Was having a late night sushi craving and saw the late hours on Broadway. Sat in the lounge and got to take advantage of the late night HH. We ordered the following... 1. Spicy Tuna Wonton: little pouches of fries tuna with avocado and sweet chili, chefs kiss! 2. Yellowtail Serrano: loved the thin cut yellowtail with ponzu! the jalapeño had a nice kick Veggie: 1. Green Machine: loved this roll, could use a bit more sauce- ended up using the sweet chili from above! 2. Peanut Avocado: a very peanut forward flavor, loved the crunch, but deffo needs a sauce 3. Zombie: I love the combo, but not a fan of fried avocado personally. Sushi: 1. Salmon Nigiri: my fav fish, but at 12:30 am...it was a bit too fishy for me 2. King Salmon Nigiri: can tell the difference, much more buttery, and less fishy. 3. Chili Roll: it was delish, but the green chili was a bit overpouring along with the spicy tuna- couldn't really taste the kani or the salmon. Overall late night happy hour and less than an hour turn around time, I will be back. The staff in the lounge- amazing and attentive. The wife and I were visiting CO for a few days while my mother has hip replacement surgery. We flew into Denver and needed a place to have lunch and Sushi is always on the menu. I grew up in California and I've been to Japan so I know good Sushi. Unfortunately this place isn't it. We started off with Gyoza and Croquettes. They were both OK. I had a cocktail with Empress Gin, Creme de Violette, Blue Matcha and Agave. The drink was creative and tasty. After that I had their spicy, crunchy roll with tuna along with a Tempura Bento with Shrimp. The Bento came with soup or salad. I went with the salad which was supposed to have Ginger dressing. However the dressing was a deep orange color and really tasted weird. I had the wife taste it and she also thought it was weird. The Tempura was decent but nothing special. All of the dishes we had were served on modern plates to give the dishes a modern flair. Our server was very friendly and attentive and the food was decent enough. So why the 2 star review? Well a couple of hours later my stomach felt upset and I ended up on the toilet the rest of the night. As this was my only meal of the day since breakfast, I'm pretty sure that Go Fish gave me food poisoning. Had this not happened I would have given this place 3 or maybe even 4 stars. Came here with friends for a birthday dinner, as it was one of the only sushi restaurants with a good amount of vegetarian sushi options (one of the group doesn't do fish, but loves good vegetarian sushi). It was a cool interior, nice sushi bar, and our server was fantastic- she even noticed the birthday when checking IDs and ended up bringing out an unprompted birthday dessert at the end! As far as the sushi, it was solid. Nothing mind-blowing, but everything was tasty. The only real critique I would offer is that nothing was spicy- and everything I ordered mentioned "spicy tuna", "spicy crab", etc. I love a nice kick of heat with my sushi, so that was the only slight disappointment. I ordered takeout for lunch and went with the 3 roll lunch special. I used their online portal which was quick and easy and tells you when your order is ready. You can customize your rolls so I went with the Philadelphia roll, Salmon roll, and Tuna Avocado roll, all which were delicious and had the perfect rice to fish ratio. This lunch special also comes with miso soup making it a great price point for what you get! I also added on a tomago nigiri which I was extremely excited for, however. when I went to eat it, it was ice cold and crunchy from being frozen. Overall my rolls were delicious and I wanted to love this place but the inedible tomago was definitely a let down. I will likely come back to try more items as I hope this was a one time issue! read more

I have to thank Hannah for bringing the old guys to one of her favorite spots in Denver. Go Fish is a great sushi place in Denver with an extensive menu. I was slightly concerned when we arrived as there was no one inside, that quickly changed and as we were leaving, it was packed to the gills. The service was funny, quirky and our server was very patient with all the special orders. Go Fish has a dedicated vegetarian / vegan menu which deserves a star by itself. Thank you Go Fish team! Everyone's order looked and smelled amazing. There's no blandiness here. My eggplant and tofu rolls were good but seriously the stars of the table were everyone else's plates. We had already eaten at one happy hour spot but weren't entirely full yet so we decided to stop by a second happy hour spot prior to going mini golfing. Go Fish was the perfect choice. The happy hour menu had a variety of bites and sips that satisfied. Our server, Trev, was attentive without