I'm not sure if I've been living under a rock, but how did I not know about this store before? I was searching for some party décor items and found this on Google- Hobby Lobby near my location. I went in expecting just another store, but I was genuinely surprised by how huge it was. In short, it felt like a mix of HomeSense, HomeGoods, and Michaels -- but on a much larger scale. Right at the entrance, there were seasonal items (Easter stuff everywhere around this time), followed by gardening and porch/patio décor, and it just kept going. Every aisle was a wow moment. We went in for a few basic décor items, maybe $10-$20 worth, and ended up spending over $300 on canvases, paintings, kitchen items, and more. I couldn't believe it! I absolutely cannot with this location of Hobby Lobby. I have a closer Hobby Lobby in East Hanover, and that location is always clean, well-stocked and never has a line. This location is an absolute mess. There's a rare situation when I'm in the area for work, realize I forgot something and have to pop in. 'Popping in' means spending around an hour, since there are a ton of shoppers here and they keep ONE register open. Not great Hobby Lobby. Will avoid at all costs unless it's a dire situation. read more

Let me start by saying that I hate leaving negative reviews, especially considering how times are tough for a lot of folks out there. Unfortunately, this was rough. My other half and I became aware of their massive sale for the holiday season and, needing some various Christmas decor items, we took the drive to the store to pick up some items. The store was mobbed, packed with people. This type of crowd does not correlate well with this particular store as, although the store is massive, many of the aisles are particularly narrow. This translates to aisles becoming overwhelmed quickly, making them almost impassable. Looking at ornaments? Be prepared for someone who wants to do the same to stand directly in front of you, as there is nowhere else for them to go. I must be fair, as their selection is absolutely massive. Think of a holiday decor item and odds are it can be found here. However, given the crowd, the place was a mess. Items were haphazardly put in the wrong places, items were on the floors in aisles, etc. This made things difficult to find. For example, the Christmas ornament we were looking for was in the candle aisle, not with the ornaments. The staff try their best to help, but it is clear that they are inundated. Being understaffed is not their fault, as that is a management issue. They were kind and made an attempt to assist us. The deals are phenomenal. There is no other way to put it. However, I found myself wondering if the conditions of the store and the massive, sometimes rude, crowd made the sale prices worth it. It is crowded, messy, and overstimulating. Checking out involved massive lines. The clerks were kind. However, the wait was painful. Two lines, approximately a dozen customers each long, and no one opening other registers to move things along. I don't think we will return here, unfortunately. read more

Clearance department says "at least 75%" meaning 75% off. I saw a box of paint on clearance with a clearance tag. Regular price $25.99... clearance price was $24.99. Another item was $15.99...sale price was $7.99. A 50% off clearance. these people don't know what is 75% off. 4 1/2 stars This place is beautiful and I LOVE visiting when I'm in town since I don't have a local Hobby Lobby where I live. Anything you need to decorate your home, kitchen, she cave, man cave, yard, cakes, party areas you will find here. There are tons of crafty items .. baskets.. signs.. fabrics.. There is just so much that you need to check it out. I always find cool and unique items here. I really didn't run into any staff except the cashier which was nice. They loose half a star since the line situation kind of sucks. They need to figure out how to make one line and the cashiers call the next person in line. Plus their cash registers need an updating. They are not scanning bar codes as the cashiers are entering in "1.99 party area" or something like that. A new register line and system will ease the paying pain. This store has a good supply of varied products but can do much better in customer service. Today there were several sales people standing around while the line for the one and only open register got longer and longer. When a request was made for another register to be opened, the reply was that "we don't have enough people who are trained for that position." Management should be paying attention to this situation and cross train their employees so that customers won't have to wait longer to check out of the store than it takes to actually shop and find the items wanted. This same problem has occurred almost every time I've gone into this store. What a shame. read more

The store itself is a crafter's dream- I like it's layout and their wall decor is filled with a great selection, and they're usually well stocked. Holiday season is a complete mess, however, and I find them often understaffed. The cashier's line is often long throughout the year and not always the most helpful. read more

