    Jasmine Green Tea
    Karla B.

Service / food / ambience: 5/5 We came this past Monday. Weather was warm, outside seating was open so there was a good amount of seating. On rainy or cooler days, I could see seating being issue during peak hours. Parking is also very limited. We walked up, the cashier was nice. She warned us that they were out of a few things as we came later the day. The menu is extremely limited - three items on the menu for actual lunch. We ordered a Loxsmith - sub cream cheese for avocado (crazy I know!) & a Chicken sandwich. We also got two hot jasmine green teas. There was an auto gratuity / service fee that applied. Our total came out to about $50. The food took a little longer than I'd think it would but the food was absolutely delicious. I wasn't too thrilled with the amount of dressing that drenched my salad but the dressing itself was good. I'd opt for it to be on the side next time. We were very satisfied with our food, but this was a much pricer lunch than we expected from a bakery. Nonetheless, the sandwich was a treat. Their pastries/bread look great too. I'd come again. note: despite how good the food is, the challenge to find parking, prices and very limited menu made me hesitant to give it a 5/5.

I've been wanting to try Tabor Bread ever since Maurizio from The Perfect Loaf posted it on his Instagram story. Tabor Bread bakes 100% whole grain sourdough goods, and boy are they amazing. My husband and I arrived around 1pm, about an hour before closing. There were about 3 options with limited quantities still available. This made our decision much easier, though I would recommend going earlier in the day if you would like more options. We ordered 1 of each, this included a breakfast sausage brioche, a mushroom gravy brioche, and a buckwheat chocolate chip cookie. Everything was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. The bakery itself is super cute, with a small seating area and a little fancy pantry goods area too. I am already planning my next visit!

    Lots of goods!

I ordered the Foccacia of the day, Buckwheat Chocolate Cookie and Mom's Chicken Sandwich. Everything was delish! They were out of ham and cheese croissants by 11 AM. The chicken sandwich was a bit bland. Tomatoes and a Spear Pickle on the side would have made it much better. However, the sandwich bread, house made, was very good! It would have benefited with more shredded chicken, though. They also put potatoe chips in it. If I would've known that, I would have asked to put the chips on the side...Just saying! Be aware that they put on a 15% tip on your tab, even if you get your order to go. my total came to $32.20 for those 3 items. I had to wait my own table... so much for working for your tips! The Shredded Chicken Sandwich (Mom's Chicken) was $17 alone! It was tasty enough, but not worth that much! I highly recommend any of the breads. They use high quality flours, grains, as well as being non gmo. I just think "tips" should be optional upon service. Thus, one star deducted from my rating.

Tabor Bread is an absolute gem in Portland and easily one of the best bakeries I've visited. From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, welcoming, and full of that incredible fresh-baked aroma that tells you immediately you're in for something special. Everything looks beautifully made, and it's clear that a lot of care, skill, and passion go into every loaf, pastry, and detail. The bread is truly outstanding: rich in flavor, perfectly textured, and the kind of bread that reminds you how exceptional simple ingredients can be when they're handled by people who really know what they're doing. The crust, crumb, and freshness are all spot on. Their pastries are just as impressive, with that perfect balance of beauty, flavor, and craftsmanship. Nothing feels mass-produced or ordinary. What really makes Tabor Bread stand out is that it feels both elevated and genuine. It has the quality of a place that takes baking very seriously, but it still feels approachable, neighborhood-friendly, and full of heart. Portland has no shortage of good food, but Tabor Bread absolutely stands out. If you appreciate amazing bread, thoughtful baking, and a place that clearly cares about quality, this spot deserves every bit of a five-star review.

I love a good lox and this place delivers. My only complaint is that I wish the salmon portion was a little more generous but the flavors still pack a punch. Their pistachio croissant is flaky and filled with pistachios so can't complain there. The ladies taking care of us were so friendly and helpful. I need to come earlier to grab a table next time because this place gets packed especially on a weekend.

Charming little bakery that specializes in local whole grain & naturally leavened sourdough baking. We came on a Saturday morning and there was a line (as expected) but it moved fairly quick. There are so many baked goods to choose from we ended up getting bagels and some pastries to take home. Great quality stuff, will be back for sure!

Great breads, fresh bagels, and pastries! Overall the sandwiches are super overpriced, but the actual loaves and other items are good. Cozy and cute with lots of seating for the amount of space they have. Staff were also kind. One star lost because of the outrageous sando prices, I fear :/

Wow, thanks Tabor Bread; I came here this morning and now I have to sell my house and move within walking distance of you because you're SO good! Spectacular breads, sandwiches, pastries and coffees! My dining companion and I shared a breakfast sandwich which was on a glorious poppy seed bun, had aioli, microgreens, red onion, sautéed mushrooms and we chose avocado over the alternative breakfast sausage. We also had our egg over hard since we wanted to cut the sandwich in half and it was perfectly prepared. Latte and cappuccinos were as delightful as they were beautiful. Exceptional service by all staff and very clean restroom was appreciated.

