After walking the South Pearl Street Market, we fell upon this ramen shop just off the path. It opens at 12 pm and we were the first to enter. The place is fairly open and nice vibes. Here is what we got: 1. Pork Bao Buns: funny enough when it first came out it had no pork in it. I actually had to tell the waiter and he ended up coming back with the meat in it this time. This was okay, however a lot of pickled ginger ruined it. 2. Chicken Kaarage: unfortunately this was a complete miss the breathing was 90% and chicken was about 10%. Not worth the money. Entrees: 1. Tonkatsu Ramen: being a Ramen place this broth was delicious. Nothing bad with it. Wish there was more meat. 2. Beef Yakiudon: this was like a stirfry of beef udon noodles. It was okay but a bit lackluster due to all the sauces in it. 3. Poké bowl with salmon: this truly just had a good balance of everything but not enough poke. Overall, this place was OK. I have to say i was pleasantly surprised by this place. I was in the area with a friend and most things on Pearl st were closed so we decided to roll the dice on this spot. I was hesitant at first because the restaurant was empty when we walked in but we were seated promptly and a server came over within minutes of us being sat. I got the spicy pork ramen and she had the katsu. Both of them had excellent broth. You can tell it's fortified and the tares they use are good quality. The noodles and egg were cooked perfectly. However, for being labeled as a "spicy" option it had little to none. I get that the area is full of your stereotypical gringos but gringos like spice too! I ended up adding more heat to it myself and it was delicious. We saw that Sukiya had recently opened and decided to have lunch there. It's a smaller space, but still a sit down atmosphere. I love the decor and display of drinks including sake and non alcoholic beverages they have. We started with the gyoza which is served with an actual sauce, but also a sauce "crisp" on top which adds a nice texture. I ordered Godzilla ramen and my husband had a rice bowl. The service was quick and the portions were massive. They unfortunately were out of green tea when I went but I still really enjoyed the experience. My husband enjoyed his bowl and thought it had a great balance of flavor. The Godzilla Ramen had great flavor and spice to it, however, there was an earthy flavor I couldn't quite put my finger on. We came to try out Sukiya Ramen at this location, but the experience was disappointing. We stood for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us, and when a waitress finally showed up, she just said, "Sit anywhere." There was a group in the corner where the adults were loudly cussing the entire time -- even with a child sitting right next to them. We had two young kids with us, and another family with a child sat nearby. Everyone looked uncomfortable, but unfortunately, the waitress did nothing to address the situation. Service was also very slow. Our ramen came out before any utensils, and we had to wait again just to start eating. The ramen itself was okay, but mine was quite salty. Honestly, if we hadn't already ordered, we probably would have just walked out. I've had much better experiences at their other locations. 4.5 stars for a tasty, new spin on ramen! The menu spans ramen noodles, yakisoba noodles, as well as donburi / rice dishes and even poke bowls. Got the dipping ramen (aka Tsukumen), and I was stoked that it came with a plate of carrot strips, bean sprouts, corn, and shaved green onion! The savory broth was chockfull of shiitake mushrooms and pieces of pork, and it wasn't super salty like most dipping ramen broths so I was able to enjoy much of the broth by itself. The noodles were shy of al dente and chewy, lending themselves as perfect dunking vessels to cling with all the veggie add-ins and broth. The addition of vegetables with the noodles seems to be a Colorado spin on this dish-- as a veggie monster, I loved it! My JAS got the chicken tonkatsu ramen-- tonkatsu broth with a healthy portion of succulent, juicy pieces of chicken. The chicken was delicious, not dry at all, and she enjoyed the balance of salty and savory very much. Is this the most authentic ramen I've had? Definitely not, but it's for sure tasty and fun to eat! The space is simple, clean, and casual. Service was friendly and prompt, checking on us several times throughout the meal and keeping our glasses full. Tucked behind another restaurant is this absolute treasure of a ramen house. Seating is limited, but it wasn't hard on a Tuesday night to get a table. My overall experience was okay. I was expecting a lot more considering the tagline "the best ramen in Denver". My Miso ramen didn't quite impress me. It lacks flavor compared to another place we went to. We also ordered chicken karaage which was crispy and delicious. Service is good. Servers came by to check on us but looked like they hated every second of it. They didn't smile but they were courteous. