I had a good experience ordering an engraved knife as a gift through Swiss Knife Shop. I ordered a couple weeks before I needed the engraved knife and selected expedited shipping because I really needed to have it in time for a trip. The knife arrived earlier than promised, but the engraving had dark marks on some of the letters and it looked sloppy. I contacted them, and they immediately shipped a replacement knife. The new knife came via 2-day shipping. It looks fantastic, and I will be able to give the gift on the trip where it is sure to be a hit with the 10 year old getting his first swiss army knife. Even though we had this problem, since the shipping was faster than promised both times I ended up receiving the knife on the original timeline. Since the problem was resolved immediately and without hassle, I am rating the experience as 5 stars. read more

LIARS, CHEATS AND SCAM ARTISTS. Ordered an in stock Leatherman from Amazon 12/26/19, didnt pay attention and failed to notice it was from a third party dealer, Swiss Knife Shop, m they took my money instantly and "shipped" it 5 days later, the tracking number showed it had hit my city distributor but the next day it showed that it hadn't even left their shipping dept. When it hadn't shown up a week later I contacted them, asking for a refund, they told me I have to first send back the item, at my expense, in order to be issued a refund. If I had the knife to ship back, I wouldnt be asking for a refund. So now I'm out $160 dollars until Amazon gets off its butt and sorts the whole debacle. read more

I ordered from them...not because of their rather frightening selection of knives, but because they have a great selection of SIGG water bottles. I wanted a particular design that, for whatever reason, was listed on Amazon but not available for purchase anywhere on the website. The Swiss Knife Shop had that bottle, and several others that I hadn't seen in stores anywhere. I feel that, if I am going to invest in a $20 water bottle, it should be one that really says something about me...and is also not the same as the bottles other members of my lab group have chosen to invest in. I ordered a knife as a gift that was engraved. The box came opened up and no directions on how to place the battery in the knife. I was told that the Swiss decided to go paperless so I have to go look up how to put the battery in. The knife quality is poor. Compared to same size knifes I ordered from other sites. Because it is engraved no way to send it back. Now I have a $50.00 knife I cant send back and its headed for the trash. No way I would give this as a gift. Better to order from another reliable vendor and have it engraved locally- at least you will be able to send it back if you get a poor quality knife and poor service. read more

Save yourself the headace and trouble of giving this company your personal and financial information! these guys changed shipping dates to make them earlier than they actually are to induce buyers to submit to them personal information and steal money before the HOLIDAYS!... they originally listed an items availability for shipping "early 2013" then changed it to Dec. 18 a couple days before Dec 18th! i sent in my order then they CHARGED ME FOR OUT OF STOCK items and AFTER i was charged to my account, sent me an email telling me they were out of stock and wont be in until AFTER the 1st of January! Not even a specific date just "after the 1st" Great so they took my money and think they can hold it for an indefinite time while they get the item in stock I THINK NOT! They changed the date on the 15 of Dec. to make it seem like you could get it before Christmas just to cash in on the HOLIDAY RUSH! So they KNEW it was out of stock for at least a month and changed the date anyway! Im not a creditor! Ordered a multi-tool from here for my BF's bday, with engraving. Was a little weary after not hearing from them for 5 days (after they had charged my card) because I looked up the reviews and saw a couple that were fishy on here. I sent an email, and didn't hear back so the next morning I called their customer service line. After speaking with a very helpful representative (Maybe named Shayna? I do not remember) it was explained to me that there was an issue with their auto-mail. She gave me the tracking and it turns out that my knife was on it's way. She also instantly refunded me $2 (I literally received the email in 5 seconds), because they chose a faster, cheaper shipping option to my location. There could have been a little more transparency in the beginning of my order, but everything tied up nicely in a less than 5 minute phone call. I'd say no need to worry, but would give extra time if you want to order from them. read more

