First off, working with her was a dream. She was always extremely attentive when it came to communication, both via text and email. I don't think I'd go more than 24 hours without hearing from her, which is something rare now a days for some reason. Also, she breaks down prices concisely, which I really appreciated because there were no hidden fees or surprises when it came to the grand total. She also works with you from start to finish, scheduling an initial planning meeting (this took place at our venue) where she listens and jots down what you expect as well as adding her own artistic design/thought. She even took charge and kept in constant communication with my venue manager, which took a lot of stress of my shoulders. The day of the shower, the dessert table was absolutely beautiful! The desserts were intricate, unique, DELICIOUS, and you can just tell she put in so much effort when it came to every aspect. I got so many compliments on this. The indoor space was perfect for our event, and the kitchen easily accommodated our professional catering team. Everything was clean, organized, and ready for us when we arrived. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 has nothing to do with Teena or the venue itself. My only concern was the surrounding area. While unloading decorations, we were approached by a homeless individual who was shouting nearby, which was a little unsettling. Parking was also somewhat limited, and I found myself worrying about our guests. Having worked in Northridge about 10 years ago, I remember it feeling much different than it does today. That said, this isn't a reflection on Teena or Athena Event Studio. She was an outstanding host, and the venue exceeded my expectations. When I called to ask if they could assist us, Carolina was so warm and friendly over the phone--she just told me to come by anytime. The moment I walked into the store, I was immediately impressed with all the beautiful gowns and accessories on display. Even though Carolina was still helping another customer, she acknowledged me right away and kindly asked me to take a seat for a moment. I could see how happy her customer was with the service she gave them. After she finished, Carolina greeted me again with a big smile and even gave me a friendly beso. She took my measurements and my son's with so much care, and when I asked her how much I owed.. she said no charge at all! Such a kind and wonderful lady. He is extremely professional and exudes good vibes all around! My mom, my now husband, and I KNEW we wanted him to DJ our wedding immediately after our first meeting. To begin, he came to the venue (backyard reception at my mom's home) months prior to the event and helped my mom figure out details like where the bar & bartender would be, where our grand entrance would be, whether she should get square or rectangle tables, where the food (buffet) was going to be served, where the dance floor was, etc. He essentially acted as a wedding coordinator as well as a DJ. Before the event we had a few conference calls with Mike to ensure we were all on the same page. I really really appreciated this because I'm a huge planner and I like to know exactly what's going on at all times. I didn't really have any worries at any point during the planning process because I just knew Mike would come through. He is truly amazing at what he does. The day of our reception, Michael kept the party going and just as I expected, everything went exactly as planned. The music, the lighting (he had some beautiful color changing lights that he scattered throughout the venue which came on at night, truly gorgeous), the energy, it was all just perfect. Shortly after, Michael called me and we talked about my party and what I was looking for. I saw on the site, they also offer Photobooths so I asked if it was possible to make a slight change to the photobooth and personalize it a bit for my party and sure enough, they were able to accommodate! I booked a DeeJay and Photobooth package. I got directed to their client login site (awesome) and I was able to include music, change and edit the timeline and add special requests of music. That client site made it so easy to plan my party the way I wanted it to be. DJ Cali was my DJ, she showed up looking gorgeous for my fancy birthday and she was ready to hype up the party as needed. All the music I had asked for were played and during our special dance...the Dancing on Clouds added such an emotional touch to our heartfelt song. It was BEYOND BEAUTIFUL! Professional, Communicative, Efficient and Wonderful would be the best words to describe what you are paying for when You decide to book them for an event.