being intrusive. He had a great energy and was a pleasure to be around. We also met the manager, Kim, who was super knowledgeable and informed us of the fresh fish that had been flown in that morning. We loved joking around with her and her food and drinks were spot on. A few stand outs: Karaage: super light, crisp, and juicy. Really really good! Yellowtail Serrano: thick yellowtail slices with spring mix greens, sliced jalapeños and ponzu. I don't normally order yellowtail but this was highly recommended by Kim, especially since the yellowtail had been flown in that morning. It was fresh, clean, and buttery.. wow. This was so so good. Chutoro: we got some nigiri and some aburi (torched). I'm normally a salmon girl but this Chutoro was fantastic. Fresh, truly melt in your mouth, no aftertaste. King Salmon Nigiri: buttery, soft, great quality salmon. I always get salmon at sushi restaurants so this was a must order for me. Nihonsakari Yuzu Sake: A juicy, delicious yuzu flavored sake to end the meal with or sip on throughout the meal. It would be so good topped with some sparkling water or just sipped on as is. Black Sesame Ice Cream: another ice cream by Sweet Action. This was probably one of the best black sesame ice creams I've had. It tasted really natural, toasted, and nutty. They top it with some toasted marshmallow which gets nice and chewy. Lemon Matcha Ice Cream: made specifically for Go Fish by Sweet Action. The matcha and lemon really balanced each other out. I would consider this a lemon ice cream with accents of matcha to give more interest since the matcha was pretty subtle. This was a really refreshing end to the meal. I finally came for Happy Hour. They offer it weekdays from 2pm-6pm and Fri-Sat 10pm-2am. I sat the Sushi Bar. I noticed several items not available during lunch, otherwise prices were reduced. I got a 12oz draft of Kirin beer for $5, the Ahi Tuna salad ($10) and the Chicken Karaage ($8). The beer was excellent. Plenty of chicken pieces with a spicy dipping sauce. The Ahi Tuna salad was misadvertised. I got 4 pieces of Ahi Tuna over a few leaves of greens. No mixed greens, tomato or cucumber. The tuna was buttery. I was still hungry, so I added the Volcano roll from the regular menu for $16. I was served by Riski P. He was quick. The dining area was clean and well cooled. read more

Go fish has the absolutely hands down best vegan/ vegetarian sushi menu that I have seen at a non vegan restaurant. They have some amazing combinations including a green chili sushi?! That being said, the gluten free options are sparse and they do not have a separate menu so you must ask for any item you are interested in. The staff was not very knowledgeable on this either so if you have celiac I might avoid or be ready to interact with the kitchen. They do only use a shared fryer as well. But they do carry soy paper and tamari! I did really enjoy the few rolls I was able to try, the eggplant roll was a showstopper and I adored the tofu pockets. My spouse loved the spicy edamame and their rolls. This is a great place to bring all types of sushi lovers! The menu items had some unique pairings and names I haven't seen before. The place offered outdoor seating as well as indoor options. Tons of parking was available in the back as well. Stopped in for lunch during a recent trip and it was okay. I asked the server what vegetables were in the vegetable tempura and she didn't know so it was a gamble. Our gyozas were cold but I could tell they would have been good if they were hot. The air vents and the fans were covered in dust and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. We were at a company event for my work and it ended fairly late. We were munchie hungry and saw the flashy lights of Go Fish lit up. They are open super late on weekend and even have a late night happy hour. Perfect! We sat at the bar and enjoyed the vibe. Order some drinks and a couple of rolls and veggie tempura. The first time we went here, we were blown away by the service, the sushi, and the ambience of the lounge. We ordered so much sushi between just the two of us that our bill totaled almost $200 during happy hour. We loved it all!! This place was going to be our new late night sushi obsession. Fast forward to Halloween. We were unaware that they were doing a Halloween party/ club type night, I showed up without my ID (I'm 40, my mistake). They had never asked for it the other two times we had been there. So, we drove all the way back home which was 45 minutes away. On the way to my house, we called to double verify that, though they were doing Halloween event, they were still doing the regular happy hour sushi. They said yes- happy hour sushi from 10pm-12am and that they were serving sushi until 2am. We triple verified. They