Consistent and tasty. My husband loves the soup dumplings. I enjoyed my noodles but they lacked a little flavor. Lots of menu items. I've had their vegetables dishes and vegetarian dumplings in the past. Good and authentic. Lots of seating and good ambiance. Almost friendly. This time we had take out but normally eat in. read more

Perfect lunch spot! We started with wonton soup, filled with tender dumplings and topped with baby bokchoy. The four of us shared the pork buns, soup dumplings, boiled pork & chive dumplings, and a spicy dumpling option. All heavenly! My teenage son said he could've eaten all himself, that's how much he loved it! Great service- fast and attentive! read more

Braved the freezing temps for this and it was so worth it & actually helped that there was no wait, usually there is one & as far as I can tell there's no reservations. The food was all really great, my favorite bites were the pork w chive dumplings & the crab rangoon. The dumplings flavor was perfect & the rangoon had big chunks of the crab & an interesting twist of flavor that I loved. Everything was a generous portion size & very reasonably priced for everything we got. No alcohol is served here but they do have a drink menu of teas & such. The inside is really cute too & pretty intimate if you're in a booth so it was a good vibe & experience overall! read more

This review is based on delivery only, but overall we had a really good experience. We ordered the chicken potstickers, pork and chive potstickers, crab rangoons, fried rice, and General Tso's chicken. Everything had great flavor and tasted well prepared. The food was not quite as hot as I would have hoped when it arrived, but the quality still came through. Nothing felt greasy or heavy, and the flavors were balanced. Based on this experience, I would absolutely try Katy's Dumplings in person next time, as I think it would really shine fresh from the kitchen. read more

We went to Katy's for a midweek reunion lunch with the family. Ordering was pretty streamlined, and it's helpful to always see the menu in Chinese and English- great time to practice both, particularly with my parents there to correct pronunciation. We usually go with a Sichuan dry stir-friend green bean, eggplant, a noodle dish, and whatever protein suits our fancy that day. I think they were out of an appetizer we wanted that day, but we always over order, so it wasn't a problem. They have booster seats and high chairs, so young families can rejoice. Seating options include cafe-style tables, a few family tables, and a few mid-sized booths. The menu is fairly extensive, and they have several stir-fried noodle dishes, noodle soups, and stir fries. I believe our stir fries automatically came with a side of steamed rice for the table, but you may want to double check with your server. There are also lots of fruit teas, bobas, and shakes if that's what you're craving! Can't speak to that since we primarily get water whenever we eat here: we always leave really full. Parking is in downtown OP which means there are nearby garages, some parking lots near Old Navy, and the Target parking garage. There are also limited street parking lots behind Lake near the train station stops. Be careful during weekends and holidays as it does get quite busy. read more

Depends on the day and is what you will get. The vegetables are usually fresh and crisp. However, it seems Sunday is a miss more often than not. We got tofu so tough it was like eating jerky and egg rolls that were dipped in grease before putting in a bag. This happens more consistently on Sunday, even with some time between the last bad Sunday. The food was ready fast and the people were not rude when we picked it up. We did not eat in, because sometimes it does not feel comfortable sitting there, although it is not something I can explain. The seating area has plenty of options for types of seats and they have some sort of music playing. read more

You are first greeted by a friendly host/server who will either take your order or take you to a table. The staff is happy to make recommendations if you request. We ordered the scallion pancake and veggie noodle soup with added chicken. The staff were fine with the special request and all were smiling and courteous. The food was delicious! The scallion pancake was a little thicker than I have seen elsewhere, but it was crispy and delicious. The noodle soup was very heavy on noodles and light on veggies, and there was a generous helping of chicken. Everything was very comforting. The setting is a friendly and casual vibe, and you can people watch out the storefront window if you are seated in the vicinity. Overall a happy encounter. Shout out to Alexis for excellent service! read more

Nice seating area. Great service with friendly wait staff. Delicious food. Street or lot metered parking. I ordered shrimp.p spring rolls..the peanut sauce was a perfect match.. Juicy dumpling (soup dumplings) very nice. Grandmas eggplant and green beans.... The softness and crisp on the eggplant was perfect. I wanna know how they cooked it. I would have preferred a few more green beans but overall the dish was tasty. I would return to either location guaranteed. read more

Yummy dumplings and noodles. Been a while since I've been here but their food is always top notch. Quick and friendly service and oh so good. Need to hit them up again real soon. Kind of intimate dining area. It's ok though. Sometimes I want a little quiet dining experience. If you haven't already dined with Katy's what are you waiting for. You don't need a special invitation. Just go. Can't go wrong. read more

