Highly recommended Tumbleweed Stained Glass to anyone looking for a custom piece! Roseanne did an incredible job on our project from start to finish. We wanted a small single pane to display on a shelf beneath a skylight, and this shop came highly recommended as the place to go. We couldn't be happier with the final result. It was fun to have her walk us through the design process, and picking out the perfect glass colors. Price was reasonable and turnaround time was quicker than I expected. I cannot say enough amazing things about them! I have always wanted a stained glass window in every house I lived in and now I can say I do!!! First of all, from the first day we walked into their shop just to inquire about the process, they were so friendly and informative. Roseanne was so gracious in going through all my "screenshot pictures" to get an idea of what I wanted. She also has an album of their amazing work. A couple of weeks later she had a sketch for us and helped us pick types of glass for design. I cannot be more happy in the design and artistic choices she made in selecting the glass! When Fred and Mike came to install the window they were very professional and super friendly. They cleaned and touched up after. I can't say enough about the team at Tumbleweed. We had a 200lb. Great Dane decide to try to intimidate an Amazon delivery person by standing on his rear paws and smashing our stained-glass front door side window. While the security camera caught the event in brilliant video (and audio), the horror of the damage to the glass really killed the viral-video moment for us. Fred, Roseanne and Mike turned an awful situation into a great one by removing the entire panel (no easy feat), taking it back to the shop and returning it in better condition than it was. They are the perfect balance of art and science and their quality of work is phenomenal. We also appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail. If you have any stained-glass needs, look no further than Tumbleweed Stained Glass. And if you have a Great Dane, try to teach him/her the finer points of restraint and the importance of Amazon delivery personnel. read more

Sad to say this was an unpleasant experience. The ladies working there were unpleasant and appeared to be annoyed to assist me with cutting glass and making a purchase. I won't return here. I would rather chance glass breaking in the mail then return to this store. read more

I'm restoring a 1913 Stanley 4 foot mahogany level and the 6 pieces of oval glass which protects the bubble vials were broke. Stanley said they did not have any parts for something that old. I tried several glass shops and all recommended I try Tumbleweed as they possible could cut my small oval shapes. I stopped in and right away was helped. I thought I'd have to wait, but.... Roseanne told me she would make them now. It took about 15 minutes and I was out the door a VERY happy customer! I would recommend Tumbleweed to anyone looking for intricate cut glass as they went above and beyond for me! read more

I took an idea to the owner, for a window, and we worked on it together for about a month, we finally got a design we both liked and I was ready to get started and her husband came out into the store on my last vist and shouted at me,! and said "she can't do that for the price she quoted you"...I said why...he said "because she's put so much time into the design and it's a lot more detailed now". I told him I designed it and he said, "That doesn't matter, she has to much time invested and it's gonna cost a lot more now". I asked her why she didn't say anything to this as we worked together on the design...she just shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. He kept on about her time and I turned and left the building. Terrible customer service, rude man. I felt bad for her as it was clear she was embarrassed. read more

Roseanne, who is very creative, spent time with us and made it fun to design a master bathroom window. We had a mission style window in our entry way and wanted to use elements of that design in the bathroom. We were excited to see her design and we were not disappointed! When I was in college I took an internship with a prominent stained glass artist in L.A. For a semester I worked on my piece in tandem with him and was pretty thrilled with what I came up with. Shortly after finishing the piece I stored it in my dorm room, where I accidentally knocked it over and cracked it in three spots. I was devastated. The entire ten years it's been sitting in my storage room, broken, and unfixed. I wasn't even aware that stained glass could easily be repaired, or that it would even be in my budget to fix it. Finally about a month ago I said "F* it! I'm getting this thing fixed!" I'm in the process of moving out of state and figured I didn't want to transport my broken piece one more time. It was depressing. I googled around and found Tumbleweed Stained Glass in Mesa, very close to my house. I called and told them my situation, they said it was no problem and to take it in for a quote. Fred, the owner, is SUPER nice and told me it'd be no problem to fix my piece. He quoted me a very reasonable $120 to pull it out of the frame (which I only assume is a pain in the ass), replace the glass that was broken, put the frame back on and put screws on the frame so it can be easily hung. I thought that was a killer deal, as I was wiling to pay hundreds to repair it. I'm very glad this place exists, and am even happier that I have this piece to hang again! read more

