honestly a cute spot inside! came to try their dim sum bogo for their grand opening, but it'd be better to drive a little more to chinatown. the soup dumplings and the rice crepe roll was broken :( the best one was the sticky rice with chicken and mushroom. the others we tried were just okay it is a order at the counter service rather than a sit down take your order idea, so service was good in regards to that. overall unfortunately don't think we will be coming back for the dim sum

The matcha vanilla swirl on the fish cone

Went in today with the family to try a few things. We got the fish cone ice cream, a mochi donut, some dango, a specialty drink and three savoury items. Things come up randomly, but that is the nature of dim sum so it is to be expected. You can order the ice cream and delay service on it, which is nice if you just want to pay for everything at once. The donuts were a bit odd, different than the mochinut ones we are used to. Tempura came with the wrong sauce (sweet chili is not what it should be served with!) but overall pretty good and certainly a lot of variety for everyone. One thing that could improve is more screens to order as there is only one and when people are in groups and unfamiliar with the menu it could delay things for everyone. Don't forget to bus your table as well at the end!

I want to love this place and I think I will! The flavor of the soup dumplings was so good- especially the traditional pork one. And the wrapper on the dumplings was perfect. But every single one broke in the serving tray, releasing the soup into the dish and defeating the whole point. The spoon offered wasn't big enough for the dumplings and there was no vinegar for dipping! I'm hoping these oversights will be remedied.

Taiyaki cone with matcha and ube swirl

My wife and I stopped by on a walk to split some taiyaki cone ice cream. We got an ube and matcha swirl and it was some of the richest ice cream we've ever had and both the ube and matcha flavors were excellent. Everyone in there was incredibly nice and what I assume to be the owner or manager even stopped to ask how things were on our way out. We will definitely be back for more sweets and dim sum!

Ahh! This used to be Currito. Remember that! I had the Mango Passion Fruit Tea, and it was pretty good. The staff and service are very good.

The shui mai was terrible filling was doughy with bits of bamboo shoots no shrimp. Looks and taste frozen. But I have had better frozen.

Not sure why the reviews on other platforms for this are higher? I would normally return to see if changes but not this time

First time…read morebringing the kids, first time introducing them to dim sum, and we came in hot on a busy day with multiple events happening in the area. MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. A Chinatown institution for good reason. Just know what you are walking into and embrace it fully.

The portions are huge, so I highly recommend sharing dishes, especially if you're dining with a group. If you're not familiar with the menu, it can be a little challenging to know what to order, but the staff is usually helpful with recommendations. Some of my favorites are the dumplings, various rice dishes, chicken, lemongrass dishes, Mongolian beef, and other traditional offerings. This is a fantastic place for larger groups, and they're very accommodating when it comes to splitting checks. The food comes out quickly, the atmosphere is lively, and there's plenty of variety for everyone. If you're in the area near Joy Yee, MingHin is definitely worth a visit!

What I love most is the versatility...you have the traditional sit-down dining area, and then on the other side (toward the back/left), there's the hibachi grill. Whether you're in the mood to relax and be served or want something fresh off the grill, you've got options. Now, I'll be honest, the line can get long, especially on Sundays right when they open at noon. But it's absolutely worth the wait. Everything is fresh and made to order, and I've never had a bad experience here. Some of my go-to favorites include the egg foo young, Mongolian beef, spicy egg rolls, and spicy crab rolls...but honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is always friendly and welcoming, which makes a difference. The atmosphere has a little bit of buzz to it, but it's not overwhelming, you can still enjoy your conversation without feeling like you're shouting over noise. Overall, this is a five-star go-to spot for me. Consistent, flavorful, and reliable every single time. If you're in the Chicagoland area, especially near Elmwood Park, New Star is definitely worth checking out.

First, I was told they were waiting for a table to open up. Then they were waiting on a cook. Finally, a staff member said the people at our reserved table were still eating and they were waiting for them to get up. When I asked when our table would actually be ready, she laughed, threw her hands up, and said she didn't know. What made the situation even worse was watching other customers walk in and be seated while we continued to wait. From what I observed, Black families were waiting extended periods of time, while White and Mexican customers were seated much more quickly. A party of 15 that arrived well after us was even seated before my group. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the treatment my family received on my mother's birthday. This would have been her first hibachi experience, and instead it was ruined by poor customer service and what appeared to be unfair treatment. I will never return and would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