I placed an order on Dec 5th for an engraved pocket knife and sheath for my son for Christmas. After several days of hearing nothing, I went on-line to check my order status, which showed the knife had been shipped, but the sheath was on back-order. No big deal, I thought. The knife is the important part. However, after more than a week with no delivery, I decided to call customer service on Dec 19th for the tracking number. As it turns out, the knife had not shipped, but was being held to marry up with the sheath, which had since arrived in stock. The customer service rep assured me the package containing both items would have the shipping method upgraded to ensure I received it before Christmas. The very next day I received an email indicating it had been shipped, but the scheduled delivery was for Dec 28th!!!! Now I have to purchase another gift for Christmas and give my son his knife on another occasion. Anyone can make a mistake, but my experience reveals a comedy of errors. I have to ask myself whether or not I would order something from the Swiss Knife Shop again. I guess that would depends on how the knife looks when it arrives. Hopefully it looks fine and everything is spelled correctly. Even then, I'd never rely on them when timing was important. You'd think 3 weeks would have been enough time. The customer service rep credited me for shipping, but $8 is pretty small gesture given the inconvenience I experienced. read more

DECEPTIVE SHIPPING POLICY.., Actually I take that back, its not deceptive, they outright lie. Placed an order Friday Dec 15th, with 2 days shipping at an extra cost of $19.95, so obviously it should deliver Tuesday. I called Monday to check, it had not shipped, not a big problem as I don't need the item till Thursday anyway, so they promise to ship it Monday, so a 2 day delivery should deliver Wednesday. No delivery Wednesday, I email them no response. After a lengthy and rather rude phone call with their customer service rep (maybe she is fed up dealing with customers complaining) I find out they shipped it USPS priority mail....priority mail is not a 2 day service, not a guaranteed service at all. 2 day service would mean, UPS second day, or Fed Ex 2nd day.....but oh that would cost real money to ship it that way...and they dont want to spend what you actually pay for expedited shipping. Be honest on your website, if two day shipping is not going to be shipped the correct way then either don't offer it, or offer it and do it the correct way with a real 2 day service. read more

Stay away... My wife ordered a Leatherman Rebar for me as a surprise Christmas gift. Only to have the item "preparing for shipment" for two weeks. She was given a date that would make it before the holiday. But instead of the seller saying they have no more, they took the order anyway. Tried to reach out to seller (via Amazon's suggestion) and she got the run around. She rarely uses Amazon but this was an experience that we both would rather deal with. I had a different, but similar, experience as to Damien R. below. I made an order on December 16, 2017 and did not pay the ridiculous $19.95 surcharge for a tool that cost $35. Their web site said that they ship in 1 to 2 business days so I thought it might arrive before Christmas, but If the item came several days after Christmas that would be fine. Although they charged the purchase on my credit card on December 16 they didn't bother to send the order out until Dec 27, 2017. It didn't arrive until January 3, 2018, eighteen days after I placed it. If I had ordered it from Amazon Prime (I am a member) it would have reached me by December 20 or 21 at the latest without the absurd $19.95 surcharge. I try to buy from small outfits whenever possible. How does this outfit stay in business. read more

