(This is a 4.5 star review) Syndicated has quickly turned into one of my favorite places for an outing-whether it be a solo-date, friendship date, or date date- this place never disappoints. The interior is quite industrial, but it has a trendiness to it that can only be described by visiting. Although I don't often sit at the bar, I totally would if I lived closer to Williamsburg and had the opportunity to visit more often. The movies are often lesser-known, with the exception of some bigger names and you really can't beat $10 tickets. I don't often drink here (although they sound super interesting with names like "drag me to hell" and "lady snowblood"), but the food/snacks I've ordered, while not anything breathtaking, really do the trick for a movie snack. I'm a huge fan of cheese fries and the waffle cheese fries ($10) I got here were greasy, cheese, salty, and crispy and paired with a cold coke-were great. My only qualm about Syndicated is the movie selection. I'm not sure how many theaters there are, but there are very limited options so it's a bummer when I'm dying to go there but am not thrilled about the (typically two) options that are available at any given time. Definitely do recommend a visit though, even just to broaden your exposure to various films. read more

I'm not a film snob like the guy I met in a film class in 2007 who said No Country For Old Men was "ok for an American film." But I do have certain strong opinions about the moviegoing process. Who knew how good I had it going to the Utopia Theater in Queens in the 1980s? I'm not into modern "enhancements" like being able to get Buffalo wings at the movies, or recliners (I would still hold that belief even if it wasn't for occasional incidents of shoelessness). So I may not be the target audience here. When I saw here for Kyle Mooney's Y2K, I was alone and in the front row, so maybe I would have enjoyed the experience more under different conditions. But I'll never be into the idea of distractions during a first-time viewing, might be different if you're watching Trading Places for the 8th time. The procedures here seemed less smooth than at Nitehawk. I've avoided Alamo Drafthouse on principle but maybe I need to adopt the different principle of being a broad-based reviewer. However, even though I believe movies and food shouldn't be combined, I still endorse the Hot Mess chicken sandwich here. read more

I used to come here a lot more like 2019 and sort of when they first opened. Now, I don't really go out of my way to see indie films or just rare chances to see certain movies. Would just say I am a Regal and AMC movie watcher and that is it. In the past, I did find the service to be pretty good, maybe a few nights when they had a free movie or certain promotional thing, crowd got kind of annoying or just busy beyond belief. It was definitely a more expensive experience than your average night at a Regal or AMC theater. read more

This is such a cool place! I love that you can get a drink and a bite to eat while watching old time movies. Or, you can choose to go to their theatre and watch a movie and eat. The lounge part is big and beautiful. The seating consists of tables and booths. I met two of my friends there and we sat in a booth. I love that they had a mocktail menu. I ordered the hibiscus mule. I really enjoyed it. My friends enjoyed their drinks as well. I was also pleased that they had non alcoholic beer. For food we ordered cauliflower wings off of the happy hour menu, fried pickles, and loaded fries. The apps were good. I would love to try a full entree maybe next time. I am honestly not sure if when I will go next because I live in queens and Brooklyn is a trek. read more

THIS PLACE IS HAUNTED. 1. it was $10 Martini monday and they had a selection to choose from, spicy, pickle, dirty and a basil variety. These were the absolute worst martinis Ive ever had in all of New York City ( its technically a movie theater so I didnt have the highest expections but they still didnt meet them....) 2. its super vintage and 70s inspired architecture and decor, but the lighting and music were spooky and added to the ghostly unsettling aura 3. Someone got scammed directly at the front door for a fake $50 but they went through the double doors in and out of the theater and the guy wasnt seen walking down the street or walking in OR out of the theater it was freaky 4. Customers next to me were describing their bathroom experience as horrifying becase they didnt hear anyone enter after them or wash their hands or anything but the lights went out in each stall and they were left in pitch black darkness... 5. When I went into the restroom I had a similar experience, I was the only one in there when I entered andmy friends confirmed that no one came in after me ... as soon as I locked my restroom door after fumbling with the loose lock-someone or something jangled my door knob. I heard no footsteps or doors open or close, no one using the restroom... right before I go to unlock my stall door after peeing, again the same thing someone or something jangling my door knob... I step out and no one was there.... I went home unsettled vowing not to step foot back inside, I get on google and reddit and Syndicated used to be a crematorium and a morgue that underwent a million dollar reservation into the space it is now. The owners know the history and thats why they chose to keep it a vintage, 70s theme... to keep the ghosts entertained maybe ? read more

