I have to say, I've been to a lot of T Mobile stores where the customer service was horrible but I was very pleased with the Ballard location. I walked in and knew exactly what I wanted and the rep Tait was glad to help. He was very friendly and I am impressed with his customer service. He made sure to answer all of my questions about the product and the new plan. He even had the phone that I wanted so he let me hold his phone and test it out a little bit to give me a better feel of how my new phone would feel. I will be sure to go back there if I ever need help with my phone and I will definitely refer other people to go to that store if they need help as well. I left and figured that I'd have to order a replacement part (they didn't have it in stock). Thania Guerra, retail store associate deserves a RAISE! I have NEVER received the level of service she provided, ever, from any other tech service of any kind period. She puts the people at Verizon store to absolute shame. She was knowledgable, went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable with every step, let me know what she was doing, enjoyed and responded to my crazy sense of humor with fun and professionalism, and clearly enjoyed what she was doing. She was fast, knew her products, showed me very useful things I can do with the Samsung Note 4 I bought, knowing I am a business owner. I just cannot say enough about this young woman. I can say this... I am going to hire her away from you and double what you are paying her... and help her grow to the amazing potential I know she has... as soon as I can. So look out! If you are reading this, you have internet, and would be better off buying anything you need from T-mobile online or from another retail location. I went in for a SIM card for a family member's new phone. The old phone was with a different carrier, and I wanted to transfer the old number to t-mobile when the old plan runs out in a few weeks, as to not prepay for 2x the phone service this month. I explained this all to the sales person up-front. They said the SIM card is $20 without service, or $10 with service. I should have left then. It is $10 online with or without service. But I agreed to buy the first month of prepaid service as well to save $10 on the SIM card. I would need to activate the service eventually. Common sense would tell you, that no, I do not want this activated today since the phone will not be used until the old prepaid plan runs out, at which time I will transfer the number to t-mobile and activate the new phone. Pretty simple, right? I paid, and asked for my prepaid refill # as I am accustomed to doing when I refill my current t-mobile prepaid phone, and he told me the credit was already applied to the SIM card, and everything was already activated. I had unwillingly purchased an activated SIM card and activated $50 prepaid credit. I asked for my money back, but he said they could not refund me. I asked for the manager, and did offer a $10 credit if I come back in for my next prepaid refill. Good customer service means listening to your customers. There is none of that going on at this location. I really wanted to support the local economy. But I won't be back, and you can keep your $10 credit. Sean helped my wife and I pick out phones that were right for us. He wasn't pushy and when asked about comparing 2 similar styles he actually recommended the "lesser/cheaper" model because he has seen some issues personally with the other phone's hardware. I appreciated his candidness and he even pointed out some nice places to rent in the surrounding neighborhoods (we are apartment hunting) We came back with a question a few days later and he was knowledgeable and helpful yet again. BAD PLACE, HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I have been a loyal t-mobile customer for way over a decade but the "service" (i.e., business practices) in this branch (and followed up by t-mobile customer service) was so disappointing that as soon as the opportunity arises I will switch providers. My girlfriend and me had decided to combine plans and I convinced her to join me at t-mobile. To cut the endless waiting and confused service by those young, very talkative guys short to what happened: first, after having a combined phone plan for both of our lines finalized together with unlimited talk and data, the next day it turns out that they never connected her to a data plan. A call to customer service later, she was connected, only to then for me to notice that now I had no data plan anymore. Another call to customer service seemed to have that fixed, until to the first bill. That bill was way too high and it turned out that although I had signed up for an international calling plan feature which should have made calling to Europe free of charge (for $10/mo), that feature never was activated and t-mobile charged me 70 something dollars, which made another call to customer service necessary. After having that fixed, it took another month for the next bill and the next call. Again the bill was higher than expected. This time, it turned out that I had payments to a tablet added (which I was talked into) plus a mobile data plan added, both of which I didn't want to have. (When I was at the store the last time to upgrade my phone and plan, I was offered a tablet from a "fantastic promotion" whatsoever thing. I declined that offer stating that I did not want additional expenses added to my phone bill and I was very explicit about that. I was convinced by the staff that this thing was a one time offer, would cost me $10 once and then was free, something I explicitly doubted, but finally (after nearly 1 1/2 hours at the store) let them convince me was real. While stating explicitly again that I did not want additional expenses and being told explicitly that this was not the case I accepted that offer and left). After calling customer service AGAIN and discussing with the help staff there, explaining how I was felt I was lured into that tablet deal, they finally agreed to take at least the mobile data plan off, still leaving me with having to pay off that tablet. Again, I protested, as I never wanted that tablet and since it in the beginning was offered as "free". I was told if I wanted to get rid of that tablet I could pay it off. So, now I was supposed to pay to get rid of something I didn't want in the first place?? After asking for the manager, the staff got back to me, offering me that t-mobile would cut the cost for the tablet in half for me, but I would have to accept that offer right away and not insist on speaking to managers because if I did so that offer would not longer stand. Seriously? Just to get rid of this AWFUL situation I accepted, but only to be able to warn everybody else of this practice. I would expect such behavior and treatment from shady, under-the-radar businesses, but from a company like t-mobile? Being treated like that after 12 or more years as a loyal customer? No thanks! Altogether, those guys were really fast in getting our signatures under the paperwork and contracts and hardware but failed miserably in doing their share of the work (actually connecting our lines, activating features) or to display any honorable business practices, i.e., not to push unwanted services or hardware to unaware or overwhelmed customers. Absolutely, completely, unacceptable and very, very disappointing. Stay away. read more

