Upon entering I was impressed! The cleanliness of the establishment, and the professionalism of the Staff. I was greeted, by a young man, and the manager Lina! Lina was superb, attentive, very professional, and answered my questions about salads, wraps and all the essential goodies that go along with the amazing Simply Salad experience! I chose the EL JEFE, and it checked every box! Service was fast, and preparation was even faster! Food: I ordered a seared showgun with chopped Ahi Tuna with Far East marinade. Hands down this One of the best salads I've ever had! My salad was complete in 3mins. I love how deep the salad bowl is bc it's very filling -- it can easily be shared with someone else and both people can be satisfied. By keeping it simple and adding my own protein later, my total came out to about $9.50, which I thought was fair. One thing that stood out was the restaurant itself. The space was clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious. I also liked the self-order kiosks because they made it easy to see all the available options and customize exactly what I wanted. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful, and even offered samples so I could try things before deciding. That made a great first impression. My biggest complaint was that the menu felt a little overwhelming. Since it was my first visit and I'm pretty picky, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted. The large number of options and add-ons can be confusing at first. As for value, I think the pricing is decent, especially if you keep your order simple. However, once you start adding toppings, sauces, and proteins, the cost can climb pretty quickly. A more fully loaded salad would have been closer to $13.50. Came in for lunch today since this has become a favorite amongst my office crew. Cute little place in the strip mall next to Sports Basement - there is tons of parking. Staff was very vice and helpful with the menu, especially since we were first timers. I went with one of their pre-planned wraps: the El Jefe with arugula, salmon, red cabbage, corn and avocado with the cilantro lime dressing. Hubs went with a build-your-own. I love that they chop the salad to smaller pieces so there is no need for a knife. The salad stayed nicely in its wrap - perfectly dressed (not dripping out of the wrapper). The Baseline: For a salad place, the salads must have fresh, quality ingredients, it must efficiently make my salad, additional offerings must be available, and there should be something that makes me want to eat salad over other options. Food: The salad ingredients were fresh and varied. I went with the Chinatown salad which was pretty good and tasty. The portion size for the salad was very substantial and worth the price. I also got the Mexican Meatball soup which felt better on the rainy day I was eating it. The soup was very flavorful with enough spice. I also tried the humus and pita chips which was a fairly good humus. Overall the items were above baseline for quality and quantity, but I have had tastier salads. Visited another location months ago and fell in love with Simply Salad. This trip we were in about part of town and visited the Hawthorne location. This time I tried the Thai salad and the poblano soup. The salad was fresh, crunchy, multi layered with flavors and textures...perfection. The dark cloud was the Thai Peanut dressing. 100% void of flavor. My heart sank as we were back at our hotel preparing to attend an event so there was no way for me to salvage the salad. The poblano soup was also bland. My husband makes the soup at home so admittedly it's not robust with flavor so I wasn't expecting a flavor bomb. That said, the soup was watery and thin (texture should be between a soup and a chowder), and bland. I did meet Gabby and Elena. Definitely give them a visit, the salads themselves are incredible. read more

I have been to the other one in Inglewood however this location is so bomb. When we walked in around 9:00 PM, neither employee acknowledged or greeted us. I completely understand that employees may be tired later in the evening, especially nearing closing time, but even a simple "hello" goes a long way in making customers feel welcome. I also asked for the restroom code so I could wash my hands before eating and was told the restroom was closed, despite the store not closing until 10:00 PM, which felt a bit unusual. As a business owner myself, I understand how difficult it can be to maintain consistency and keep staff motivated throughout long shifts. That said, it's often the small interactions that shape the customer experience and leave a lasting impression. I'm sharing this feedback because we genuinely enjoy Simply Salads and would love to see the Hawthorne location return to the level of customer service and enthusiasm it had when it first opened. read more