Oh my goodness!! There is so much to share! I'll start with the space, it is absolutely gorgeous and intimate; the signs upon entry are super nostalgic. The eating space was wonderfully designed with booths, wall sconces, an amazing bar centerpiece and wonderful flicks playing on the walls as you take the space in. I personally prefer retro films and indie productions, so this felt like the perfect fit! The food inside is ordered using index cards which I loved and found a bit quirky. My date and I got the burger with fries, the bbq pork sliders, the fried mozzarella and the fig lemonade. I didn't try the burger personally but heard that the taste was not as desired (and my date LOVES burgers). I felt the sliders were just okay (4/10); I wish there was more bbq sauce on the side because the meat was bit dry. However, the fig lemonade was delicious and the fried mozzarella was so delicious!! I would go back to get 2 orders of them next time. Even with those minor things, I loved this place and I will be doing back very very soon!! read more

What a fun place. How did I not know about it sooner; was surprised when bartender informed us they'd been in business for eight years. Had some very tasty and suitably spicy wings in the dazzling displayed bar. Was not there for a movie but happy to see that what was playing (Anora) was sold out! Attended this space for a private event (Wine Festival) and loved the classic feel offered by it's high ceilings and full acoustics. I do think it could use some TLC in the way of new cushions for seating. Overall, I would definitely return to Syndicated to see their scene. The simple unisex bathroom consists of multiple, private stalls which are aplenty. There is a very decent sized theater in the rear left of the venue, which is a great bonus. The dining room surrounds the bar which is in front of the open concept industrial kitchen. The dining room itself has different sections some of which are elevated and could come in handy for big reservations. While the private event I attended was catered, I could see that Syndicate takes food seriously. The equipment was meticulous and the staff was effective with their timing and making sure we were all happy. I'd definitely go back to check it out. read more

Syndicated is a neighborhood staple take it from me, from one movie nerd to another. I assume your a movie nerd cause you're reading this review. They always have the cheap seats for the movies you know you want to see but somehow completely slept on but they come in and save the day. The movies here are only $10.50 after the fee. That's a steal. They just ask the name of the card when you arrive. Arrive early to snag a good seat. The front row is very close. And give them your credit card to open the tab. Popcorn is only $5 and they even have old bay or curry seasoning. I've also enjoyed the cauliflower. Happy hour is 5pm until 7pm so come to an early showing. Wednesday must be the popular night with the $10 off all wine bottles! Damn!! I have been here a ton. I was actually there tonight. And as a heads up.... Bring Proof of Vaccination. Don't be that person. They are just doing their job. So wake up and bring it or don't come. Thanks to my waiter for waiting to put my order in for my popcorn. It made it a very nice evening for me, after the riff raff excited. Also----people! Be quiet in the theater. We came to hear the movie not your friend's latest conquest. Shout out to Syndicated for playing movies outdoors last summer. Safely gave us something to do. I enjoyed "Harold and Maude" and the oh so perfect "Romeo +Juliet" (1996 version, of course). Always wanted to come here and finally made it. (Not for the movie though, def next time!) Love the Hot Mess Chicken Sandwich, and it's only $12! My friend got the Grill Chicken Sandwich, it was full of fried shredded onion and the chicken was quite small. Love the Baked Empanadas as well. I'm a big fan of Syndicated. Food, drinks, vibes, are all pretty good! I've never actually watched a movie in the theatre, so I can only speak to the bar experience. I've stopped by here a few times for drinks & food, and their fries & nacho fries, chickpea salad, and empanadas have all been pretty good. It's not life-changing by any means, but if you find that you need or want to order food here after having a few drinks, you won't be disappointed. I've only ever had gin & tonics here, but they make those pretty good as well. The bartenders are friendly as well. I'm a big fan of the space -- the bar & the tower (?) in the middle of it is gorgeous, and it's really cool that they have movies playing in the background, even some old favorites (I think I saw Spirited Away playing one time!). Would definitely recommend stopping by for a drink or bite in such a lovely spot. read more