Had a horrible experience with their website, I'll keep it short. Ordered an in stock item on 12/6. On 12/10 I was told that it was out of stock but I would receive it before Christmas regardless because I followed their shipping guidelines and they would restock it. I emailed them back to confirm I would receive the item and let them know I would substitute a different color of the knife if the one I wanted wouldn't arrive before Christmas. I received a reply back (with no name of a customer service rep., by the way) stating that I would receive it before Christmas. 6 days later I was informed the knife wouldn't be back in stock and I wouldn't be receiving it before Christmas. And they would automatically charge me and ship it after the holiday if I didn't cancel the order. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Deceptive shipping policy and lazy owners and management. I ordered Christmas presents on December 13th for my employees and paid $350 for products and $14 for 3-day shipping. It's December 21st and the shipment did not show up again today. They took the order knowing they could not deliver the product in time for my company Christmas party. The order was placed December 13th but didn't ship until the 17th!! However, they sent me an email on the 15th saying my order was on the way! How could it be on the way if it didn't ship until the 17th? I call that being a liar. This place is a joke. Don't do business with them. So I placed an order for a leatherman plus knife with engraving for an anniversary gift, payed about $10 for 3 day shipping and was expected to receive a tracking email in about 5 days or so (there was a disclaimer stating engraving was gonna take an extra 3-5 days). So the next day, mid afternoon I receive an email stating that my package already had a tracking number, which made me a little concerned because the disclaimer stated that I was going to wait for engraving so I called customer service (super sweet lady), and she told me that my knife was engraved and already shipped out! Amazed at the exceptional service, I HAD TO come make a positive review because i saw so many bad reviews , so don't be discouraged new customers of Swiss knife shop! I placed an order on monday and hadn't heard anything (though I was charged) until Friday. I e-mailed them on Wednesday asking about the processing time but never got a response. I paid with pay-pal so I wasn't concerned about my money. Based on these reviews, basically any claim they make about their shipping is likely a lie, it seems. I doubt they're out to STEAL your money, but they clearly seem to be hoping to extract a few extra sales by puffing up their shipping and stocking practices (which it seems more likely are determined by cost rather than any online guarantee). I will say, however, that my leatherman knife was a good deal comparitively. Free shipping and low cost are good by me, but then again, I wasn't counting on it for anything. So buy at your own risk. If you're hoping to get it in time for some event, better order somewhere else. If you're just out for a deal with cheap shipping, then this may be the right store. read more

AVOID THIS SELLER. I purchased a knife as a gift from SwissKnifeShop.com in December 2016. All seemed ok but when the sealed knife was opened we found it did not have all the features claimed on the website. The swiss army logo on the handle was white, not silver metal as pictured/ordered. Disappointing since engraving was requested in silver which does not match! I called Swiss Knife Shop about this and Natalie wanted me to return it. Return a gift already given - not happening! I want a 100% refund. $35 is a cheap price to pay for proofreading that could avoid future lawsuits. I have not heard back from Natalie yet in spite of assurances. Will be enquiring with Swiss Army Knife HQ in Switzerland about this MISREPRESENTATION of their products. AVOID THIS SELLER. read more

I recently placed an order for the Victorinox 5 piece knife set, which the store had $20 cheaper than the next competitor before shipping was even taken into account. When it arrived the knives were all present but the sharpener part of the set was missing. I contacted them and got the matter resolved in 15 minutes, with them sending out a replacement sharpening steel without any issues. Polite, competent, expedient customer service had my resolved, and a happy customer who will be recommending this store to friends and family. Keep up the good work! read more

NO matter how many sort criteria you enter you still get EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN THE CATALOG. If I have to manually scroll through every single item, I might as well drive across town and go to a retailer and pay their markup for the service of handing me the product I need. Ordered a camping knife for my son who is a Boy Scout for a Christmas gift on 12/09/10 and followed up with a telephone call the next day to make sure knife would be sent before Christmas and was ensured it would. Called again six days later to check on the status and was told it was backed-ordered or out-of-stock and it might not be sent in time for Christmas. Then got an email 12/18/10 stating the item would not be shipped in time for Christmas. Not like waiting to the last minute to notify a customer. This will be the last order that I place with your company. When I ordered my daughters gift the cnfirmaton said that the order would be shipped in 2-3 business days. I ordered on the 9th. It states on your "Get it under the tree" that I should pay more for shipping if ordering on or after the 11th. So I opted for the free shipping since it didn't say that I needed to. At that time it would have cost me an additional $8 to get it in time. On December 18th I called since I didn't get any updates. I was told that it hadn't shipped yet since I didn't upgrade the shipping. Molly said that if I paid the $19 now for 2 day ups then I would get it in time. I feel like my order was held hostage until I paid more. You had my order for 9 days and didn't do anything with it. I paid the $19 even though I don't think I should have. I want the gift. But this is the last time I will do business with this company and I will put this out on all social media. This is a horrible business practice. The knife came in 2 days before Christmas and was exactly what I ordered but it cost me $19 more than I should have paid. I sent this message via email on December 18th. I got an automated message but never got any personal message addressing my complaint. So it appears that this company doesn't care about customer feedback. read more
