Interesting how this brand still appeals after all these years. Gave my sweetie one hour to buy 3 items. Why only one hour? Her brother was at Fun Factory with Hubs. We had a long agenda for the day and number one reason, cost factor. Fortunately the tab came out to $117 that's with one item being on sale. One young man approached when we entered. Not too many surf shop and apparel stores anymore :(. Used to have HIC, Local Motion, Quiksilver and on. Still love T&C. The staff is always friendly saying "hi, how ya doing, need any help? They have a good selection of surf brand apparel, board shorts, swimsuits, skating, bodyboarding and a few surfboards. Also carry stickers, wax and board fixing supplies. Parking is shared with all of Kāhala Mall. Overall still a great store, hope they will be around for a long time. read more

This T&C is conveniently located in Kahala Mall so you don't have to drive to crowded Ala Moana. My family have been shopping here for years! They always have great merchandise to buy for gifts! My daughter in LA wanted a Yeti water bottle so she texted me 3 pictures (her choices). Mark, assistant manager, is very nice, friendly and personable. He also is very helpful. I asked if he had larger Yeti (s)? He showed me a couple of the designs which I texted to my daughter. It was more than 40 oz so quite large, too big to carry. I ended up buying the one she wanted (36 oz) and the print she wanted in white! Mark was helpful to find me a box because I was flying to LA tomorrow! After work I stopped by Kahala Mall to check out T&C surf. I needed to buy a friend a T-shirt for Christmas gift. There was a sale going on buy one at the regular price get the 2nd shirt half off. I scored because guess who's getting the 2nd shirt Yes me ha ha . This location recently renovated its nicer and has lots of merchandise to choose from. This location in Kahala Mall has a table with Pre-package Christmas gifts for sale . I thought that was cool because if you needed to buy that last minute gift that everyone has done it before this is the place to go . While having lunch at Kahala Mall yesterday, I decided to pop into T&C Surf Designs to pick up a shirt for my friend..........it's been a long time since I walked into a surf shop, as I don't have much time these dayz to enjoy my back yard water park. Lucky for me, I was greeted right away, and the clerks were very friendly in assisting me on finding a shirt I was looking for to give to my friend. I was pretty amazed as how much has remained the same through the years, yet there are a lot of stuff that surf shops carries now, that weren't there when I was a kid! When I was waiting in line to check out & pay for my items, I noticed some old skool surf wax - Mr. Zogs Sex Wax. I remember buying this stuff for my boards back in da dayz, but now, besides surf wax, they actually make an air freshener. My, how times have changed...........but that's a good thing. And the girl who was helping me told be of another brand of wax that the surfers now use for their boards, instead of Mr. Zogs............ Knowing myself, if I ever got back into the water..............old habits are hard to break, Mr. Zogs would be the wax of choice for me! Lol! Looking for surf gear? I needed to exchange a shirt I bought at another location. I called to ask for directions since I'm visiting and didn't know this area. The female employee was very helpful guiding me to their store. I was looking for shirts for my nephew for his birthday; Lia was very helpful. She gave me suggestions on what high school aged boys might like. They didn't have his size in one of the two shirts I wanted; she checked online and found that their Kapolei store had it. She requested that they transfer that shirt to the Kahala store and put the other shirt on hold for me. (She said it would take at least three days.) She called this week to say they had both shirts, and I asked if they could hold it for me until Friday. I said I would try to get there before then. (I went today to pick them up.) In addition, I saw the "Eddie Went" t-shirts which I decided to get too. Again, they had one in the size I needed, and Lia called their Ala Moana store. Love that the staff are wearing face shields and have hand sanitizer at the entrance. Very good staff and awesome products available for the Holiday season. From surf to skate accessories, surfboards and apparel, they got everything. The store is renovated and clean so it looks very different but I enjoy the new design! I came in to buy my son a birthday present and I left with a good attitude and my gift in hand! The store employee told me exactly what kind of Go pro head mount we needed and all the details about it. I will definitely be back for future gifts for family members and friends. I was looking for tiny slippers for my granddaughter...I went to all of the baby stores and could not find any....T&C Ward had them. The sales staff there is really nice and helpful. They showed me the tiny slippers and helped me pick out a couple...they also called another on of their stores to see if they might have a better selection. T&C has been at this mall for decades, always a staple for beach worthy, sun soaking gear. They did a renovation in the last couple years and the store is so much more well organized. They have a wide selection of womens and mens beach fashion as well as hats, slippers, boards, Yeti and other temperature controlled gear and so much more. Hydroflask has been in the market for some time now. A co worker of mine has been using his for as long as I can remember, so I decided to buy one here. I know that T&C Surf Designs has been at this Kahala Mall location for as long as I have been alive on this planet. Or at least 20 solid years. I've shopped here off and on during my high school days and college times and it's still here going strong. On this most recent visit, I wanted to shop for a Hydro flask and the company's website says that the store was a distributor of the product, so I decide to shop around here and the neighboring whole Foods for price comparison. I finally decide to shop here because T&C Surf Designs is a good local company has been around for decades here and they ain't going anywhere. It's always great to support local businesses, compared to the large cleaning stores that do business here. I ultimately you got a 40 ounce hydroflask that was colored red and it cost around $40-around the same as I would have gotten it on online at the company's website or on Amazon.com. The overall experience here at T&C Surf Designs was as nice and chill as you can expect. They typically sell ocean related gear and clothing, but the hydroflask is what I wanted on this most recent trip. The store itself is set up nicely and there was a little bit of air conditioning in the store. Although the entrance was open, you could not really feel the difference anyway. For the most part though, the purchase was good and positive. This T&C Surf Design shop is located in Kahala Mall, near center stage and the theaters. It's address is 4211 Waialae Avenue in the Kahala area. They accept major credit cards, which is great for me since I do cashless most of the time. Since this retail store is at the mall, there is plenty of parking around the complex, so you should not be inconvenienced. Although, I would advise not to come here during peak times to get yourselves a parking spot. If you are like me, TheBus routes 1, 1L, 14, 22, 23, and 24 come through the area and provides service to the mall. For the most part though, I knew what I wanted already - for this latest purchase, so I just helped myself with the 40 oz hydroflask. I had shopped around online Whole Foods, but at the end of the day, the prices were roughly around the same. I just paid for convenience when I wanted it right then and now. For what it's worth though, I was happy to support local businesses that offers the same product as the corporations of the world - even if I had to pay a little bit more. The service was nice and made small talk with the dude behind the counter. Made me feel good about this purchase. Overall, can't complain. Recommend this place for all your Ocean / surfing needs as well as the hydroflask stuff too. 4.0 stars overall. It was a quick trip. Won't be the last. Support local! B+ read more