I love Hobby Lobby! It's a creator's dream to walk in here. The store is really big and although it could get overwhelming, I would make sure to go there knowing you might spend an hour there! So many great and unique finds. I want to give a kudos to the cashier helping my boyfriend and I out that day. We had a sign that was $60.00 and she was kind enough to let us know about the coupons. Hobby lobby I was in the rte 46 Totowa NJ store & started to pay by card but then stopped & paid cash because the Salvation Army was outside and I wanted cash to put in the donations. I needed change I said to the clerk -wait, I want to use cash how do I cancel this transaction. He said just pull out the card, so I did. After I paid and left the store and got to my car, I got a chase alert on my phone showing it did charge to my card and I paid cash too. Now I paid twice so I went back inside -but Sam, the store manager said too bad-no credit talk to your bank. I made him write up what happen and he did just that- even the guy who checked my out was baffled that it charged. But Sammy didn't care! And no it didn't go back to my card either like Sam said it would. But that's ok, I've spent more on a pack of cigarettes so....... No problem Sammy- I'll take the loss & spread my full story on Twitter, Google, Facebook &Yelp 4ever Hobby lobby stores are not into the 21st century / they still have a little binder that they have to go in and look at for pricing and sales. The employees always seem unhappy. No one smiles, or looks at you It's the first Christian owned business establishment where I feel sad for the employees when I leave, not the best way to spread the Good News about Jesus.! Also employee knowledge of instore layout, and merchandise is limited, getting help is up to the customer to map the layout of the store on your phone to find what you're looking for. If you do manage to get an employee to answer a question, by question #3, you can sense anxiety and irritability building, it's as if they're only there to unbox the merch, and take money. Compared to Michaels and other craft stores; does Hobby Lobbys' internal memo state that there is to be minimal contact between employees and customers, except for monetary transactions? That's the way it seeems. No is one taking you to aisle 9 to show you that ''thing" you can't find. It's scavenger hunt time. *** Crafts, Home Decor *** I must admit - this store is huge and has a vast amount of merchandise for almost any shopper. I like there seasonal, baking, and decor sections. You can also luck out with a 40% off coupon (search online). There is literally too much stuff to list for all that this store has to offer! Had a return with no receipt. Forgot it at home and told the to the cashier Kelly D T-7600 (the dark curly hair, Caucasian, plump). 465 US Highway 46 in Totowa on 6/22/21 at 12:16pm 1. She treated me not welcomed 2. She never told me it will be returned at 1/2 price. 3. When I asked her "why didn't you tell me, I do have a receipt to bring" she just kept repeating me coldly "I told you". Which is she DID NOT. So I just lost $62. This is what I would call a craft store that has too much adrenaline . This store has I believe I counted 60 aisles of merchandise inside. Everything is very well organized so you can find what you need in whatever category you seek. What that means, is if you're into scrapbooking and go to the scrapbooking section, once there you will find everything you need and a lot of other things you probably didn't even know existed. They have a lot of decorations for the house especially if you're looking to do a house based on the theme, like western, religious,sports, motorcycles etc.. I would definitely recommend that if you know anyone into crafting were decorating their home, that they check out this location. The amount of merchandise that they have is incredible and the variety is almost overwhelming. But the store is not crowded which I like. It's easy to navigate the aisles, and the sales associates are helpful anytime I have needed them. read more

Wow! What a great store with huge selections of crafts and supplies. It was truly overwhelming. I spent a few minutes orienting myself to the layout and tried to check out as many items as I could. The staff was helpful in directing me and assisting me. In the end, I found everything that I needed and more. The best part was that most of the items that I bought were on sale. Yay! This Hobby Lobby is so poorly cleaned it's a disgrace to the franchise. I've been to several other hobby lobby's and those stores are very organized, the floors and shelving are cleaned, and the bathrooms are clean as well. This was not the case here- the floors were filthy with dirt and trash all over the store, all the shelving and displays were unsightly and products were simply stuffed into the shelves with no regard for product placement or organization. I've never been more disgusted by the overall cleanliness of a store, except maybe a gas station store, but I think the gas station shelving is even more organized than this hobby lobby. The employees were not helpful and while I was walking around the store they would fly past customers avoiding eye contact. My partner and I came here for the first time to look for wedding ideas. What we were met with were entire isles of Jesus knick-knacks and propaganda for guns, including but not limited to, gun hooks to hang your guns after a long day of gun stuff. As a lesbian couple, my partner and I were offended. However as a matter of principle we decided to steal their cute ideas and #hobbylobby on our Instagram wedding photos so as to give them credit. I'm not a big fan of craft stores but I was recruited for a special assignment. Too bad we did not find everything we were looking for. However this Oklahoma based chain store delivers the goods for all types of hobbies. My favorite area was the left corner of the store where they have a bunch of cool robots for $15 to $20. They also provide furniture, lamps, frames, oversized metal letter, and many other things to decorate your home. The staff is really helpful too, they didn't mind directing us to the right aisle. Overall a good first time experience ( I really thought it was going to be a painful one) and I got some exercise. read more