My friend filled me in about this place that has outdoor sidewalk movie screenings and I have been three times so far. I really adore the set up, which boasts actual heat lamps with actual fire, which kept me warm the entire time I was there. This place shows a different movie each night at 5:30PM and 8PM. It is first come first serve, so I recommend arriving 1 hour prior to the start time. There is no cost, but you are expected to order something to eat or drink. The first time I went was to see "Phantom Thread." My friend and I sat within the tent like covering, which helped to block out the wind. We ordered the Nacho Fries to share, which came with mozzarella, pickled red onions, roasted tomato aioli all on top of waffle fries. This was delicious and the flavors came together well. The waffle fries were nicely seasoned, delightfully crispy, and worked as a great base. There was plenty of melty cheese, and the sauce was wonderfully savory and tasty. The fresh pickled red onions added an element of additional crunch and elevated the flavors. I also came to watch "A Christmas Story" with a friend and she had a lovely time. I ordered the arepas with pulled pork and gouda cheese, however this item was no longer on the menu. I asked if they had any pulled pork and viola, our waiter inquired and they were able to make what I requested, which I really appreciated. The arepas were grilled, and a little different than the type I am used to eating. There was a good amount of pulled pork in between, but was a bit bland. It was, however, tender and juice. The gouda tasted yummy with the pulled pork. My most recent visit was to see "Tenet," which I was pretty excited about because it's a new movie. I came with 5 friends about an hour and a half before the movie started, however, all the seating areas with tables were already full. Thankfully, there was a section with benches in front of where they were projecting the movie, so we all fit there. This time I didn't order much food because I was full from my 3-course lunch I had earlier, but I got to try the butter popcorn. It was okay, but way too buttery and a bit softer than I like. There is a decent variety of food, ranging from snacks, sandwiches, salad, sweets {including milkshakes in the summer, which I simply cannot wait to try}, as well as tacos and more. The prices for food and drinks are reasonable... Almost everything is below $12. I definitely plan on returning with different friends throughout the coming months. read more

Love thats it's near some thrift stores so you can get your shopping at L train vintage nearby or meander to other happenings. Huge bar. Lots of seating at the bar plus tables around the bar and outside. They have two projectors inside showing movies and one outside as well. Awesome spot for large groups. I had a cocktail and some of their house made cookies. Cookies were a little over done but we're still soft and gooey as fresh cookies should be. Cocktail was great. Movies are great and very cheap. Amazing space and is fun. However the food is expensive for warmed up hamburgers and is some of the worst food I have eaten in NY. If they don't have any real cooks it shouldn't cost that much. Otherwise they should just have more simple food. Don't get the burger or chicken sandwich. I just stick to waffle fries. read more

