In most pools, you see grumpy lifeguards twirling their whistles, wishing they were somewhere else! (I used to be a pool lifeguard - your job is not that bad, kiddos!) The guards here actually enjoy being there and are very warm and welcoming to my boys. A great way to spend the day!

There are picnic areas, a basketball court, tennis/handball/pickle ball courts, small playground, community center, and swimming pool (open in the summer and requires a pass obtained from the Town of Clarkstown registration office). There are a few wildlife guides on the trail created by the local girl scouts. I also saw pickleball courts, basketball courts (indoors), swimming pools, and more which I believe are all part of the park. Very peaceful, scenic park. Often times I found myself waiting for 1 of 45 treadmills to be available. 6 of them would probably out of service with no warning sign on it. 2. As far as the sauna, be prepared to be joined by 15 men. 1 of which will be taking a business call. 3. You will see a 45lb dumbbell placed in a 15lbs dumbbell spot on the rack because people don't understand how to put things back. 4. Lastly, their locker room is disgusting. My friend got Plantar Warts walking once barefoot. Towels are everywhere, locker room attendants are hitting their vapes. End of story, It's not worth the monthly payment unless you will be going 5AM-7:30AM or 7:30PM-10PM due to crowdedness.

We've been Life Time members for years and previously used another club where the staff were consistently friendly. I won't dwell on the facilities here--fees are high, amenities feel dated (though I know upgrades are underway), and comparable clubs in other high-cost areas offer more. That's not my main concern. My issue is the pattern of rude behavior at the front desk and the lack of awareness and follow-through from management. Most troubling, my child recalls being called "illegalist kid in the world" by someone wearing a Life Time jersey in the Kids Club. I reported this to both management and the Kids Club manager. There was no follow-up. My child stopped going for a while--especially disappointing since the Kids Club was a big reason we joined. I also notice a clear difference in how people are treated. We continue to go because it's convenient, not because I want to spend my hard-earned money where discriminatory behavior is tolerated or customer service concerns are ignored. For what it's worth, not all Life Time locations are like this--our experience at other clubs has been much better. I hope this feedback prompts meaningful action: acknowledge the complaint, follow up with families, train staff on respectful conduct, and ensure accountability. My sister and I were wearing modest…read moreswimwear--long-sleeved swim tops and knee-length swim shorts made for swimming--and were kicked out of the pool because of it. Meanwhile, other guests (not Latino like us) were in the pool wearing linen shorts, and nothing was said to them. The staff, all around 18-20 years old including the so-called managers, showed no professionalism or understanding of inclusive swimwear options. The whole situation felt humiliating, unfair, and discriminatory. This pool needs better staff training and updated policies. Tuve una experiencia muy decepcionante en la piscina Sprain Ridge. Mi hermana y yo llevábamos trajes de baño modestos--camisetas de manga larga y pantalones cortos hasta la rodilla, diseñados específicamente para nadar--y nos sacaron de la piscina por eso. Mientras tanto, otros visitantes (no latinos como nosotras) estaban en la piscina con pantalones de lino, y no les dijeron absolutamente nada.