I'm very happy that we got the chance to try Katy's Dumplings while we were here. The food was really good. I tried some of everybody's food in our party and everything was delicious. We had kids with us and they ate a little bit of everything too, which is always high praise if you have little ones! I have to say the orange chicken was really good. Usually I get kind of bored with orange chicken but this was very tasty, the beef fried noodles was also surprisingly good. I wasn't sure that would be my cuppa tea, but it totally was outstanding but they did get the job done. Just not overly friendly. read more

Grabbed lunch here and I would say it had its pros and cons! For drinks, we got the Thai ice tea boba and strawberry ramune. The Thai ice tea was not very sweet and had a stronger tea flavor which was appreciated and of course the ramune was delicious. For food, we started with the chengdu dumplings and the beef with scallion potstickers. Both were good but the real winner was the beef with scallion potstickers smothered in the chengdu dumplings sauce - so good!! We also got the beef fried rice and chicken rice cake stir fry. The meat was not our favorite in either of the dishes and the fried rice was good, but tasted more like Spanish rice. The rice cakes were delicious when combined with chili oil so would recommend those with veggies (we found the chicken to be too chicken-y, if that makes sense)! read more

We've been craving Katy's taste today since we come here often, but today was a very disappointing experience. This was our spot, but for some reason the food is not the same. Food seems like a fast food chinese place that has been neglected. Texture and taste has been compromised. Scallion pancake seemed like its been reheated 3x over and burnt. Noodles was oily and not fresh as it used to be. The bao seemed like its been left out for an hour and give n to us. Over all negative star!! Close this place pls before some One get sick!! Garbage food read more

Since moving to Oak Park, Katy's has been the go-to Chinese place for us. We usually try to go once every two weeks! We've since tried more items on the menu. The Xinjiang style lamb is a favorite. We like the vegetable chow fun as well. There hasn't been an item on the menu that we dislike. read more

The food was good but my boba I got the mango boba with tapioca balls and the boba wasn't even cooked it was harder than a rock I thought I would chop my tooth on it. And when I went to the bathroom to clean up, there was 3 soap dispensers and NONE WORKED. Also one of the waiters were inappropriately "sagging" with his underwear showing!!! If the manager sees this please tell me what you will fix and how. Thank you. read more

Visited Katy's Christmas Eve because we can. Ordered soup dumplings, crab Rangoon, pot stickers, general tso's chicken, another chicken dish with chicken oh and spring rolls (not saying how many of us were eating). I ordered catering for a work party and they delivered promptly with everything we needed - plenty of dipping sauces and utensils. I got compliments about the food choice from my coworkers and everyone enjoyed the variety of dumplings. It was fun change to the usual catered lunches. Their dumpling dough is on the thicker side and they don't skimp on the fillings. I prefer the pan-fried dumplings over the boiled dumplings. I highly recommend this place, especially for their handmade dumplings. read more

Katy's is one of our favorite go-to restaurants for delivery. We usually order enough for a couple days, since everything is so good - hot and sour soup, soup dumplings, shrimp and chive potstickers, fried rice or noodles, mongolian beef or xinjiang cumin lamb, sauteed green beans. It's all wonderful! read more

Well prepared foods that is quite favorable. Amble portions. Quick service. We are always pleased with the food at Katy's

The food was INCREDIBLE! The location is small and very busy but it's so busy for a good reason. The food is amazing. We had the beef chow mein, pork buns, soup dumplings, and gyoza. The noodles were so good and oh my god the pork buns were like biscuits, they were flaky and delicious. The soup dumplings were light and tasty with the most sumptuous soup inside. I highly recommend this restaurant. Please come willing to wait and not bring a huge party. It's absolutely worth the wait! read more

We ordered a large selection of take out from Katie's Dumplings for dinner. I don't like giving a 1 or 2 star review but the food was just not very good. My son did say his egg drop soup was good. We tossed the scallion pancakes. Although some said the pot stickers were ok, some didn't eat them. There wasn't one item that any of us would say " oh that was so good ". We have ordered Katie's or eaten at the restaurant over the years and honestly the food quality is inconsistent. Tonight it was worse than that and on so much of the food of a large order. I don't think we will be trying Katy's again. Katy's was our go to when we didn't have time to go to Chinatown which really has some good restaurant. read more

There's some really good dishes here. I did not pick the good ones this time unfortunately. My go to is their beef noodle soup. Quality- the sweet crispy fish was pretty good. You don't usually associate fish with sweet so this is a nice change. The eggplant dish was flavorful and fresh. I was not a fan of the beef and brocolli and the flat noodle dish. It didn't have any interesting flavors. Quantity- u get a fair amount for the price. Atmosphere- nice and welcoming. Service- pretty fast. read more

