    24 oz. Porterhouse

Wow! What a wonderful place to celebrate New Year's Eve. T-Bone Steakhouse is a charming, cowboy-themed eatery in South Mountain with an absolutely stunning view of Downtown Phoenix. Its casual atmosphere is fun and inviting for any occasion. We had a larger sized party and ended up being seated in the back room for some additional privacy. The service was incredible from start to finish - Lana took care of our group with ease, and expertly balanced the orders of 20+ people (including quite a few children!) She was especially kind and extremely attentive. The menu is simple - featuring a selection of steak offerings fit for a ranch hand. If for some reason you're not a steak person, T-Bone also has a couple of fish options, and a smoked half-chicken that looked delicious. My husband and I split the 24 oz. Porterhouse, which was the perfect size for sharing. The steak was cooked exactly to our preference (medium) and was seasoned well. Our meal also included a side salad, cowboy beans, and whole wheat bread. The beans were hands-down our favorite bite of the night - and even more flavorful when we mixed them with some of T-Bone's tangy housemade BBQ sauce. Additional sides are available for purchase á la carte, so we also shared a baked potato and mashed potatoes. Hot tip - the BBQ sauce tastes great on basically everything (potatoes, bread, steak, etc.) If you manage to save room for dessert, I highly recommend a slice of Apple Pie topped with Cinnamon Swirl Ice Cream. This is a phenomenal finish to a fun meal - their ice cream is unlike any I've had to date, and pairs perfectly with the warm apple pie. T-Bone does take reservations via phone, which I would absolutely recommend if you're dining on a weekend. This no-frills, family-friendly restaurant truly captures a cozy cowboy charm, and should be on your list whether you're an AZ local or visitor

Yelpers, To give your Family and visitors a western experience riding horses thru South Mountain. Ponderosa Stables is a 5 star ride....But don't book their dinner ride to T-Bones steak house. My 3 grandchildren & I enjoyed the scenery by horse back by way of South Mountain. When it came time for dinner. What a disappointment. On T bones web site they claim to have a salad bar. Here is what we received, no plates, a bowl of beans looked like just from a can, a small salad bowl, 4 pieces of bread. When it came to the steaks and hamburgers. Very low quality of steak. Nothing like we expected paying $44.00 for the t bone and the hamburger at $19.00. small potato as ala carte at $6.00. Grandkids ordered potato with red skins at $5.00. One business cannot be a 5 star while another is a 2 star. Arizona Horses is going to feel this let down over time.

So, the view is truly amazing it's one of those places which you take visitors to Phoenix. The restaurant has been in the same location since the 1940's and it's very rustic, think old west style. Service has never been an issue here, always helpful and friendly. The food is its short coming. We have been here 5 times, the last time was under new ownership. I always order a T-Bone, I always order it medium rare and they can't get that right on all of my visits. My steak has ZERO seasoning to it. My husband has a rib eye and his steak had seasoning for multiple steaks. My husband also ordered corn on the cob but got a bake potato and when this was pointed out the server apologized but his corn on the cob never arrived. I ordered an Old Fashion and was served a whisky straight up. I have been wanting to give this place a try with new ownership but the food hasn't gotten better. The view really makes for a nice experience.

Ambiance - rustic ranchhouse with fabulous Phoenix view. Service, August 29, 3023 - lovely, plus server in training - a little tuneup on ice tea service would have been nicer, but that was tsken care of quickly. Food - a co-worker in wildland fire camp told the servers he was vegetarian. They served him fish. I was at a Native American cookout once. I brought some really nice chicken. Native people are VERY practical and brutally honest - when comfortable with company. "That's not meat. Why didn't you bring meat?" T Bone Steakhouse serves meat. There's no way our folks. Plus chicken and fish. Sides are salad, cowboy beans, bread and butter, baked potatoes, sour cream. etc. Plus desserts and a full bar. We dine here on very special occasions.

Ask the Community - T-Bone Steakhouse

Do they have a kids menu?

There isn't an entire 'kids menu' but they do offer kids' proportioned items, if that helps.

Is there any outdoor seating? We've been there several times and have never seen outdoor service.

Like most businesses, they have challenges being fully staffed to offer service outside. But if the weather is nice and they have staff, we have seen service outside. Call first.

The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

It was pretty good but certainly not worth the titular pretty penny price--and we didn't even get…read morethe recommended 8 dishes, which is, like, the entire menu. To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