said yes. Well, we drove 45 minutes all the way back with my ID in hand, got inside only to see that there were no tables, no chairs, just chaotic club music and lighting and trash on the floor and a bunch of people drinking. No sushi. When we asked about ordering sushi, we were dismissed by the bartenders, and given no answers. Finally, one person said we could order, but we would have to stand and eat it-ha. We left immediately. Almost 3 hours of driving for nothing. The next day, I called and spoke with Kim, the manager. She was very pleasant and paraphrased my frustrations and offered for us to return for a complimentary sushi dinner. She said she would send a text confirming our conversation in, "20-30 minutes"- that text never came. That wasn't a big deal. I figured I would follow up with her the following week when we planned to go in. Fast forward to tonight- I called at 7pm and was given the runaround when I asked to speak with Kim to confirm us coming in. The guy said she was in, but busy, but then said she wasn't there, then shifted back to she was, then wasn't, over and over- it was very odd. He took my name and number. 4 hours later- no phone call. So, I called back, I was given such a runaround- told to call back on a Monday. Now, I'm able to sum up that they just give a lot of lip service with no follow through. We spend a lot of money on sushi- a lot- we won't be going back to this place. read more

Our go to for really good sushi in Denver - the lunch menu doesn't work on holidays though. The waiter was great - right on top and couldn't do enough. I wouldn't have known the lobster roll had lobster, except for the fact there was the shell tail tip facing up. The other rolls were good. I came to Go Fish with a group of friends and had been meaning to try their menu after always seeing them listed on DoorDash. I didn't get a chance to sample the hot sake like I usually do at Japanese restaurants, but my boyfriend and I ordered a few sushi rolls. They tasted okay, and some of them didn't look as expected (like the inari nigiri) but I can appreciate the creativity. I could be convinced to visit again and try non-sushi things like the honey glazed shrimp, lamb chops, and mochi ice cream. The sushi just wasn't very aesthetically pleasing and tasted mushy? After seeing Go Fish was participating in Denver's first Asian Food Week AND had A5 Waygu Fried Rice on the menu, I booked us a reservation for date night. It was a fun night out - here's why! STAR #1: Located on the corner of 1st and Broadway, the restaurant is easy to spot and features a parking lot! I didn't realize the latter until we had driven around FOREVER and parked blocks away, but there is parking! Although the main dining area is a bit small, the back room near the bar makes for a great addition to the space, allowing for more seating! With the lights of South Broadway shining through the floor to ceiling windows, creating the perfect date night vibe! STAR #2: Staff was friendly throughout our entire visit! The host and hostess were welcoming upon entry and though they had a hard time verifying my reservation I had made via Opentable, they were able to accommodate us right away, which was nice! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and insisted on a variety of suggestions for us to indulge in! We did just that it made for a pleasant experience! STAR #3: With my check in via Yelp, a free infused saki shot is offered - which I gladly took advantage of! Being that my husband wanted to partake, at the server's recommendation, we opted for a small sake sized portion of it - equivalent to about 3 shots each, for the price of $5! Also offered on the menu, delicious draft and bottled beers, house crafted cocktails and plenty of NA options as well! STAR #4: Food is outstanding! Being a sucker for all things on the menu, I opted for a variety of things to try for both my husband and me. He's not a fish person, so this gave us the perfect opportunity to try some of the vegetarian rolls! We started with miso soup, shishito peppers (seriously so so so good!!), and seaweed salad before diving into our shared entrees. My husband loved the A5 Waygu fried rice, as the meat was insanely tender and delicious! Although the portion appeared small, the beef and rice mixture easily filled him up and we actually left with leftovers! As for rolls - we noshed on the variety below: - Spicy Salmon Crunch - Unagi Maki - Fried Sweet Potato Roll - Tempura Asparagu Roll All of which were large in size (8 pieces each!), beautiful in presentation and tasted so fresh! I was surprised at just how fresh everything tasted and totally hit the spot! My husband also really enjoyed the veggie sushi, which was a surprise to both of us, which we happily enjoyed!