My husband and I drove over from North Phoenix to check out this shop as I'm just beginning to learn stain glass (foiling). The owner was extremely helpful, took quite awhile explaining and teaching me some things. We ended up buying a grinder, custom grip cutter and table top foiler! So, so rude. My boyfriend and I were just looking for some glass to work on a new project with and were treated like idiots for asking for clarity on some colors. We were pretty desperate for a diamond grinder bit, but even with that desperation we walked away. We understand that with the pandemic there are struggles owners of businesses face, and we weren't upset that we weren't allowed in to browse, just hoped to support local instead of purchasing online. We were, however, incredibly frustrated that the woman who "greeted" us treated us like we never should have been there, and made us feel stupid for asking questions, or even trying to make stained glass. We would much rather drive further for better service, I went to Kachina Stained Glass before their temporary closure and despite being 20 minutes further away we will be going again. I would NEVER recommend, I don't know how you can have a business that is so focused on working with customers and be so miserable and mean. read more

Fred understood what I wanted and searched the entire store, even the back workshop/storage room and finally found enough of the kind of glass I wanted. He was patient, persistent, and helpful. Probably some of the worst customer service. I go in there looking for some glass for a lamp I'm working on and start looking around. I'm looking at some pieces and one of the worker is telling me to stop looking because they don't have other pieces of glass and that's it. So without even nowing what I'm working on she assume it's not going to work. I was fine with it and look at some bigger pieces and ask if some she knew anything similar to what I was looking at and she just said no. I was a little taken aback about how rude she was with the whole thing. Then I had two small matching pieces that I thought might work but just needed one more smaller piece and it would but the employee just say "well you're not going to find another piece so I'm going to take this one" and takes one of the glass piece for one of her own projects that she was working on when I wasn't even finished looking and she had told me earlier that I would not find the second piece to begin with. I am shocked that this place has such great reviews, it's either friends of the store or other stained glass snobs that they now. I don't know if the glass world is not very inclusive or has cliques but I could definitely tell she did not want me in there. So I guess be wary if you're new or don't know them because they probably will want you to leave, also cheaper just getting it online and closer since I drove an hour to get here read more

Small place, their counter is always crowded with their junk so you can't put down what you want to buy and the most unfriendly and unhelpful place I think I have ever been. The woman - Rose? Rosemary? - something like that is very unpleasant, all the time. I've been there numerous times, probably 12 - 15 times, and she is always the same miserable person. She doesn't like people to browse and look at stuff to get ideas. She wants you to quickly buy what you will and then get out. I want to go the distance, to another place next time. I just haven't got much good to say about going here. That woman is miserable and she's enough to put anyone in a bad mood when they leave. read more

I moved into a new home about two years ago and have been slowly making cosmetic changes to the home, room by room. My starting point was the foyer and I had been trying to decide what to do about this large window. I Googled a few stained glass businesses in the Valley and dropped in to see Roseanne (owner & artist) at Tumbleweed. I found Roseanne to be very friendly and knowledgable and the store was filled with so many different styles and colors of glass. The process of creating a custom stained glass window was more intensive than I thought it would be. I suppose I thought I could just point and pick and POOF; it would be done. Not so much. I found that it is actually a process, at least for me it was. Roseanne showed be several books of her work and patterns. It took me a couple of weeks to decide on the pattern. I opted for an "Indian Blanket" theme and Roseanne customized the pattern for me. Next was choosing the color. Again Roseanne gave me one on one attention and assisted me choosing the most beautiful color palate. Then choosing the clear glass. When this was done its time to hurry up and wait. It took about 4 weeks to complete. Which was fine, and well worth the wait. The window is absolutely stunning. Right around 4:30pm every day as the sun is making its decent, the sunlight filters through the different textures and colors of that window and cast the most beautifully warm glow into my home. It is simply beautiful and well worth the money and time. I do highly recommend this business. I will be a return customer...next project: a glass mosaic for about the fireplace!! read more
