When you add timely preparation and genuinely kind service from the staff, all that remains is deep gratitude for having experienced one of Sweetgreen's most highly acclaimed locations. Good salad for quick and on the go but unfortunately terrible customer service and will take my business elsewhere. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PLACING AN ONLINE ORDER- ordered to the wrong location despite putting in my cup code twice while ordering. There is no phone number to get In Touch with a real person. If you do call the number on their website it sends you a txt of another number that is a robot not a real person . Then guides you to "email" them. Via email I am informed it's too late to help you with your request. Well of course it is. I went into the physical store to speak with someone who got the manager and they also told me to "email them" This is them not taking any accountability. Terrible customer service and not a way to handle a problem. I did in fact email the company explaining my situation and they said it's too late to help. Just sad. read more

While vacationing in Manhattan Beach recently, we ate at Sweetgreen twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner and both experiences were wonderful. For lunch, I had the Miso Glazed Salmon protein plate, which was flavorful and fresh. The glazed salmon was just the right size and paired with creamy avocado, crunchy cucumbers, tangy pickled onions, and crispy onions over a bed of white rice. The nori sesame seasoning and spicy cashew sauce tied everything together. I ordered the roasted sweet potatoes on the side and they were warm, caramelized, and delicious. We dined in and found plenty of clean tables both inside and out. For dinner, we were wiped out from a full day of exploring and decided to grab takeout to enjoy back at our hotel. I went with the Caramelized Garlic Steak protein plate. The steak was tender and garlicky and the combination of spicy broccoli, juicy tomatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, and double wild rice made it a filling meal. Both times, the service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant was spotless, and the quality of the food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh, was well prepared, and generously portioned. The salads are so amazing and filling without being overly heavy. Portions are okay and the teas are TO DIE FOR. Definitely going back again and again. I was a regular here. Today my mobile order took almost an hour! Staff was new and scattered brained. Guy that was making my wrap took his sweet time. Almost looked like it was on purpose. Everyone with a mobile order waited an additional 20-45 min to receive their order. Wrap was loose and it looks like it wasn't cut with the correct knife. read more

Super delicious, fresh, and filling meal here! I got the harvest bowl but had hot honey mustard as my dressing and I was really happy with that change. The dressing wasn't hot at all but it added just a little extra flavor to everything. Loved the fresh apples and chicken and sweet potatoes as well. My brother in law was very adamant about making sure the ripple fries were fresh because anything less would taste gross. They still had some in the container and I asked if they were fresh and the woman said yes. So I ordered a side. We get them and they were cold and and had no taste whatsoever. I was so disappointed. I told my brother in law and he said he would fix it. He went up and asked WHEN did they make that batch and she said a half hour ago and he basically demanded they make a fresh batch and that they change out my side for a fresh one. And to their credit they did. And what a huge difference that made. When they are actually fresh they are soooo freaking good, and that pickled ketchup sauce is just insane! Highly highly recommend getting those but I cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure you get a freshly cooked batch and not ones that have been out, because a half hour may not seem like a long time but trust me, they were already tough and lost their flavor and were cold. So if you're planning on coming here, also plan on just telling them to make a fresh batch of ripple fries so you can experience them how they should be experienced. read more