I must say, I am surprised that all of the hobbies can fit in one lobby! Hobby Lobby, located in Totowa, is a mega craft store. This store contains everything that you will ever need for every hobby imaginable (well, except for underwater basket weaving... wait, they do have a basket weaving section). Hobby Lobby's shop is large, clean and well lit. Their selection is large and affordable. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. Hobby Lobby also offers a variety of classes and crafts workshop; perfect for the season crafter or a novice. Hobby Lobby's hours are a bit frustrating. The store is closed on Sundays, and closes at 8PM on weekdays. Overall, Hobby Lobby has good value, good crafts and good people....IT'S ALL GOOD! read more

I think my favorite part about hobby lobby has to be the men's section... there's a "manly" selection of sci fi, sport and dudes for Jesus or some such Nonsense. I have a pic somewhere in a cloud, I'll find it one day... Their selection is okay, it's very varied, and some sections are more robust than others, but the in your face Jesus will save us all in their chain store is nauseating. Their coupon policy sucks as well. Stick with the other chain stores who don't try to sell you Christ. read more

Love this place! They have so much to decorate the house; I go every couple weeks to see if I can snag something new, especially when the seasons change. They also have a large variety/stock of crafting items. Sometimes I just walk down the aisles to get an idea for a new project. I was there early morning when I got to the register there were 9 employees standing around and only one register open. I get on line I'm next so I'm there waiting for a while cause the person in front of me have a lot of stuff, so finally they open a second register and the guy takes someone else that just came in. Very rude staff. I've worked in customer service 10 years and never talked to customers the way they did. They directed you in line like TSA and legit screamed at you. I asked someone for help locating an item and she didn't look up from what she was doing and answered "what". I will just stick to Home Goods and Home Sense lol read more

Can't say I'm big into decorating so I was basically tagging along with my wife. I can say, however, now that I've been here, I will probably come back for any home decorating stuff. The store was huge and they seemed to have all different type of decorating items. Like a sea of stuff just waiting to hang on your wall and collect dust! Just kidding, I realize this type of place ain't my cup of tea but it would seem to me the go to place if you wanted a robust inventory of decorating items. One thing I will mention is that I was pretty darn nervous bringing my kids in there. As an adult that has mastered gross motor skills(at least I think, some have suggested I walk funny) I was very worried about knocking things off the shelves. It seemed the most fragile of items would be placed centimeters away from the edge of shelves. A simple clothing brush or even hard breath might knock over some of their items. Then you add little clumsy and hyper kids = lots of apologizing to store manager while forking over your debit card. :o read more

I came here looking for a particular item that is normally always in Stock. Couldn't find it so I asked the store manager and a cashier to see if they can look up the sku and they both refused. I haven't been to any other Hobby Lobby locations, but this particular store is awful. The cashiers are consistently slow and rude. I stood on line behind a woman who had 4 small items. It took the cashier about 10 minutes to slowly ring everything up and bag it all. Then, when she finally finished and got to me, I asked to use a coupon that was loaded on my phone. She did it, but she rolled her eyes at me and slammed my bag down on the counter when she was finished. If this was a one time thing at this store, I would have shrugged it off, but I've noticed that when I've asked any of the employees where an item is located in the store that they either roll their eyes or curtly point to the general direction of the store it might be found.
