    $169 Obermeyer ski pants that ripped on the first time using them. Was not allowed to return.

    TLDR; the store sold me a pair of ski pants that ripped after one fall and would not let me return them. Edit: I realize that the store does not set the prices, that the manufacturer does. And I'm going to give Obermeyer an earful as well. But still. Work with your customers instead of against them. I've been coming to Proctor for a few years now. The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and they helped me pick out a new pair of boots back in 2019. My boyfriend and I just went last weekend and bought a bunch of new gear for the season & got tune-ups, and we easily dropped nearly $1000 at the store in that one visit. I bought a pair of Obermeyer Milan Stretch Ski Pants for $169 and wore them for the first time yesterday. I had a fall/accident on a trail and the pants ripped in the knee. I understand that this is the manufacturers "fault," and technically not the fault of the store. But they sold me an expensive pair of pants that immediately ripped after the first fall, which in my opinion, doesn't look good if you're selling faulty gear for a high price like that, so I was hoping to return them. Ideally I was looking to just exchange them for a new pair, because it was an accident and it's not like I purposely ripped them, so it shouldn't have been an issue, right? Nope. I show up at the store, looking to make the return and I'm told that there is absolutely nothing that they can do because they don't accept "damaged goods" for returns, but that I could try getting in touch with manufacturer or bringing the pants to a tailor. Are you kidding me? First of all, nowhere is this explicitly stated in the return policy at the end of the receipt. I have never been made aware of this "policy" when purchasing anything from them before, which would have been nice to know ahead of time because maybe I wouldn't have bought anything if I knew that I couldn't return my purchases if I "damaged" them. Second of all, while it may be the manufacturer's fault, like I said, the store is okay with charging premium prices for faulty items?? The store doesn't check the quality of their merchandise?? No store credit, nothing??? I got a pair of ski pants from Dicks Sporting Goods years ago for under $100 and they have never ripped on me once, and I've fallen in them a handful of times. And I bet I would've been able to return them if I ripped them on the first try. If the store is selling cheap and defective items at high prices, but won't stand by the product that they sell when it does in fact turn out to be defective, then thanks but no thanks. I can take my business to Dicks, or maybe Zimmerman's. They've lost a loyal customer and any potential recommendations that we could have made to friends and family.

    Correct model number - box matches boots

    Customer service was very nice while purchasing boots. However, I realized they are selling 2021/ 2022 Salomon boots as 2023 boots. Daughter bought same 2021/2022 boots online for $329 and I wanted 2023 so I bought in person at Proctor in Nashua for $499. Realized we got exact same boots, with same box and same model number. Proctor had their own sticker on the box with a 2023 number. I gave the general manager tons of evidence and the opportunity to charge me the right price as I loved the boots. They were not willing to lower the price, and so I had to choose to buy them elsewhere as last years model for the much lower price. Buyer beware - check that you're getting the boot you paid for.
