    Long Island iced tea

We came here for dinner on a Friday night. There were plenty of seats open. Its spacious. We were sat down quickly but had to wait for someone to give us menus. The owners were friendly and checked on us a few times. I ordered a few maki and enjoyed them both. They were fresh. I recommend the before 3 pm special posted as it is 3 rolls with soup for 13.99. I'll definitely come back for that. My husband had the moo shu shrimp and it was very delicious. I highly recommend. We both had cocktails and they were made well.

I moved to Oak Park about 6 months ago and this has been the place I always go back to. I ordered to have it ready at a specific time but was going to be there sooner than I expected. So I called and they were able to have it ready in 10 minutes! They also have dinner specials which I just discovered that come with an egg roll and egg drop soup. This food is seriously so good, coming from an avid Chinese food eater haha

    Chicken Fried Rice

Very good Chicken Fried Rice. The pieces of chicken were very lean and the rice flavor was delicious. Portion size is huge - I will have leftovers for a fews days! The service is quick. I called the order in and it was ready in moments. Next time I will eat in the restaurant because it is a beautiful space. Great amount of tables and the art & decorations are very pretty.

This is the best chinese/ pan asian place we have had in western suburbs so far. We are a household native to east asia, btw. For takeout we tested their versatility: hamachi and spicy tuna sushi rolls, pad see Eiw, pad that, garlic eggplant, string beans w malaysian sauce and a mango smoothie for the kid. The sushi was first rate! We were surprised to think this is a new go to for that! We go to 312 sushi in chinatown for similar value/ quality. The thai noodle dishes were in line with other thai places to american taste, well executed. The eggplant was very fresh perfectly cooked, same for the green beans. This place is new but already one of the area's best.

General Tso comes with egg drop soup. Friendly service with a smile. The restaurant is beautiful, but we were the only people there. Stacks and stacks of take out orders moved through while we were there.

The lunch special is massive! The food is tasty, it's cheap. This isn't Chinatown but is dependable and always fun.

We were there for some Chinese food. They give you complimentary hot tea when you sit down. The service was ok at best. Nice inside not very big but it's clean and has some cozy booth type seats along with open table seating. We ordered some Jumbo shrimp fried rice, Singapore noodles, pad se eew and a sampler appetizer platter. The appetizer platter came with 2 egg rolls, 2 dumplings, 2 bbq ribs, 2 shrimp toast, 2 crab Rangoons & 2 fried shrimp. The egg rolls were fresh and full of meat!! Very crispy and delicious! 7/10 I didn't have the dumplings I don't care for them myself but my wife likes them she gave them a 6.7/0 she said she's had better. The Ribs had a nice bite and flavor to them just a tad tough for me. 6/10 The shrimp toast was my favorite of the appetizers the were crispy not greasy and the shrimp was definitely there. I enjoyed the flavor of them. 8/10 The crab Rangoon however were a disappointment to me. They were definitely missing the green onion and crab! lol. Mostly cream cheese but fried well 4/10. The fried shrimp were ok. Average 5/10 They give you a lot of food for your money! As all the dishes had a great amount of protein in them! They don't skimp on the meat at all. The jumbo shrimp fried rice a great flavor and nice texture. You can taste smokiness in it. 7.5/10 The Singapore Noodles was loaded with shrimp, chicken and bbq pork, egg and veggies. It had a kick to it from the curry very flavorful and the texture of the noodles were spot on! 7.5/10 the pad se eew was also loaded with beef! (You have the option of protein) the beef was very tender, the sauce had a nice spice level and the noodles were perfectly cooked. 8/10 all in all i would definitely recommend checking them out! My bill was a little over $63 and well worth it. I'm definitely returning to them. Remember ALL reviews are SUBJECTIVE

First, I was told they were waiting for a table to open up. Then they were waiting on a cook. Finally, a staff member said the people at our reserved table were still eating and they were waiting for them to get up. When I asked when our table would actually be ready, she laughed, threw her hands up, and said she didn't know. What made the situation even worse was watching other customers walk in and be seated while we continued to wait. From what I observed, Black families were waiting extended periods of time, while White and Mexican customers were seated much more quickly. A party of 15 that arrived well after us was even seated before my group. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the treatment my family received on my mother's birthday. This would have been her first hibachi experience, and instead it was ruined by poor customer service and what appeared to be unfair treatment. I will never return and would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