This is the kind of place that you feel grateful to have in your city. Fresh bread and pastries, and kind service. It's the simple things here that will make you smile. The menu is small, but the bread speaks for itself. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and there is usually a line...so come early! We tried the chicken sandwich, lox, and the orange vanilla matcha. Everything was delicious! We even took home some garlic rosemary loafs for tomorrow morning.

This was my first time at Tabor Bread and what a wonderful treat! We came near closing but they still had some food available. The bagels were fresh and so tasty! The coffee was amazing as well! The perfect little brunch spot truly. I was able to buy a loaf of French bread to take home and that was just perfect. I love Tabor Bread!!

I can't believe it took me so long to come here and I'm officially obsessed now. I didn't even try a sweet pastry yet! Just their insane bagel sandwiches. I brought my parents when they came to town and we got there around 9 to a minimal line. By the time we left the line was out the door! The cutest mugs for coffee and plates etc and ambiance! Love!!

Cute tables out back on a sunny morning.

A cross between a European bakery and a Portland coffee house. In one of Portland's nicest neighborhoods to boot. I had the breakfast sausage brioche and it was amazing. The pastries are divine, fresh and unique. They make them. Not a ghost kitchen. The coffee is spot on. You can buy all variants of specialty flours and sourdough starter too. It's a wonderful place to visit.

I've been here quite a few times and have really enjoyed the Aribic People's latte with its strong cardamon overtones, the Chocolate Jesus and today, the Mucho Calliente, which promises a chili infusion, and cinnamon infused espresso with dark chocolate! But wait..., oh no, I forgot to ask for oat... this is probably (certainly) dairy. Argh! Sorry, I have no Viking blood and can not digest cow milk. I would rather battle the aforementioned Viking before I'd endure the results of ... dairy! So, I brought my drink up fully prepared to pay for another and everyone there, EVERYONE, in almost unison, refused to take my payment. They kindly and quickly made another and... oh... spicy indeed, but chocolatey and balanced! One of the best spicy mochas I've had anywhere ... and I am an absolute Spella snob and proud of it! His hospitality set the tone for the whole evening--warm, relaxed, and full of conversation between people from all over the world. One of the highlights was watching Joe prepare traditional Egyptian coffee over hot sand, a centuries-old method that slowly heats the coffee and brings out deep, rich flavors. But the real comfort of the night came in the form of Egyptian Sahlab. Imagine a thick, creamy winter drink made from warm milk, gently sweetened and flavored with vanilla and orange blossom water. Those of you who tried it know what I am talking about! It was very nice to get a beautiful taste of Egyptian culture right here on Hawthorne. Huge thanks to Joe for the incredible hospitality and for sharing these traditions with us. I hope they expand to include a full Egyptian, Mediterranean food menu.

I got the seasonal peppermint mocha drink- all the flavors were very light and not too sweet which I appreciated. I only wished that there was stronger coffee taste (my preference), as it tasted like a warm milk drink with a hint of peppermint and dash of bitterness from the coffee. I do wonder how their drinks will taste iced so I do plan on coming back! I arrived with my party of 2 just before a small line formed, and ordered my seasonal drink and a drip coffee. there were 2 baristas at the time, but after we ordered one of them left(?) and only one barista remained to take orders and make drinks. it was busy and as a barista myself I understand so I didn't mind the longer wait and understood that they forgot the drip coffee we ordered due to the small rush. Upon reminding them after the customers behind us were served, the barista was super apologetic and made the drip coffee immediately. However, the coffee was lukewarm and didn't have a strong coffee taste either (according to my friend). Overall a cute little cafe on Hawthorne, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for their coffee. I would be willing to give this place another shot if I was in the area, as their other seasonal drinks look yummy!

There are a couple of cozy chairs in the front window and some additional counter and lounge seating in an adjoining room. The drink quality and presentation were high quality and delicious. The cost of a 12oz latte ($7) with no special milk was higher than other cafes I've been to recently around Portland including places that create their own syrups for specialty drinks of the month. That said, I don't begrudge the cost of a masterfully hand-crafted, drinkable cup of art and that is exactly what I received. I think the cost stuck in my head because the welcome did not feel particularly warm at the register. They were having an animated conversation with the barista and I couldn't help but feel like we were inconveniencing them by saying good morning and trying to order. When we picked up our orders, the barista was warm and friendly. Overall, it's a delightful spot in an equally lovely neighborhood.