Garbage. I won't be coming back. Not sure what happened to them but their food has been dramatically replaced with prepackaged reheated ingredients. Please refer to the photo I posted. Their sweet potatoes aren't roasted - they're soggy sweet potato CHIPS. What a joke. Most of my bowl was cheap dry kale. A tiny scoop of wild rice. Maybe 5 pieces of roasted almonds??? But the "blackened chicken" wow absolutely inedible. So spicy and over sauced. It was just chucks of fatty chicken so disgusting. Street cats won't even eat that crap. The apples still has the skins on them. They use to peel them properly. Cheap prepackaged ingredients from the worst vendors they could possibly find. The serving spoons in their assembly line have drastically been reduced to tiny serving spoons which is a tactic used to ensure they don't give you too much. It saves the company money. Making it almost impossible to pick up more ingredients should someone ask for more. This company has become so greedy. On top of that their menus screens weren't working so they were just black. No menus to look at not even offered the paper menus. I was generous with two stars only because the employees are really polite and are trying their best under those terrible work conditions. Weird experience at this location. I was ordering a make-your-own salad and asked for warm quinoa. I could literally see the quinoa sitting right behind the counter, but the employee told me they didn't have any and even covered it up like it was part of some top-secret government project. When I said I could see it, they explained it was being "saved for online orders." I asked to speak with a manager--only to be informed that they were the manager. So I said fine, I'll just order online! When I asked where to order (website? app?), they just ignored me as if I had suddenly become invisible. Eventually I did order online and--surprise--I got my quinoa. Overall, not great customer service, and a very strange policy if true. Feels odd to deny an in-store customer something that's clearly right there in order to save it for hypothetical future online orders..all at the expense of customer service. Me and the boys just finished lacrosse practice, as always, us big boys wanted some grub. We decided to go healthy this time, unlike crumbl last time, haha! Everything was pretty good, my rice was a little hard and dry. The salmon was good. My friend isaac said it was delicious and would get again! We love the shroomami bowl! The marinated mushrooms are so good. We like to add pickled onions. The firm tofu cubes are good. I recommend to the restaurant that they soak them perhaps in miso soup to hydrate them as they can be a bit dry We love the salad that comes with it and miso sesame dressing. Its legs were still twitching when I found it on my FORK as I was eating. shoutout google image search for telling me what kind of insect was in my food. I wish I could insert the images here. Sweetgreen: when you want to pay a LOT for mediocre food and indifferent service. I ordered the caramelized steak bowl. The worker decided she wanted to do the 2 people behind me at the same time. Fine, except mine was a bowl and theirs were salads, which meant that my food got cold while she was serving up salads that don't need to be served warm. I thought I could choose some of the ingredients but I was never asked. That bowl comes with sweet potato chunks that are supposedly served warm, but you could tell that they were at the end of their lifespan, as they were at the bottom of the metal bin and looked old & cold. So I asked if I could get the crinkle cut "ripple" fries instead, and I was told that it would cost me extra in order to do that. Seriously? A potato for potato swap? When their own sweet potatoes are dried up and tired? Wow. And instead of a "sorry, they don't allow me to make substitutions" or similar, the worker instead just said, "Extra charge for ripple fries." In retrospect maybe I should have paid it because the sweet potatoes were indeed dry, overcooked and awful. The caramelized steak didn't taste caramelized, and overall everything was room temperature and bland, even after dumping lots of pesto dressing and salt & pepper on top. With a Sweetgreen iced tea (meh) the total without tip was $23.50! For cold food you could find in a Denny's (even Denny's has healthy choices these days) and indifferent counter service. They would have to pay me to eat here again. PS.... What ambiance? It's industrial modern decor. Meh. Also, I wasn't offered a receipt nor was one put in my bag. Another fail. read more

I generally like Sweetgreen, but this location was one of the worst experiences I've had. The main issue was the manager, Andrew Kim. He was dismissive and rushed while taking my order, and I ended up waiting several minutes just to be helped because he was loudly berating an employee in full view of customers while the line kept growing. The situation was uncomfortable for everyone in the store. I later learned his name from another employee on a different visit, who also described his behavior as hostile and verbally abusive toward staff. This kind of conduct is unacceptable in a customer-facing role and reflects poorly on the brand. I hope management takes this seriously. read more

I usually love Sweetgreen, but this location totally missed the mark -- all because of the service. The woman who helped us clearly didn't listen to a single thing we said. We asked for half arugula, half romaine, and she dumped in an overwhelming pile of arugula with zero romaine. Not a great start. We then watched her completely mishandle the order of the people behind us. They asked for white rice, which was out -- understandable -- but instead of offering them the option to wait for more, she just gave them two random alternatives and moved on. Super dismissive. On top of that, she was way too heavy-handed with every topping we asked for. It wasn't thoughtful -- it felt rushed and careless, like she couldn't be bothered to make the bowl properly. I order from Sweetgreen a lot and today I decided to DoorDash and was disappointed with my order. My salad came absolutely dry with no dressing, that I fully paid for! And did not come with rice either like I had asked. I ordered an hour before closing so if you ran out of rice that's fine, but let me know! Just super lazy I think on the employee end. Just because it's the end of the night doesn't mean you should treat the orders any differently or put in less effort/attention. I'm still a paying customer and since the order is perfectly written out and you have to go down the line in order of base to toppings, this is employee error. I don't usually leave reviews, but I had such a great experience the other day at the Sweetgreen in Manhattan Beach that I had to say something. One of the employees, I think her name started with an "S" was amazing. She was on the shorter side, pretty, and had this British-sounding accent. She was super friendly, gave me thoughtful suggestions, and patiently walked me through the menu. You could tell she genuinely cared and wanted me to enjoy my food. And I did--everything was fresh and seriously delicious. It's rare to come across that level of customer service. She honestly made my day. Sweetgreen, please give her a raise or at least a shoutout! I want to do a special thanks to their Ariel leader - Jacob. He is very knowledgeable about people with dietary restrictions, If you have gluten and dairy intolerant /allergies, come here. So hard for me to eat out at times or sometimes you will have waiters give you a funny look.... Thank you Jacob for taking extra special care, great customer service! The food is really good too. We had a good experience here. The food was tasty and the staff was helpful, though admittedly the great majority of the staff is focused on preparing to-go orders, so when it is busy in-store it can feel like there aren't enough people because most employees aren't there to help the in-restaurant guests. The ingredients were fresh and good, and I was surprised at how flavorful the Hot Honey Chicken Plate was. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. I do think it is probably a good idea to order in advance if you're going to be arriving at a busy time, such as around lunch.
