please think twice about buying anything from John Longo, owner of SW Art Glass. Shop around, he likes to overcharge his customers. he also allows his employees to cuss at costumers. also, the customer is always wrong even when you make an order and tell them how you would like it shipped and they tell you we don't care what you want, even though he wouldn't admit he was wrong, or apologize for saying he didn't give a **ck, very egotistical and toooo busy to take one order. I call it lazy and unappreciative of loyal customers that order lots of glass. BEWARE read more

GO SOME PLACE ELSE! This business is awful. When I walked in, the negative energy was palpable. It's filthy. It's confusing. It's unsafe. It's unpleasant. The website is terrible. There's no signage to guide a customer around the shop and it's extremely difficult to figure out prices. The customer service stinks. John, the owner is especially unpleasant He seems oppressive, like he hates the world. He's very condescending to women--or is it everyone? The staff looks like they've been hit with stun guns. No one seems to know much about the glass selection, tools, classes or guest lecturers, and worse, they seem like they don't care. The only person who is tolerable is Rob Fleischner and he isn't always there. The class schedule is awful. It looks like it was created using a free program. It's difficult to follow and when a class is full, it disappears from the web site. You can't look at it again to find out about the tools for the first class. I took one class. Although the instructor knew the craft, s/he couldn't teach. There was no introduction to tell us what would be taught each week or how our time would be used. The instructor jumped all over the place when teaching a process. There was very little information about safety. (Buy safety glasses.) The classrooom space is minimalistic, an after-thought. It is part of a much larger workspace which may have employees working in it. The tables are rough, cheap wood. Soldering irons are plugged into multiple powerstrips and extension cords brought by the instructor. The grinders are filthy. The classroom has no fresh air or climate control. When the kiln is firing near the class's tables, it's hot and toxic. The kiln is turned on and no one seems to supervise it. I didn't see any fire extinguishers. Be mindful. There is only one way out! I could write much more, but I'd rather spend my time writing reviews for great small businesses. The fact is that small businesses need us and good reviews. After so many negative reviews, John, the owner, should take heed. Customers vote with their feet. Like so many others who have reviewed this small business, I won't be back. Nor will my friends or family who were considering glasswork and classes based on my experience. We'll go elsewhere. read more

Had a great experience initially, but almost every one since has been incredibly disappointing. Most of the staff is downright rude and acts like you're in their way while they're filling online orders. Need something cut? You'll be met with a huge sigh and eye roll lol. Have a question on where something might be? They tell you just to go look for it because they don't have time. It's crazy. Great selection of glass, but poor customer service. Don't be fooled by bad reviews, bad reviews are 9 out of ten the competition or just impossible people. I found this company by accident. Trying to find iridescent glass. I live pretty far from anywhere you can buy glass, so having to order most of the time almost was killing me, the shipping was more than the glass order sometimes. I dreaded buying glass because of it, plus the sheets were always overpriced. SW has been a game changer, 15 flat rate shipping is unheard of. And to top it off I have recieved my orders the next day. I'm sure if you live on the east coast it would take maybe a day or 2 longer but I quarentee you will be amazed. The staff is always so nice, and accommodating. I would give them million stars if I could. read more

Visited this shop when I was on vacation in the area. The employees were wonderful! I'm new to the hobby and they spent the time helping me find the right glass, getting my order ready to ship and letting me wander around in awe for about an hour. I ordered glass from them after finding their account on Instagram. They sent my glass to the wrong address, an address I'd never given them. I wrote them multiple times trying to figure out how to get the glass sent to my proper address- to the direct email they sent and on their Instagram, and nothing was done. One of the people told me next time I ordered they'd send it via usps to my correct address, but of course I'm not planning on ordering with them again. This left me without the $60+ dollars I paid for the glass, and behind on a commission. Thankfully my customer was understanding, but it left such a bad taste in my mouth. I held off on writing this review, but buyer beware if you plan on ordering from their online shop. read more

For those Glass enthusiasts who are in need glass supplies , glass 96-90 Classes etc. they are also available at other locations saving yourself from having to deal with ( John )one of the most unprofessional rude disconnected delusional and a total loser who's angry at the world and one of the lowest of human beings ever employed as a Manager and dealing with customers at this store. Yes I'm not a fan of being mistreated and talked down to as a customer and I will never return to this store for any products which I can purchase at another locally as well. I'm offended as a customer and as a human being to have ever been mistreated as to feel compelled to stand up and say something. It's NOT the necessary to have this person employed as a manager if he doesn't want to be there . He might be a good artist but he' sucks as a human being and In these times of all that's going on in this world it's not an excuse to be a jerk. Unfortunately I was looking forward to taking classes from Rob who's amazing as an instructor and a very professional awesome person who is fantastic with others and students beginners as myself. Now I'm discouraged to continue having any contact with this store ever again. I will look elsewhere like Milkweed for a group class and instructors and store to buy supplies from . Staff was rude, sarcastic, condescending, and cut me off without letting me explain what I was looking for - downright nasty. Went as far as telling me they didn't need to provide good customer service - that people could go elsewhere. Worst attitude of any business I have visited in many, many years. (Btw - high prices and no itemized receipt so if you don't memorize the prices - and not all bins are marked - you will have no clue if you were over charged.) read more