I was craving for spicy dumplings and saw the resto posted by my fb friend but thr westmont location. Glad they have one near me. The dumplings i ordered is yummy. The sauce taste just the right tanginess and saltiness. Not too spicy but can add chili paste anyway. The soup doesnt look appetizing when you look at it but it actually taste good :-). Cute spot, fun art work. From the outside, it's always hard to tell if they are open due to the tint on the window, but we walked in and several tables were filled. The servers were nice. The food was worth trying. I think we didn't realize how many fried items we ordered until we got them. Oops. But they were all good, fresh oil not too saturated. Crisp and delicious. *Juicy Steamed Buns were the star. Definitely comparable to some of the soup dumplings that are my favorites in Chinatown. Would definitely come back for these. *Cha Shu Pork Buns were fluffy and tasty. The filling was great. *Crab Rangoon could use more filling, but were good. *Veggie Egg Rolls had a really tasty filling and texture. *Scallion pancakes weren't my favorite compared to others I've had, but decent. Will definitely return to try other menu items. read more

This place is such a gem in oak park. If you like spicy food, you must get their Dan Dan Noodles. Good portion sizes for the price.

The food was good! The service was awesome. I was happy with my meal and glad I chose Katy's Dumpling!!! I will be back. I got the Honey Citron Iced Tea with Lychee Jelly, that was delicious & refreshing. The Spring rolls were fresh & I loved the sauce. My favorite was the General Tao's Chicken!!! The shrimp fried noodle was good! It was nice and quiet inside. Lastly, my service was quick and friendly. read more

Delicious! I highly recommend the chow fun combination (with shrimp, beef, and chicken)--oh so good. Probably the best version of this dish I have ever had. It was perfectly seasoned, the chewy rice noodles slightly scorched and crisped up, with generous helpings of meat. We also ordered the soup dumplings, which were lovely. Very tasty broth, with good flavor of both the soup and the pork filling. Would certainly get that again. Also ordered the beef noodle soup, which was a very generous portion. I would say this one was good, but if I could only get two, I would have axed this one because it didn't come with a veggie. Taiwanese beef noodle soup normally comes with bok choy or some kind of vegetable, which adds a lot to the variation within the dish and lends freshness. Still, an amazing place that I will definitely come back to if I'm in Oak Park again. Bonus points for requiring vaccination cards to dine in! read more

Was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I found a new place for Chinese food! Came here for dinner and catch up with a friend! They do check vax cards btw! The interior is absolutely beautiful! Beautifully decorated with Chinese and asian-inspired decor. The color scheme of the restaurant is mostly red which really set the mood for dinner. Beef noodle soup: So many reviews about this soup and it's definitely soup weather so I went for it. This soup is spicy and has a nice kick to it - perfect for the cold weather!! The noodles are thick and chewy. You can tell they are housemade which makes the overall dish even better to consume. Loads of green onions. Comes with pretty big chunks of beef. The beef was a little more fatty than what I would prefer but it didn't bother me much. The broth itself was so so flavorful. Huge portion overall! Chengdu dumplings: Most reviews recommended these dumplings so me and my friend split it. So delicious! They looked bigger in pictures than in person but they are so filling and cute! Little pockets of love and comfort. The dumplings have a hefty amount of meat inside. Drenched in chili oil with lots of flavors! read more

Very nice and quiet place. Authentic Chinese food. The wonton noodle soup is served with think white noodle, about 4 wontons and 3 bok choy, flavor may be too bland for many, but just right for me. The beef noodle soup is full of flavor, as expected with curry and numbing peppercorn if that's your liking. The steam juicy bun was nice with soup so best to let it cook down before popping the whole bun in your mouth because soup is steamed in the bun. Vinegar soy sauce comes with the buns. Didn't ask if they have ginger which usually is served with it. Service was expected with one staff seat, taking orders, sr Parking in the nearby garage is recommended. Free 1.5 hour, then $2 for 1.5-2.5 hours. read more

Yum - this place is delicious! Inside, there are a variety of different seating options from more secluded booths to open tables that can be pushed together or separated for the size of your group. The price might initially seem a little high, but the portions are huge. Some of the dishes came with sides of rice. The chicken noodle soup was like a cross of heavier udon noodles with a pho-style broth with cilantro. It was perfect for a cold Chicago day. Would definitely recommend! They provided take out containers to bring the remainders home to enjoy the next day, where they reheated well. read more

This place is awesome for quick Chinese takeout! We have never dined in person before but we always get takeout and have never had an issue. The Mongolian beef is fantastic however sometimes I wish that there was a bigger beef:onion ratio. So flavorful it and pairs perfectly with fried rice (grandma's fried rice is bomb too). We also love the eggplant with minced pork, as well as the chow fun with chicken. Overall, solid Chinese if you're in the mood for that. Definitely best in the area. Have enjoyed in the past, but went for takeout the other night and both dishes were a flop. Hot and Sour soup was somehow neither hot nor sour. Three chili chicken was greasy, overly salty, and the fry oil was obviously old, making everything rancid. Hope it was just an off night. read more