This store is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced in my 7 years at Tmobile!! It all started when I contacted Tmobile customer care and was given a false promotion. Customer care activated 3 new lines, and told me I would get 3 free phones and unlimited text, call, and data for $45 per line.. too good to be true right?? YES! I visited this store and the kid there, JR, was supposed to be the one to help me. Instead he gave me more false information, and when I called him a few days later to figure out the issue, he became so upset with all my questions that he grunted, took the phone, banged it against the table, took a deep breath, and got back on the phone with me!!!! Horrible service!!!! I am sure you can imagine the letter I am writing their corporate headquarters. not only does Tmobile just about the worst reception and worst phones.. but now their service has plummeted. That was about the only thing that kept them above the rest. Way to go.. I have a feeling their company will not be expanding any time soon, nor with J.R. at the Ballard store will get a promotion any time soon. Next.. I am happy to say I will soon be an AT&T customer.. pay much more.. but it's worth it!! read more

I went in over the week-end and had a pleasant and seamless transition, deciding to trade in my old Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 for the new HTC One 8. I decided to make the transition over to T-Mobile from Verizon for a number of reasons: 1) I am fed up with cell phone carrier contracts. T-mobile is paying me for the termination fees from Verizon. I can pay for the phone upfront or pay in monthly installments of what the phone currently is costing. AND, they bought my old phone back from me after transferring all of my contacts, messages, photos, and emails accounts over to this phone. We erased & wiped the old phone clean right before I left. 2) I wanted a plan where I wouldn't have to worry about data overage fees and the ridiculous costs associated with going over that Verizon, and AT&T make you pay. I can manage my data and make changes to the various plans if I need to. 3) The data pricing plans from T Mobile are the LOWEST of the big 4 in the US currently - go and take a look for yourself and you will see you'll get a better deal with data from T-Mobile on both individual and shared pricing plans. 4) T-Mobile does offer the fastest 4G LTE data service, as they advertise. I've gone to many You Tube video sites and watched the comparisons. In Seattle, T-Mobile is lighting fast, as I suspect they are in just about everywhere else in the country. Faster than Verizon & AT&T out here. Definitely faster than Sprint. I wanted to give out a shout out to the T-Mobile specialist/ retail store associate who helped set me up on this phone: James Orrell, who obviously knows his phones and was very courteous and polite with me during the set up and transfer. He helped set my phone up exactly how I needed it to work and was patient with me when I asked multiple questions. He is extremely good with people and very tech savvy. The full work team at this Ballard T Mobile location was very pleasant that day. I just want to thank them for helping me and making me feel welcome - knowing I could come back or call in for questions. The manager on site came over and shook my hand as I was leaving, welcoming me to T-Mobile and thanking me for coming in. Good customer service goes a long way in my book. read more

I recently experienced generous customer support at this location. In particular, a clerk named Adam helped me transfer all my data to a replacement phone after filing an insurance claim. (A tedious process, so I was glad to have the help.) Adam was both kind and patient, and while we waited for my data to transfer, we chatted about his rather excessive reptile & insect collection and his penchant for metal. While this review is primarily in support of Adam's professionalism, I'd like to register my disappointment that he A) has not yet seen Anvil, the Story of Anvil, and B) continues to consume energy drinks despite his knowledge that they aren't the best for him. I hope this review helps him remedy these faults. read more

Review of this location only. I am a loyal T-Mobile customer for over 10 years, however, whenever I come into this particular store, it's a trying experience. The way the store and line is managed is very inefficient, during our most recent visit, Luis (the store manager) was roaming around and chit chatting with the other associates, ignoring customers patiently waiting to be services. Some got frustrated and left. 30 minutes later, the associate did help us and was extremely helpful. Try another location, they are much better managed. read more

I had to return a cellphone for what later turned out to be a problem with my answering machine instead (I don't use voice mail). Even though I didn't have a receipt (They didn't give me one), The guy was very patient about finding my purchase on the computer, and refunding my money. They did charge me a $25 restocking fee, but that's life. read more

Worst customer service experience of my life. Wife and I set up an account at tmobile online and were expecting to receive sim cards in the mail so we could port our phones over to tmobile. Unfortunately Tmobile sent us to this store to complete the process. Staff at store failed to verify the account and update the activation date so our service was back dated two weeks prior to activation and within a week we started receiving texts saying our bill was late. We checked our email (tmobile charges for paper bills so they set everyone up for electronic bills) and could not locate any billing emails. We logged into the tmobile site and were able to see the billing so we set it up through our bank bill pay to be paid. Next day phones were shut off. Phoned this store and the first representative hung up the phone rather than deal with the situation. Obviously as a customer I was upset but I have never had anyone tell me they are infuriated because they kept saying it was Tmobile's error not the stores, but they are tmobile since they activated the phones. Finally after 2 calls and 30 mins on the phone the manager, who told me, "you are being an asshole" after I had said that I am pissed and being a ahole, told me he would get it fixed because he was tired of speaking to me. He took my phone number and told me he would get it fixed then call me back. read more

The customer service at this T mobile location is superb! Under the direction of Steve, the manager, the entire team is friendly and efficient. In the past week, I have been in three times, twice with my daughter. Her husband is on active duty and we needed to get him a phone, as well as update both of ours. Sean helped me once and he was patient and had great product knowledge. He gave me his card and told me to contact him if I had any further questions. The second time James helped us. This time there were lines to transfer, and he had to wait for calls, and dealt with corporate, and he did it all with a respectful and cheerful attitude. It was clear he wanted to do his very best to help us as customers. Today we dealt with Steve, who was caring, personable, and helpful in instructing me about my phone's features. He aims to provide superior customer service, and it shows. It is a pleasure to recommend this location and its outstanding sales team. read more