Had a great time at Syndicated Bar Theater Kitchen on Thursday night. Definitely recommend for trivia night, but also just for a fun time watching movies and enjoying drinks. Quality: Easy to be enamored with a place that does everything well. While I complain a bit about the smaller size cocktail, Jessica, Only Child, Illinois, Chicago, was delicious. The beer selection is pretty great with lots of variety and local options. Plenty of snacks and the larger entrees looked good, I was tempted by the burger. What I did enjoy were a few bites of the Crispy Cauliflower, one of the better versions I have had, as well as the delicious Fried Mozzarella. Quantity: Cocktails were a bit small, but everything else was pretty standard. Value: $14-$16 for Cocktails. $5-$9 for Draft Beers. $12 for Crispy Cauliflower. $10 for Fried Mozzarella. Ambiance: Syndicated Bar Theater Kitchen is everything in its name, a large bar and movie theater in Bushwick. They have all sorts of unique events as well as movies that play both inside and out. We came to the kitchen and bar for a trivia night, which was a production itself. A super fun night where they played movie clips on the wall for the enjoyment of all. A great place even without the chaos of trivia. Crowd: Packed for trivia night. Arrived half an hour early and every table was full and most of the bar space as well. My friend stumbled upon this location as we were looking for places to go to since things were not opened or closed early due to remembering the events of September 11. It was cool that the bar had it's own intimate theater and we were able to snag the last two tickets to the showing of "The Farewell", which could be purchased online as well. Inside the theaterit looked like it fit about 30+ people that had to be paired up when sitting since there are little tables to use for your food and drinks you order for the movie. The screen was big and the wall in front of us prevented me from seeing the bottom of the screen since I sit a bit short hehe The servers were really nice and quick in getting in our orders and getting them to us. I got some popcorn and a drink since I'm a sucker for popcorn with movies, buy they had other appetizers and food items too. The film and we alright to me, but definitely wouldn't mind coming back here to try out their other food selections and maybe even try to go their for one of their quiz nights during a future visit to NY. read more

This is one of those places that remind you how lucky you are to live in New York City. It's also at the top of my list of places to take non-believers of "traveling to Brooklyn"! Drinks are creatively named and inspired by hit movies. They're strong and delicious. The best part is arguably the space, which is massive and truly a gem in the city. I loved how seamless it was to transfer my tab. Only con is that their tech doesn't seamlessly allow for giftcards, both booking my ticket and paying at the end. It wasn't a major deal but seems like a missed opportunity on the business side to not intentionally allow people to book tickets or pay in the theater with a giftcard. The place has a small movie theater behind the bar area. Unfortunately, we did not have time to check it out, but I believe there is a schedule for a month in advance for movies, and you can purchase tickets at the bar and online. Drinks and food are available to order from the many. The bar area is spacious and comfortable. There are also lots of tables if you choose to have some privacy. The bartender takes all orders, and then they bring your food to the table. When it comes to the food, everything is super simple, burgers, wings, fries. Husband ordered a decent burger, nothing special. I got hot wings and cauliflower. I enjoyed wings; cauliflower not so much thought it would be more crispy. Reserve your tickets online the week of the show or before, just show up, go to the theater in the back and pick seats. I have never had a good experience here. The only reason I give 2 stars is because there were a couple good beers last time I went...the times before that the beer wasn't very good. On a recent visit, the food and service was disappointing. I was excited about Nacho Fries on the menu, but upon reading the description found their was nothing "nacho" about them, instead it was red pepper mayonnaise and pickled onions. No problem I thought since they have tacos, etc., I asked if I could have the tostada toppings on the fries instead. Nope. Why? Manager said they are from "two different stations in the kitchen". In other words, it was asking for too much to take fries from one place in the kitchen to wherever the tostadas are made. I understand all special requests can't be honored, but refusing to put toppings onto fries instead of a tortilla seems unreasonable. Manager also said the kitchen was too busy, however it is a big and open kitchen, and that didn't seem to be the case at all (I have worked in food service many years.) I ended up getting fries nevertheless and did not think they were very good, for the record. read more

Definitely get here early if you want to get a good table for outdoor movie viewing - we came here 30 minutes early and were luckily able to snag the last open spot. Not all the tables are created equal, and there are some where you definitely will struggle to see and hear. If you came here because you are watching a must see movie, I'd suggest preparing to be slightly disappointed. But it's still a fun time, no matter where you sit, especially for summer evenings! Omg what can I say this place is awesome! It's a great place to meet up have cocktails, eat and catch movie. The drinks are awesome and the atmosphere is in my opinion industrial which I love! The prices were on par and it's just not enough I can say about this place! I cannot wait to return and enjoy more as we were just visiting and happened to walk in. The bartenders were a step above making drinks that was out of this world and let me tell you I was #DragMeToHell drink in love!