Backpack? Water bottle? Swim gear? Accessories? Great customer service? You need not go any further. What a great place to find great quality products. They have an assortment of bags, bottles and anything else you may need for the beach or school. The prices are a bit high for me, but you are paying for the brand and durability. Love that the employees seem to know their stuff as to what works and what doesn't. I also appreciate the fact that they offer suggestions on products. Their store seems spotless and organized which helps to find things too. Customer service is terrible. Went in the store today to buy 2 hydroflask tops that come with the straw. Three girls are off my the shirts talking story and I ask her if I can pay for it over there. She tells me I have to pay for it on the other side where there is one cashier and she is slammed with a long line. I put the caps back and walked out. Taking my business elsewhere. Be careful when buying the hydro flask straps. Mine didn't even fit over the lip of the bottle, much less over the rim it's supposed to sit under. I stretched it a lot and finally got it over the lip but it wouldn't budge any further. When I tried to exchange it, the girl said it was because I didn't stretch it enough. After she tried and could barely get it over the lip, she simply said we can't do anything unless you have a receipt. I had already explained that I live on another island and I've always come to this store for my hydro (and GoPro) needs. So it has taken me two months to return for an exchange. With that being said, I think it's obvious that her customer service could be improved. At first I was made to feel like it was my fault for not being able to stretch it. Then she tried to get a hydro off the rack to prove me wrong. After she realized it was no fault of my own(and after some struggling) she says they won't exchange it. I forgot to mention I had called about a month ago and was told to "just bring it in." I guess that wasn't the case... Bottom line, they sell defective items and then won't make things right. read more

Called in to see if they had DaKine backpacks in stock. The phone was answered quickly, the girl was super nice and very helpful, and they put the bag on hold for me. I came in later that evening, gave the guy at the counter my name, and he found my bag immediately -- in and out of the store in less than five minutes. The price was the same as the MSRP and not much different than the prices I found online (once you factor in shipping). Buying locally is so much easier when things are in stock, sales people are helpful, and prices are competitive! read more

