After a stressful Sunday morning phone emergency, I knew a trip here was necessary for both my recreational and work lifestyle. I had a dinner engagement with friends that afternoon. How would I contact them? And with Monday being a workday, I was pretty sure there'd be work texts and calls that morning. I ordered my replacement that wouldn't arrive till ten days later. Yes, no cellphone for ten days is unfathomable. Stopping in a little after 1 pm, I saw a couple guys with T-Mobile shirts on. Ivan greeted me and I explained my situation. After unsuccessfully helping me restart my phone, he and I agreed the best alternative was to get a new phone to use. Twenty minutes later, I left the store with a phone that I could use in texting, calling, and receiving texts and phone calls. I stopped in later in the week enlisting Ivan's help in transitioning information. On Friday, I stopped in while the door was being repaired and Christian patiently helped me transition to my replacement phone. Big thanks to Ivan on my 1st two visits and explaining things and helping me plan the transition. Thanks to Christian for getting my new phone in order. This is still my go-to location. read more

Have you ever experienced a time in your life when everything was going wrong, no matter what you tried? Road blocks, one after the other was what I have been going through. I wish it for no one. In the middle of experiencing turmoil, I walked into a T- Mobile store on Van Ness, because I needed to change back my phone number to my previous one otherwise I would lose some accounts associated to it. I had little hope, but I had to try. Immediately, as I walked into the store I was greeted warmly. Team member Lauren addressed me with sincerity and asked how she can help. I explained my situation of needing to retrieve my previous phone number, she got to it right away. She checked out my phone, and took it to the back of store to get her manager's attention. Lauren and her manager Frankie, came back to where I was sitting. Frankie was very warm and had positive vibes. As Lauren was working on my phone Frankie was friendly and I felt assured they could accomplish my goal, which they did! The whole experience was very smooth. As a customer I felt cared for, prioritized, important. These days with touch-less, face-to-face interaction due to mobile phone's growing capabilities, it is a rarity to be able to interface with another human for customer service. I appreciate T-mobile and their team members. T-Mobile got it right with Lauren and Frankie. Incompetent, time wasting, ignorant customer service. To summarize, they have been telling my mother that something was wrong with her IPhone 8, but the problem was on their backend. It took my mother 3 months talking to different agents for them to figure it out. So, my mother stopped having cellular data on her phone. She could only use it with Wi-Fi. She brought it to the Geary location and then twice to the Van Ness location. Everywhere, she was told that she has to change her phone. Finally, she decided to switch to iPhone 14. At the Van Ness location, Denise was helping her. First of all, when they were figuring out how much she would pay per month, Denise forgot to mention that there is a $35 upgrade fee. Art, the manager, later told us that everyone knows that. Ok, whatever. After my mother switched the phone, we were making sure that everything was copied ok. The new phone was on Wi-Fi. Thank God, my mother realized that she has to turn off Wi-Fi to see that there is cellular data. The data was not there. So Denise realized that she has to do some work instead of giving go away messages and called their tech support. Turns out the issue was on their end. We asked whether the old iPhone 8 would work now. Of course, Denise did not know. She started doing a refund and copying back data to the old phone. Yes, the old phone was working now. Denise, presented as how great T-Mobile was able to resolve the issue. We have spend 3 hours there not to mention all the time my mother has wasted before. We asked to speak with the supervisor, and Art came to us. He was as little help as Denise though trying to overwhelm us with details that made no sense. He gave my mother $50 for her trouble. To Art, that was good enough. Avoid T-Mobile. There are plenty of other vendors that are cheaper like Mint Mobile with better customer service like AT&T or Verizon. They are bored at T-Mobile, they don't care about existing customers, and they show you on every occasion that they would like for you to go away. read more