These guys are awesome! Pay no attention to the bad reviews here, I read them and disagree, this place is the bees knees! There's options for classes in their studio, if you aren't artsy and want to learn that is the best way. Asking them a question of "how do you do this?" is best done in classes. If you ask that and then are told something you don't want to hear, you consider them rude? No. Don't be dumb. They are suppliers, not baby sitters. I'm in here at least once a week working on projects (yes they even offer studio time if you don't have a place to work at home). That's how awesome these guys are. read more

Went to SW Art Glass for the first time today, lots of nice glass, but the staff was very rude, unprofessional and offered nothing positive. Tried to blame me for putting a run in a $16 piece of glass when I set it on the worktable. I did not damage the glass, I work with glass all the time. I ntended to purchase it for mosaics so if there was a run it would not matter anyway. Walked out, will never go back to this place again. Looks like by some of the other reviews, other customers are treated poorly as well. read more

I absolutely love this place!! I'm shocked & surprised by the negative reviews. I've always had good experiences here. In addition, it's the only place in The Valley where you can purchase Bullseye glass. Both John & Rob, as well as their support staff are always friendly & helpful. My only critique would be that some of their tools aren't the top brands, but I'm guessing they're trying to save customers $$. In addition, they always give the Bullseye volume discounts, same as purchasing directly from Bullseye, but without the shipping costs. I guess you can't please everybody... read more

I took a lampwork bead class yesterday. Today I picked up my beads. I loved the class, the teacher was very knowledgeable and made the class fun. I can hardly wait to take another class. Very large shop with all kinds of glass, and equipment for many kinds of projects. They are on Groupon if you want to give it a try. I would just like to see more classes!!!!! read more

This glass company is a great place to learn different types of things that can be done with glass. The people who own this place are exceptionally knowledgeable. If you are interested in different types of glass classes.....and you don't see them listed as a class to take, then ask....you never know, they may already be doing it or can add it to their schedule. Don't ding the on yelp until you find out. I was a slow learner and time was taken to work me through the process. I totally appreciated their time and energy to help me. Now I am enjoying glass fusing and will branch out to learning more and more from this company. Oh, and I will say their inventory of glass is wonderful. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a fused glass pendant class. The class was easy to schedule online and many dates were available. Upon arriving to the studio, I was greeted promptly and everyone was kind. The instructor for my class was funny and very informative, making the process seem doable and fun. The supplies were all provided and safety wasn't any concern despite dealing with broken pieces of glass. Although I have zero artistic or design background/ability, I was able to make a pendant that I really like and will definitely wear (and it will be fun to tell people I made it myself!). I would highly recommend this studio and this class to everyone! read more

I went to this glass shop because I needed a special glass for my kitchen cabinets and they happen to carry it. I spent over $600 dollars and when I went in because the glass sizes were off and wouldn't fit in my cabinet doors, the owner John was a complete idiot. He thought that correcting the mistake for "no charge" was so noble!!!! The owner John, REFUSED to cut some glass I had not purchased from him "even though I OFFERED to pay him! His EXACT words "I don't cut any glass I don't sell.......I would not consider that customer service, would you??? Not customer service oriented AT ALL and down right rude! Instead of being "accomodating" he berated me for asking him to fix the problem that literally was fixed in less than 2 seconds. When I commented to him that my request literally took less than 2 seconds to fix he let me know "this is WHY we don't like to do this. No matter what they want to contend, if they would have cut it correct the 1st time I wouldn't have had to return! Absolute abhorent customer service and with the multitude of options I suggest avoiding giving this owner any business!!! John is an angry old man and his worker Jaimie had to show the owner "he too, could be rude. Because I commented to them that fixing the issue took less than 2 seconds but they felt a need to complain for a lot longer than it took just to make it right, they yelled while I was walking out of the store that I was NEVER allowed back there. I found that quite comical because I had ZERO intention of stepping foot in there again and decided to share this story so others could decide before giving this place a dime. I don't take any joy from writing a negative review but I think that allowing the public to be informed is worth the few minutes it would take to share! read more
