Chirashi Bowl
Stefanie C.

How exciting to have come here for my birthday! My friends made a reservation for 15-20 people, which they could easily accommodate by putting a bunch of tables together. Cherry Creek parking in the evening isn't too bad, since many of the meters no longer run. Service is a little slow but very professional. They even asked me in advance if I wanted them to sing for my birthday. I said no. I enjoyed the most interesting-looking "Chirashi Bowl" with pieces of fish laid atop a flattened scoop of rice. This paired well with hot sake, as well as the chocolate cake they sent over for the occasion. It felt like a neighborhood Japanese spot, which is contrary to many restaurants in Cherry Creek. It's not at the top of my list, but I'd be happy to come here again and try more of their menu.

I had a great experience at Sweet Ginger! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything tasted high quality, and the rolls were made with care. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. I would definitely come back and recommend Sweet Ginger to anyone looking for amazing sushi! Just gorgeous!

3 pieces Shrimp Tempura HH. Nicely battered and fried.

So many restaurants in Cherry Creek North are overpriced and underwhelming. It is really nice to stumble upon ( thank you Yelp) a great restaurant like Sweet Ginger that is the exact opposite. Great HH with a great selection of appetizers, sushi rolls, drinks, and beers. Nice ambiance. Even though it is located downstairs there is plenty of natural light ( don't dig the disco edm version of pop songs....but we cant get it all? right?) Service was warm and friendly. The food was really good. I liked my tempura, wings, rolls....it was all good. It aint Sushi Den ...wow...but than again it is not Sushi Den Wow....how much was the bill (WTF?) Highly recommend and will be coming back over and over. Thanks guys.

I really like this restaurant. The staff here are all very nice. The food is very fresh. After each meal, I always have a drink. Please stay for a while here!

Snow crab, toro, volcano roll

The atmosphere at Sweet Ginger is honestly lovely. I sat on their outdoor patio, and the setting couldn't have been more perfect--beautiful flowers all around and ideal weather. It made for a really relaxing environment. Our waiter (I wish I remembered his name!) was friendly, attentive, and answered all of my questions patiently, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I came in really excited to try their sushi, but the quality of the fish and crab was shockingly low. The fish had a strong, unpleasant smell that hit before it even reached my mouth--not a good sign. The toro (fatty tuna), which is usually my favorite, was especially disappointing. It was the worst I've ever had--mushy, off-smelling, and just hard to eat. The only thing that was somewhat enjoyable was the peach martini, which was light and refreshing. As much as I wanted to like this place, I wouldn't come back. With sushi, freshness is everything--and sadly, that was missing here.

Freaking delish! They have a good assortment of sushi, viet (pad thai), chinese.... all was really good and the Washburn was actually hot yes! Service was awesome and every dish we had got demolished. Also order chicken fried rice togo just to see. Way more reasonably priced compared to near by competition, to us, no competition! No comparison, walk another half block!

This review is based on a takeout order- however I will start with saying that the restaurant itself is very quaint, I'd love to return and experience their wait service. I love the low-lighting atmosphere. Everything is fresh, and I could tell that by the taste. I've had a hard time finding good sushi in Colorado, and this place really hit the mark. The sushi did not taste old or fishy at all- very fresh and delicious. I also tried a side order of fried rice, and it was amazing. It tasted just like hibachi rice, which is a huge plus for me. They were quick and friendly with my order. I'll definitely be back!

I was absolutely in love with this adorable place. The patio is so cute! There were so many options, as well as a decent lunch menu. I was very impressed with my Shashimi!

Used to love this place! However, I ordered sushi to go tonight and got home to an interesting looking sushi roll. When I called them to let them know they told me my food was supposed to look that way. ‍ Anyway it may be safe to eat but it doesn't look good so I ended up throwing everything away. this place used to be top notch in my eyes but has gone downhill. If you do order to go just ensure they properly package your meal and don't put hot items on top of raw food. Hope this helps.

It's a hopping spot, a little loud, but that goes with the ambiance. You also pick up some of the cool staff shirts too. This place is busy so if you can, make a reservation. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday and were able to snag 2 seats at the bar facing the street. It took a bit to get water/menu but some seats opened at the actual bar so we moved there and were tended to quickly. Also Rush Hour on the TV so that was a plus. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. We started with the stir-fried greens, chinatown dumplings, and for the entree, shared the beef stir-fried noodles. The greens were tasty, the dumplings were crispy on the bottom and had juicy meat inside. The noodles are very reminiscent of a Bay Area Chinese stir fried noodle dish with the "wok-hei". The only "miss" I could say is that the Hong Kong milk tea was not as strong as in Hong Kong and it wasn't as creamy like they used condensed milk. Our first experience at MAKfam was great and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

I believe this may have only been our second time here in over 8 years of living in Denver, which makes me wonder why we haven't thought about coming here more often. We sat down and, after a few minutes, our waiter greeted us and took our drink order. We started with three appetizers: the crab Rangoon, spring rolls, and tuna tacos. Everything came out within about 5 minutes, and every single appetizer was SO good. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite because they were all delicious! For dinner, we ordered the spicy dumplings and chicken lo mein. Both came out piping hot and were just as delicious as the appetizers. Once again, we found ourselves asking, "Why have we only eaten here twice?" My husband and I agreed that we definitely aren't waiting another few years to come back. Sometimes a last-minute change of plans turns out to be the best decision! Little Ollie definitely reminded us that we need to put this place back into our rotation

Parking can be annoying (if you come to Cherry Creek you know it sucks) but once you're inside, it's great We got sat at this cute table that was set up, kind of like a cattycorner booth, perfect for two. Our server Marvis was great, he greeted us so quickly and talked through his recommendations for cocktails. I ended up trying the Yuzu margarita, which he said was the best drink on the menu, and I absolutely loved it. My friend had a lemon drop and also thought it was perfect. We started with the magic mushrooms appetizer - I almost looked past this but It wasn't mushrooms at all. (Thank god). It was really unique and yummy. I thought maybe they could elevate it a little more by adding some additional seasoning to the shrimp or even leaving it raw to accentuate the cold avocado in the center., but it was still really good. The nigiris were the standouts of the evening. - we tried the seared Ahi tuna, the grilled scallop, and the Unagi. Words cannot describe. If I could make a meal out of Nigiri alone, I would but with just two pieces per serving. It definitely adds up quick. We also got the big kahuna roll and the Pittsburgh roll. The big kahuna was delicious, with a spicy kick at the end thanks to the jalapeño. had a lot of depth of flavors and good texture. We finished off with the Ube crème brûlée, which was really rich and very Ube forward, definitely a unique and yummy dish. Prices are pretty standard for the area, for all this we each ended up paying about $80. Can't wait to come back and try more, and hopefully sit in Marvis' section again!