Such great service and all the extras offered with signing with T-Mobile, I brought my friend who switched too. I had T-Mobile until early 2010 and they still didn't have the iPhone- so I switched carriers. A change was overdue so I made it. The Geary store didn't make it easy (and it's ***not a corporately owned store) but here at the Van Ness and Pine location, it is corporate and they have their act together. Now everything's working perfectly and I'm enjoying crystal clear connections, 5G, free wireless on planes and all the extras they threw in like free AAA, Netflix and hardware upgrades every year (or two, I forget!) After a while we realized their prices were out of her budget and drive to a nearby Best Buy to purchase an open box one. As soon as we came back to T-mobile, a young lady (forgot her name) set up and migrated her contact info from the old Samsung phone. When the store got busy TK took over. It was definitely a team work. We left the store so satisfied. This store has very bad manager temper, I think he got Mental Illness (there 2 managers there after I talked with customer service, the one bad temper is the bald one, I don't know his name), he yelled at me when I came to this store & I talked nicely, maybe because I am a woman, so he only can yelled to woman, not to guys I guess. He never told me about the service charge & wearable charge monthly, its the same like buying the watch is like $20/month for 20 months +14/month wearable charge. I don't want it when figure out my bill a month later. If I knew there charges every month same as buying new watch, I would return the watch also, I am not even like wearing watch. Its like fraud & tricky from Tmobile & sales guy, or maybe he doesn't know about the products & not telling me will be charges every month. T-mobile engaged in decitfuk prsctices. I suspended to a line so that we would not pay monthly fees but they made that specific line the primary line and so Inwas charged regardless but they never told me. In fact, every time I called they said that I was not being charged for it as it wa suspended. This was a line we got for my teenage daughter but they decided to make my husband's line (who is the only person who can make changes on the account), the added on secondary line which is the only line we could have suspended and not be charged for it. So, bottom line, stay away from this company unless you like being decided and fleeced. read more

Just had the most amazing experience at T-Mobile. Kierstan greeted me immediately and put me at ease with my anxiety. I was with AT&T for over 2 decades and enough was enough. Kierstans service is top notch! She was so patient and explained everything to me about transferring carriers and what new phones could offer. I'd been a T Mobile customer for close to 20 years - always received excellent and responsive service. Not anymore...I guess they got bought out? Anyway, my Blackberry was going to get killed in Jan '22, so I had to get a new phone. Wanted to avoid apps so I got a flip phone, the Accatel one. Turns out, the email program built into the phone stopped working, text messages stopped getting thru for days, reception isn't the best. Went back to the store to return (after 30 days) since the phone broke, got the run around. I wasn't changing my mind about the phone and wanting to return it - the darn thing stopped working. It broke! They gave me no love, gave me the runaround for an hour, they lied to me ('that phone isn't supposed to do email') and finally told me they wouldn't stand behind it and to sell it on Craigslist...uh...unlike my local TMobile store, I don't sell broken crap. Changed to Mint Mobile at a fraction of the price, bought a Unihertz Blackberry knockoff, and am out $120. Screw TMobile and the horse it rode in on. read more

I had a friend who recommended me to switch over to T-mobile because he knows I travel a lot. He told me some benefits of the T-Mobile plan which I had doubt. Anyways, as days went by... the power of advertisement somehow brought me over to something called T-Mobile #TestDrive. I signed up... #TestDrive: "We sent you a iPhone 5s and you get to enjoy and test out our unlimited LTE service for free (1 week)." The test drive phone came the very next day. After running around the city and literally racking up 50+ test on Speedtest app and Sensorly, I figured it was time for a change. Now, back to the friend. He told me to go specifically to Van Ness Ave and look for a guy named Caleb. I asked him what's the big deal, and he said "i always say, a good rep is the way to go." I took his word and called up the store several times to make sure when Caleb will be working. On Saturday during the whole #ObamaJam, I drove from San Mateo to the city while beating traffic. Got there early and didn't see the guy in the store. I waited a bit before going in.... When I went in, I had to wait about 10 mins since Caleb was helping someone else. When it was my turn, I told him what I had now, and what I wanted. He said sure... He got 3 sim cards and prepped them with temporary numbers. Ported one number over from my Sprint network... Setup my order for two phones. Took in the #testdrive phone... Made sure that the plan was what I wanted. Explained the ETF situation and how it should be done. Didn't try to sell me accessories or insurance. He also took care of some little things that wasn't required by the store. Also he gave me his card and asked me to call him to setup the two phones when I receive them. Talk about going above and beyond for customer service... 30+ min drive into the city for this service was definitely worthwhile. Notes~ I averaged 20+mbps download on #testdrive iphone throughout the city. The upload was constantly above 10+mbps, Sometimes 20+mbps upload. read more