I went in to their shop at the mall with my nephew who was looking for a rash guard yesterday. It's a nice a place! Friendly staff. All the cool stuff (even though I'm an old guy, they still had some REALLY NICE aloha kine shirts in that place! I almost bought a couple). But, what really struck me odd was that the merchandise was reasonably priced. The prices weren't near as bad as I thought they would be. They weren't bad at all for the quality product being sold. Other than that, the staff are really friendly and are always willing to help you with your selection. Prices are not too bad, they're reasonable and there's periodic sales. I haven't shopped in T&C since middle school which was over two decades ago. I'm definitely not a surfer/beach chick but after I got wind of their amazing hydroflask selection, I beelined it down. I've been obsessed with hydroflasks lately and had my heart set on the 40oz in blue. I know, T&C is not the first place you would think of going for a hydroflask, but surfers need water too (not just salt water). When I went yesterday, they had 21 oz, 32 oz and 40 oz in EVERY color-even the ones not on the hydroflask website. I found out later that the 32oz isn't on the website either. The workers were suuuper cool and helped me decide between the 32oz and 40oz using their own personal experiences. There was some definite math and analytical thinking that took place leading me to my final decision. (The 40oz is a few bucks cheaper than Whole Foods for those who interested) I'm in love with my newest hydroflask- 32oz in blue :) read more

Love T&C surf. I have been shopping here for years! I just made this account strictly to write a review for T&C Kahala. I did some Christmas shopping here recently and I just wanted to mention the return policy since I was close to not being able to get a full refund this year! Usually the return policy is: can get full refund within 14 days of purchase so long as it can be resold and has tags attached/receipt. For Christmas this year: Starting from Black Friday till 14 days after Christmas, you can get your full refund. I thought it was a very fair return policy... I just almost missed it...oops. Haven't gone here in years and my wife wanted to get some board shorts. we walk into the store and it looked very organized and stocked. The sales people were very quick to acknowledge you and say "HI"! i walked up to the cash register and ask the girl where the women's board shorts were. instead of just pointing and telling me. she took us over to the area where the board shorts were, asked for my wife's size, picked out a couple different styles and also went to open the fitting room for my wife. after she went to open the fitting room she came to tell us it was open for whenever my wife was ready to try on some of the shorts. after my wife tried on some shorts and came back, the girl came back to check on us. WOW! service i never thought i would expect from a surf shop. it wasn't busy, but it wasn't slow, so i'm just very impressed on their service and will definitely come back here to shop. There was one point in my life, specifically teenage years, when I shopped at TnC Surf Designs for my usual local attire. This was the go to shop for me. Getting stuff from this place is also very good and popular during the Christmas season. But anyways, other than just TnC Surf Designs being known for their local brand as being "Oahu's" local surf brand, they have a lot of stuff that they sell. They have everything from local kine style swimgear, board shorts, surfboards, surf gear, wallets, longsleeves, slippers, fins, hydroflask brands, Go Pro gear, hats, caps, beanie, bikinis, stickers, tank tops, and just choke more stuff. This store is located in Kahala Mall more towards across Jamba Juice, the gelato place, Thinker Toys, etc. The staff and customer service is pretty good. The prices for everything are decent. The best deals are during their sidewalk sales, you can get some pretty good deals on clothing. read more

Granted, they do have good surf products and all (very nice and organized but might say a little pricey) but for some reason the staff in this T&C seems a little unhelpful, unfriendly and unprofessional. Never greeted with a smile or offered any help. That's why every time I need some surf gear I just won't go there. Best customer service ever! Employees are mostly friendly, even when they're busy. Went in to get my leash put into my board (was too scared to do it myself) and when the store slowed down, a taller bald employee (forgot to ask for his name) offered to do it for me and show me how. He was very friendly and answered all of my look questions. He did it for free and when I tried to tip him he didn't accept it and told me as long as I'm stoked he's happy. read more

If you want to be under SUSPICION for ripping off a pair of board shorts because the salesperson at T & C Surf at Kahala Mall forgot to take off the security tag, by all means shop here! If you DON'T EXPECT AN APOLOGY for their mistake, for the inconvenience THEY caused you, this is the place! In my wrapping haste, didn't notice the security tag was still attached. Went to exchange it for another size as well. Now, how many times do I have to answer the question, "so, you don't have the receipt?" Or," so, when did you buy it?" All this before any sort of ownership that they are the ones who made a mistake. I offered to go home to get my bank statement. Then "manager" says no need, we can look it up on the register. Then he walked away. Yup, no apologies. If you decide to shop here, beware, there will be accusations and suspicions even if they are in the wrong.