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the area and our food. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful at night. It is hard to find parking as there's only street parking. Keep in mind that this street is mixed residential and shopping/dining area. I came here out of curiosity and to succumb to my ramen fix as my first time in Denver, Colorado. The neighborhood is pretty quaint, quiet, and clean. The inside of the restaurant was typical of a casual dine-in. The server was pretty nice and attentive. The bowl: I looked at the reviews and saw it had 4.6 stars, so I thought to myself, why not? It should be as good as the Denver folks say. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen bowl because it was pretty cold that day and wanted a little spice in my life to warm up. I must say, I wasn't fully impressed. I think the bowl was fine. BUT. The spice mix or spice bomb they put on the pork shoulder took away the taste of the ramen. It was too loud in spice flavor but not in heat (I am hoping this makes sense). Maybe it comes like that, but it seem like they smothered the "Spicy" specifically on the chashu, instead of in the ramen broth. I wanted to change my order, but I was pressed for time. I am giving it 3.8 stars mainly due to the spice situation. It was reasonably priced so complaints there. Would I go there again? I may if I get a different bowl to order. I loved how the outside and inside of the building looked, especially getting to the side door, the pathway does make one feel in Japan, with aged, washed lanterns hung low. This being the newest location of Sukiya Ramen, it's also the first time I tried this chain. One of my friends was very impressed with his meal. While I could definitely think of a lot worse ramen joints, or places that serve ramen, this was probably not the best I've had. I tried the beef ramen - something I don't normally see on menus. Hubby being the smarter one, went for the traditional Tongkatsu with the creamy soup base. I thought both were pretty standard, and could benefit from a tad of added sweetness. The squid balls (forgot the proper name for this dish!) and the Japanese style fried chicken as appetizers were both satisfying. They came out piping hot! Dessert wise, we were surprised they didn't have the matcha flavored mochi ice cream. But both strawberry and mango were pretty good, not sure if they were made in house though. This location is just across the street from sushi den. It takes a certain amount of guts to open an Asian restaurant across the street from one of the most popular sushi restaurants in Denver. The chicken on my ramen was obviously processed (like spongy vacuum sealed chicken, not freshly grilled). The large volume of scallions as garnish on the ramen and karaage was laughable. Best ramen I've had! I'm more into pho since the ramen I've had in the past has been too salty and rich. The spicy tonkotsu is the way to go. Really flavorful and quality ingredients. The edamame was dry and the spicy version was a joke- just a red powder seemingly for decoration. The gyoza were mushy. Hands down, my favorite bowl of ramen in Denver-- no questions asked (and I've tried several bowls of ramen in Colorado). The spicy tonkotsu broth has such a rich and comforting taste without being too overwhelmingly spicy; I dream about it. The thin straight noodles are always cooked to perfection, I love their marinated eggs and the chasu has a great barbecued flavor. My fiancé's favorite here is the curry tonkotsu, which is admittedly still heavenly. The staff are always friendly and quick despite the fact that the restaurant is ALWAYS busy, the decor is really cute with all of the art and all of the anime figurines. There's 3 or 4 locations, so if you see one in your area give them a shot! You won't regret it. read more

This neighborhood place was a trip! Its ambiance included a combination of contemporary Japanese anime and other distinctly modern Japanese cultural references, leaving me wondering what kind of a Japanese off-campus college eatery I'd stepped into. The bowls had a great balance of tasty meat, multiple veggies, and flavorful spices. I've been to some good Pho places around Denver and this was a cut above those for sure with its higher quality ingredients and uniquely Japanese surroundings and quick service. I heard they are going to add a Boba bistro there soon. I think that will be a really neat addition to the place. I could see going there a lot for boba even by myself and going back to the Ramen restaurant with friends for a fun dinner again. read more