Her endorsement of it in the form of "Generous portions, friendly service, and delicious. The egg rolls, nice and crispy! Veg." was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience. Looking through the menu, I took interest in items like the vegetable egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, vegetable fried rice, jumbo shrimp fried rice, vegetable egg foo young, jumbo shrimp egg foo young, shrimp with lobster sauce, shrimp with broccoli, shrimp with mixed vegetables, and fish with mixed vegetables. Out of all that caught my eye on the menu, I ended up ordering their shrimp fried rice which was no surprise because it was what initially caught my eye thanks to Elizabeth C. Whether it be Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at Happy Chef my order was ready for pick up behind the counter. Picking up was just confirming my name, and I was well on my way back to my residence. I am grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again is very high. For your information, Happy Chef sits along a busy Harlem Ave near the intersection of Roosevelt Rd, which can get very congested throughout the day. The parking space is shared with several other businesses, which can feel tight knit among the presence of other vehicles moving within the space. Keep in mind that you may be subjected to altering your route if you intend on exiting left going towards Roosevelt Rd while leaving. It can be a pain exiting but consider yourselves warned if you are intending on visiting Happy Chef. Now the drive back to my residence in Chicago felt excruciating while driving along Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. It was only a 6.6-mile drive where each minute, I was tortured by the smell of my food. The one thing you can never be disappointed with is the portions of Chinese food given. This restaurant was no exception because they sure packed every amount of shrimp fried rice they could inside of that tiny white container. As my mouth salivated in anticipation of my first bite, I nearly forgot to snap pictures to share on yelp, which is the least I could have done to capture that greasy piece of goodness in that tiny white container. I really enjoyed their ever-satisfying shrimp fried rice that I will likely order again from Happy Chef! Oh, yes! Here is a poem for your enjoyment to sum up how I felt after eating. One bite of shrimp fried rice, then two, I loved that savory, salty chew. But now my panties scream in pain, A lacy victim of the grain. The elastic's reached its final tether, We're hanging on by just a feather. That crustacean feast was worth the price, But now I'm paying... in spandex and rice. I had a good ordering experience as I have indicated in this review of Happy Chef. And as it was endorsed to me by Elizabeth C, I share my endorsement of it as well with you all on yelp. But I just don't go traversing into Chinese restaurants with no prior vouching or endorsement from someone I know. Or at least I usually don't.... So I headed to NCW one Saturday and had a large shrimp fried rice and two shrimp eggrolls. The rice was just this side of being totally bland. Which is surprising given that they had sprouts, pods, scallions and a few of the other ingredients I find in the rice I like. But it had only the slightest hint of flavor. The shrimp were tiny and pink which suggested they were either boiled beforehand and added in or just weren't cooked long enough. I would guess the latter, especially since I had a few sections of rice that had were still white due to not being mixed with the soy sauce and fried long enough. Adding soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce helps, but good rice should stand on its on. This rice did not. As for the eggrolls? Meh. I don't know this to be the case, but the eggrolls felt like something a restaurant would order from a large supplier, and then fry them to order. I could be wrong, but I said that because in addition to the eggrolls being extremely bland, they had absolutely nothing colorful or distinctly flavorful within. It was fried perfectly, but had absolutely no punch or flavor, save for adding some sweet and sour sauce. All in All the food was underwhelming but passable. It didn't taste bad, the problem is it barely had any taste at all. The question is: would i order it again? Me thinks not. If I were in a remote town and this was like one of the two Chinese options then maybe. Problem is this is Chicago and you can't go more than a few miles or stoplights without passing a Chinese restaurant. A delicious one at that.

The spring rolls were good, but the duck curry was absolutely delicious. I asked for spicy and somehow they made it with the perfect amount of spice. There was a little bit of duck fat, but I guess that's to be expected with any duck entree. They were generous with the meat portion. I definitely plan to order this again. My go-to curry is usually the pnang, but I decided to change it up a little tonight. I also stopped by a few days earlier this week to grab a quick appetizer. That was my very first time visiting this restaurant. I tried their crab Rangoon. It wasn't my favorite filling, but other reviewers seem to love the creaminess. It might just be my person preference to have a different filling. Either way, the flakiness and freshness was spot on. Both of my take out orders were prepared quickly. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. The staff member and owner compensated me for the error made during my first visit. They were both friendly and seemed genuinely happy to make it right. I chose to give a bigger tip by putting the extra cash in their tip jar for their excellent service. Also, as I was walking out with my food order, I noticed a gentleman sitting down and ready to enjoy his meal. I greeted him with a "happy new year". I got the impression that he was a regular so I decided to ask him if he had a favorite meal at this restaurant. He responded by saying the Pnang curry is what he ordered this evening, and is also one of his favorites. I shared with him that I just ordered the duck Curry to go, but I usually order pnang He seemed intrigued with the duck. I have a strong feeling his next order will be duck curry and mine will be the pnang. Lol Starting the new year off right!
