Sweet Caribou is located in the Olympic Center Plaza, right in the corner that is easy to spot. After getting a breakfast burrito at the newly opened Bema, my husband and I decided to check out Sweet Caribou. I ended up getting: 6 macrons, $13- If you purchase the macrons individually (of 5 or less), they will cost you $2.50 each. For the flavors, I picked: birthday cake, almond joy, after dinner mint, rose lychee, orange creamsicle and mango. Each flavor was very good. My husband and I enjoy sharing them. Service was friendly but they were definitely busy on a Thursday afternoon, around 12:45 pm. Sweet Caribou is a nice place to grab a bite to eat (they have sandwiches and salads on the menu), a coffee or tea and a little sweet treat. If I lived in this area, I would most likely be a regular.

Great service. DELISH gluten free sandwiches. We like their gluten free macarons also. Very very happy and grateful for this very delicious spot.

Sweet caribou has fresh salads, sandwiches and their macaroons. When I walked in the area is pretty empty, with 4 cash registers in about the middle of the floor with a cold case to the right that holds the sandwiches and salads. It's a little intimidating walking in and 4 people greet you you feel pressure to grab and go. I didn't even get a chance to see what macaroons they had because the sign was far away and not prominate, and I really felt rushed. Luckily I had a free lunch so I paid 0$ for my sandwich and was offered a free water as well. I took it next door to eat because I was getting a coffee but there were some tables to sit at. The salads are not your everyday ones but you'll have to look them up. Sandwiches are unusual too, I've only gotten the O'Malley even though it was ham but I like the olive spread. The bread is good but gets tough. I'm not sure if they make any of these items in house I have heard they do not, only the macaroons. Hmm. Kinda spends for a sandwich at $15 but comes with chips. No napkins were available and it was messy. I've had my fix it won't be a go to.

I went to the airport location and I cannot recommend it enough! I got the Matanuska Mesquite bowl and it came with a good portion of chicken, a free water, and a little macaron for dessert! Not to mention it was delicious!

Had this for lunch at work. Did take out so I wasn't able to see the restaurant and ambiance. I had the roasted turkey spenard. It was pretty good. Decent size, came with a kale salad and a macaron. Everything tasted pretty fresh. Everyone kept teasing me that it would be dry but it was actually pretty juicy!

I have purchased their macarons on a few occasions from the booth at the south Anchorage farmers market. I love them! The cookie part is light and airy, the fillings are always the right amount of sweet, and they have some amazing unique flavors! My favorite flavors are birthday cake, Rose lychee, strawberry lemonade, and tiramisu. Really great macarons! They also sell cupcakes that are very delicious! Hopefully someday I'll have an occasion that warrants purchasing a macaron tower lol. My husband's boss loves the salads here. He picks one up everyday for lunch. He also graciously gives my husband the mini macaron to bring home to me. After my husband told me about these salads I became intrigued and figured I must try them. Today was that day as I was in the area for something else. I picked up a Kenai kale quinoa and a Talkeetna ginger sesame. Both were delicious! Great portion sizes, generous protein portion, and great flavor. I will definitely get one again next time I want something healthy on the go. Definitely check out sweet caribou for their macarons, but don't overlook the salads!

The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. I'm never disappointed with fire island. A jem in anchorage.

The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.

When I first discovered this restaurant a year and a half ago, it was quaint and quiet and the food was delicious. I give 3 stars because I could see that the staff was overwhelmed with one large table and some pick up orders. That's fine....I assumed they were playing catch up....the problem I had was the attitude, as if I was bothering them by being there...and the food, Mongolian Chicken, which once it came out 35 mins later, tasted like it was 2 days old, heated up in the microwave. With the amount of money they, and all restaurants, are charging for dinner $25 to $40 with tip....I expect the quality to be the best that it can be. That's not to say that maybe it was a bad night....but now I'm hesitant to go back because I'm disappointed in the quality of food, service and overall experience.

I don't usually care for scallops but I will say there was a perfect sear and they were not over cooked. I do think some of the items were on the pricier side for what you are receiving as well as considering it's a student run lab, and not an operating restaurant. Although the restaurant is in more of a cafeteria setting thru do a very nice job of making it feel more high end with their table settings & fresh florals. The students are also dressed very professionally, and the menu is a great selection of higher end items. My favorite part of the meal were the desserts (Lady Palmer & Black cherry chocolate cake). They were exemplary quality, and I feel were restaurant ready. For our entrees I ordered the duck breast, and black cod. I really enjoyed the basil & pea puree that came with the cod, and for the duck breast I thought it was seasoned well though I would've preferred it a little less well done. For appetizers I ordered prawn fritters & a bread plate. I really enjoyed the different components of the bread plate; my favorite being the whipped honey feta. The fritters were tasty, but I wish they had more prawn pieces in them. This restaurant is a learning experience for the students so you should not go into this meal expecting 5 star perfection, but it's a great way to get involved in helping to educate the culinary students in a real life setting. The meal includes comment cards that they ask you fill out, which will really help the students improve. Lucy's was a very fun & unique experience, and I hope to be able to get a reservation again next year!
