The miss for us was the roasted mushrooms which were overcooked and weirdly too sweet. Maybe better paired with a more neutral dish. Our server was attentive and the ambiance was lovely, as we were able to sit outside on a nice day - the patio is sort of tucked away so it's pretty quiet. Would return to try the other chicken dishes.

Not somewhere I would necessarily go for "vibes" but that just shows that the food speaks for itself Food: if I had to describe cafe weekend in a sentence, it's basically "a Korean's take on an American cafe". There's a subtle touch of Korean flavor and aesthetic in each item, like how the desserts aren't too overpoweringly saccharine and the Drop the Egg brioche sandwich has that mix savory/sweet that Koreans love. I personally loooved the very berry mascarpone French toast, and I'm not even a dessert person! Nothing was too oily or under seasoned. The food is definitely the highlight of this place! A bit more on the watery end, but I still enjoyed it (this might be more of a preference thing). Good portions (I was definitely full, and my friend couldn't even finish her omelette lol). Also ordered the weekend latte -- it felt too creamy, milky, and "specialty" to be a proper coffee drink (ended up needing to buy Starbucks later on in the day), but still very yummy (so it's more of a fun drink). Heard the matcha was too sweet btw. ~$30pp, so it's a bit steeper for a brunch place, but def worth it.

(but I'm sure the record shops were closed, if there are even any still open these days) however that may be why the food was terrible so YMMV. I should have known better seeing that they did not sell shawarma that it was going to be a disappointing experience. I ordered the mix plate - around $22 total. The gyro meat was so dry that when reheated, took on a crunchy texture. The chicken did not please. it was lacking in flavor. The rice seemed to be basic white rice, which surprised me because most mediterranean/arabic restaurants have really great tasty rice. the bread that came with the meal was pretty good, but with the other elements of the meal being subpar, it was not enjoyable at all. The selection of drinks there is basic soda that's either high in sugar or high in caffeine, I suppose thats typical since many college students live in this area. I don't think I'll return. Ordered: Zaatar & Cheese Flatbread (~$8)…read more Aya's take: Being Lebanese myself, I love a good manousheh (aka flatbread) and didn't expect to see a place making them here in Boston. The Zaatar & Cheese Flatbread was made fresh. The zaatar was nicely spiced and slightly sweet which I'm not used to, the cheese they use is mozzarella which isn't traditional, and the dough is super thin crust which is also not traditional. Zaatar is typically earthy, nutty, and lemony from the oregano and sumac and the cheese should've been Akawi cheese. The dough should also be slightly thicker and fluffier. It would've been nice if they did the Zaatar on one side and the Cheese on the other side. We saw the table next to us get their's that way and I wish it was offered to us like that as that's my preferred option. Nonetheless, decent try and always happy to support an Arab business!
