Great spot with a big menu Loved their naming of their menu items Unfortunate they ran out of the corn beef. Forget what my order was called I think it was their huevos rancheros Would definitely come again to try their other menu items

Totally forgot to nab some photos of our masterpieces! This place looks unassuming from the outside but they blew us out of the water. Large portions and friendly staff what more could you need! Did see a large room for big parties.

We stoped here on our road trip for breakfast. The food was ok. The service was great and the food ok.

We were passing through on a road trip and decided to stop here for breakfast.  We ordered the Trucker's Special, which included two eggs, our choice of meat (link sausage, patty sausage, bacon, ham, or hamburger patty, country potatoes, hash browns, or fresh seasonal fruit along with toast or buttermilk pancakes.  We ordered two over easy eggs, four link sausages, and hash browns.  The hash browns were cooked to perfection.  It was a great breakfast!

When I visit Auburn, CA, Sweetpea's is a must stop for breakfast or lunch. I have never had bad service here. The Family feel makes for a very relaxed eating experience. The food here is delicious and hearty. If you are hungry, you are going to get big portions here. I love looking at the menu and seeing items named after long time customers that they created. This restaurant is a must when you are in Auburn, CA

Another great experience today. Great service and the food was SO good. The fruit was really fresh

I didn't finish cause it was just that bad

Serve was fine, too warm in restaurants on a nice cool day. Had the chicken fried steak and eggs. eggs were too runny and the chicken fried steak taste like frozen food heated up. The toast was the best part of my meal. Go to Denny's before this place. $18 for my plate. Taco Tree is better

Mini breakfast #4: 1 egg with country potatoes and sourdough toast

This is our new favorite breakfast place!! Great service! Food is down-home cooking!! Atmosphere can be a little loud only because everyone is enjoying the experience--not a negative. Great place!!

Their country/sausage gravy that comes with their chicken fried steak and eggs was extremely greasy. Otherwise I thought they were ok.

Come for the food. Period. The homeade meals (and breakfast…read moredishes in particular) are amazing, they make every single egg dish in individual pans making sure they give you a quality meal. I ordered a vegetarian omlette with fruit, and received a huge plateful of food. Everything was fresh, especially the fruit which had a variety and not the usual sad melon. The omelet was stuffed with nicely cooked veggies and covered with more. My SO and brother also ordered omelets stuffed with various meats and crisp potatoes, also delicious. Coffee was average but plentiful. Alright why is this not a 5 star given the food is amazing? The service is terrible. I believe it "might" be the owner, but it is run by an angry, scowling rude woman who shouts orders to her staff. Ownership entitlement does not suit her well. I could not believe this person was even working, they were so disgruntled and gave the small restaurant a dark vibe. I truly felt bad for the young staff bustling around. I would eat here again because everything we ordered was delicious and the kitchen is clearly talented, but expect zero niceties or friendly banter. It definitely ruins the overall ambiance and I am not the first person to note this. Tip, order the potatoes they are season perfectly.

I saw some pancakes go by and the name "Awful Waffles" makes my VEGAN self a little envious. Happily, I had enough to choose from that gave me some VEGAN friendly option! I celebrated my clients birthday yesterday!!…read more Happy Birthday, Dianne!!!! She picked Awful Annie's so she could enjoy an Awful Annie's Famous Body Mary! It had a touch of spice and was garnished with celery, a green olive, a spicy green bean, pepperchini, a lime, and a pearl onion. For lunch, we decided to order of the weekend specials menu! I ordered the Carnitas & chorizo Huevos Stack and she ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Dip... service was good. While we waited for our food, my client had to use the restroom twice. From where we were sat, it was quite a long walk, but it was an accessible ramp she was able to use since she has a cane. The steps would've been too much for her. When our meals arrived... both were stunning. My huevos Stack was not all it was cracked up to be. Although they had great crispy tortillas underneath, it had a lot of other soft foods on it that didn't give it much texture. Refried beans, over medium eggs, pico de gallo, red enchilada sauce, and not much meat on it to go around the plate to even it out. Dianne's Country Fried Steak Dip looked and tasted like it was created by someone that knows their breakfasts! Between 2 slices of parmesan toasted bread, there was a thin country fried steak, with over medium eggs, cheese, and BACON!!! And a side of gravy to dip into. That was a million times better than the huevos Stack! So I politely asked our server if I could switch to that special. She got the order in right away and it was out fast. Every bite had the perfect amount of flavor and their sausage gravy tasted insanely good! Both my client and I went home worth half of our meal. She was so happy and it melted my heart that I helped her have an amazing birthday. With the help of Awful Annie's, they helped her birthday become a home run!!! Delicious bloody Mary's, double delicious on our Country Fried Steak Dips, and fine service from the best in town! Thank you Awful Annie's!!

They are famous due to its iconic appearances in pop culture, primarily the classic movie American Graffiti (immortalizing its 1950s drive-in vibe) and the 1970s TV show Alice (creating the "Kiss my grits" catchphrase), cementing its status as a nostalgic American landmark with multiple locations and theme park presence. Lots of memorabilia and they even have small jukeboxes on each table. Stepping into the Original Mel's was like stepping back in time. The menu has lots of choices, from full breakfast items to complete dinners. I opted for breakfast. I order the Wolfman (shoutout to Wolfman Jack, American disc jockey). My breakfast consisted of two eggs (cooked to order), hash browns, two pancakes, warm syrup, two strips of bacon, slice of breakfast ham and one sausage patty. Breakfast was good but my only complaint would be that my pancakes were rubbery (basically I needed a knife to cut it). I would eat here again. Our service was on point and efficient. Restaurant was clean as were the restrooms. Plenty of parking. The ambiance was casual and it was a bit loud.