I was a Verizon subscriber and foolish switched to T-mobile after Verizon raised the prices of its Unlimited plan. My thinking was that I could receive the same great service for half the price. I was wrong. This review will serve as a reminder to other Verizon customers to avoid making the same mistakes that I made. If you have a newer phone that supports that 700MHz Band 12, you probably won't be as unhappy as I am, but my iPhone 5S doesn't and I'm pretty unhappy. As I take the 21 Bus west, I have several extended signal dropouts and can't stream video. In all buildings I'm fighting for anything more than 1 bar. Half the time I'm in Costco I barely have reception. The worst is when I drive long distances. In rural areas I have 2G signal only and if I want to look up where the next truck stop is, I better check a physical map. Where to stop for a hotel? I'll never know. I'm unhappy with this particular location because it took me months to get the promotion that I was promised. I had to call in several times and wait several months before my first promotional credit for a free line was added to my account. You get what you pay for. Ugh read more

As a flight attendant, sometimes I find myself laying over in a city when I should be back at home. This happened to me today. I went to plug my phone into my charger only to find out that my cord isn't working. I call down to the concierge desk to see if they have any and I'm told T Mobile is right across the street and they'll hook me up. I run over there, open the door only to be told that they're closed.....at 5:05pm. I tell the man at the door that all I need is a phone cord...there are still customers inside BTW but I'm told to come back tomorrow. I'm leaving at 6:55am tomorrow. Oh, well, Walgreens received my business instead. I get that they're "closed" with customers inside, an unlocked door and no hours posted on the door but my issue wasn't time consuming...I just needed a phone cord. read more

I just learned recently that the phone I was sold with the understanding that I would get a $200 rebate wasn't in fact not "activated in the correct selling point per the terms" by the T-Mobile rep at this Van Ness location. They had full access to my current plan and told me I qualified and then gave me the paperwork to get my rebate in 10-12 weeks. I just got a letter from the rebate program saying they couldn't process my request! The people at T-Mobile should have correctly identiifed my plan and qualificaitons for a new phone which they sold to me for around $500 and raised my overall plan from $30 to $90! This would have been fine with me had I gotten the rebate but I feel I was jacked. read more

Sometimes the team here is fast and friendly - like when I opened up a new line. Sometimes the team here is lazy, careless and inadvertently lies - like when they completely bungled trading in my previous phone while upgrading to a new one; didn't want to return an unused SIM; and re-directed me to T-Mobile customer service who redirected me back to the store. T-Mobile is a great deal compared to other carriers, but carrier customer service is unfortunately the same confusing mess wherever you go. read more

I walked into this store as a final attempt to get a t-mobile connection. I had earlier called up their new business center and ordered a SIM card, but they sent me a prepaid SIM instead of a postpaid SIM (its very lame that they tie the account type to the SIM) and spending more than 90 minutes speaking to almost 6 different departments. The manager of the store, Shawn is amazing. He understood my scenario and was on the phone talking to various departments for more than an hour and finally got my account setup exactly as it should be. He was not getting any new business from me but still took the effort to sort this out. This review is for the T-Mobile stores only and not the actual service. Aside from not having the best coverage in the world T-Mobile has been good to me over the past 4 or 5 years. Plus I have a plan that is no longer offered which gets me super cheap minutes!! I can't change it though because if I do I can never switch back. As far as this and most other T-Mobile stores go, the shit is just WAY to expensive. If your willing to wait for shipping you can find pretty much anything you can at these stores on Ebay for about half the price. Other than that it always seems like the customer service reps are on the phone and don't want to get off. They generally try to rush you out of the store when they do get off the phone. I literally was just sitting in the center of the store trying to figure out what to do for about 5 minutes. the manager made eye contact with me several times and look away, it was frankly embarrassing. this tmobiles's saving grace was the gentleman named Jonathan who ended up helping me after he finished with his customer. The salesguy let me know I should call Tmobile to get my rightful discount. After some discourse with the representative, I got a full discount (id est, $250 off, with $50 rebate) that was written on my account. Turned it over to the salesguy, he rang it up, and handed me my phone. everything else is staying the same, so it was a really nice easy process whereby i walked out with my new phone in less than 20 minutes. they gave me some nice advice on data plans and what perks it had, but simple short and sweet always wins me over. read more

Very pleased with the customer service when I went in with my HTC Android phone (Google I/O conference freebie, woohoo!) to sign up for a T-Mobile plan today. Manager Robb did not try to sell me on a contract or a higher-priced plan than I needed. Phoned back later that day to get my Sprint number ported over, and Dominic took care of that in a matter of minutes. (Would have done it in the store but I didn't have my account number with me.)
