I've been here twice now, and will definitely be back. The drinks are strong, the fries are great, and the wait is long. Not gonna lie, I don't looooove that the indoor dining servers don't seem to have a system to seat people, get them menus, and take an order but eventually we got service. The food is solid; nothing to write home about but overall you'll leave satisfied. I don't know what's in the fries they make but they're SO good. We were a group of 12, with reservations. The waitress seemed agitated and flustered to be waiting on such a large group. The restaurant was largely empty except for a few sitting at the bar. A few members of our group ordered appetizers as their meal, those came out well before the rest of the meals. Some food, that should have been hot, was ice cold, as if it had come straight out of a refrigerator and slapped on a plate. Meat juices saturated the French fries. Salads were served on the same plate as the main courses, again allowing meat juices to flood the lettuce. Orders were mixed up, side items were wrong. The last meal (ice cold pulled pork) came out 5 minutes after the other main courses. No drinks were refilled, no plates cleared, no dessert offered. What was suppose to be a celebratory affair turned into a huge disappointment. The icing on the cake occurred as we were leaving, when a heavily intoxicated individual, who indicated he was the owner, approached us to ask about our experience. He was so far gone it wasn't even worth engaging with him. We simply left. We will not be back. read more

Went to dinner here Friday night. We're glad to have it opened. The village needed another restaurant. Food was good but limited. Hope they're going to expand the menu soon. Huge variety of drinks. So I haven't had any food here, but I have had a few beers here. And I don't recommend ordering a draft here. There is a server who grips the top of you glass then use her index finger to pull the handle. So if you like the taste of her fingers and of course all the germs from her handling money and anything else your a braver man than me! She even held the top rim of my beer with her dirty five fingers, when she place it down. In order to avoid confrontation I alerted another server, and asked for another glass. This place does not have their act together. Was excited to see something new going in at this prime spot, historic location. But there doesn't seem to be any organization, seems to be barely keeping it together. Under staffed. Long wait for any service. I can not figure out what the deal is with the kitchen...partial kitchen maybe, and often closed? Went for brunch and food was def brought in by catering trucks. After three bad experiences last year I swore it off but for the heck of it tried one more time about two weeks ago. Came in during dinner time looking for a quick bite and was told it's drinks only that night. So, it seems to only be winning at being a roadside bar. For one I had to wait for like 45 mins-hour for my food and my food wasn't even cooked my burger and my family/friends burgers were all pink on the inside I'm lucky the fries were even cooked right. Y'all needs step your game up fr I was not happy whatsoever neither was anyone else so thank you for that terrible meal. And that's why my dad left no money. I stopped by here with my fiancé. We've been watching the renovation for years since the new owner bought it They've done a beautiful job with it! Gorgeous natural stone walls, lots of outdoor space with gas fireplaces and the food was really quite good! I had the eggplant Parmesan and my fiancé had a turkey platter and both were excellent. We both had a glass of wine and enjoyed the sunset. I'm really glad this place is open. Looks like a great place to have a party or wedding. Will definitely come back. read more

We locals have been waiting for this place to open after a very long period of construction, but sadly it wasn't worth the wait. As I wrote in my Google review, it's basically Friendly's or Howard Johnsons with a smaller menu and higher prices. Clearly designed by and for people who have no clue about food. Went to this place last evening, great calamari. As we chatted with our server, we inquired where we could rent a room and she informed us that they have a couple of rooms upstairs, so we booked it. The owners, Joe and Laura were fabulous. We had such a wonderful time and also had dinner later. I had an awesome fresh salad and my friend, the beef stew, loved it. The newly restored Sweetheart Restaurant got off to a slow start for a positive dining experience however they have more than redeemed themselves since their indoor kitchen is up & running. I've eaten there with friends 4 times in the past two months and in all respects it exceeded our expectations. Before cold weather set in they offered a lobster & prime beef special. The wait was a little long as response was overwhelming but our dinners arrived with unexpected extras (ie lobster with a side of steamed clams). Subsequent dinners offered choices such as baked stuffed sole that was wonderful as was their baked lobster, scallops casserole. Friends ordered meat offerings & were never disappointed. A small suggestion would be to dim the dining room lighting for a cozier feel. We'll be regulars for sure. read more

We're in the pub now after one beer each and a couple sips into second we find out that there are no more chips for the nachos we ordered. Twenty minutes waiting and then they come out and apologize that they don't have enough to make them. You walk in and no one greets you. I see multiple people sitting outside coming into the bar to get their own orders. This was a favorite stop on our annual Fall foliage excursions. So many memories, so many great meals- the Pork Chops were always gigantic -so juicy and flavorful- never dry and the chicken and waffles was my favorite. At least I have wonderful memories of 36 years of great meals shared with family. Sweetheart you are missed. read more
