Went to 3 stores for a spacer for a sewing machine and the whole floor helped my friend and I. They had everything. BEST experience ever!! It's now our favorite creative store!

Joann-exclusive resin holiday miniatures (angel baby/deer, mummy baby, mummy) on sale. So detail-oriented and beautiful, aren't they?

I stopped by this new store yesterday that had a grand opening day three days prior. I was so appreciative that Joann came back and opened a branch in central-east Phoenix. Years ago, there used to be a Joann nearby on Indian School Rd and even by Christown Spectrum. After they both closed, Joann kept Joann Etc located all the way northwest at near Arrowhead Mall and all the way northeast on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd (which eventually moved to Desert Ridge, something like that). That meant they both were too far and way out. Armed with a Joann coupon mailer that I received in the mail, I stopped by to pick up the Joann-exclusive resin holiday miniatures that I needed to decorate my holiday shadow boxes. The Halloween ones were on sale for 75% off and the Christmas ones were 40% off, and combining the coupon, I got an extra 20% discount. How about that ;) Although they had minor trouble getting their register to discount the Halloween items, so the staff had to override it and manually apply the discounts. Thank-you for not making it awkward for a customer in me as I exerted the coupons and made sure that they were applied to my total- and, not overcharging me. The staff was pleasant overall, and it wasn't busy as I was there in the evening. The store was clean and tidy, and it looked and smelled new. The craft and fabric selection in stock were plentiful, although it's smaller than a Joann Etc. I was actually there only for the Joann exclusives, which is all Joann stores in the valley. Yet, I browsed around to see what they carried and gained an idea what to expect should I visit again... Welcome back to Arcadia, Joann :)

They advertise they have the clearance up to 90% off but when you try to apply coupons they won't let you use them.

The order was delivered quickly and the other that I picked up was ready when I went to store to picking up.

Ordering swatches online is time consuming and turned up nothing I wanted. I also went to a few warehouse style stores, but the selection was not great and the special order fabrics turned out to be unavialable. Calico Fabrics is a bit on the high side but the selection is excellent and I was able to score the perfect fabric on sale. The fabric is a plaid Ikat with rich greens, browns, cream and a touch of black. My fabricator made gorgeous upholstered cornice boards, a drapery panel to frame the sliding glass door and bonus--a Roman Shade for my office. Shout out to Gayle, who helped me at Calico. Bedskirt for a standard king. I ordered a standard king (80long x 76 wide) bedskirt with a 15" drop. The bedksirt was made according the the "standard" measures that calico has, which was not 76" wide. They want to charge me to remake the skirt. I signed the ordered b/c I assumed they had standard king measures. It's a simple google search. They are blaming their workroom. 3. Ordered a headboard late in the day. Tried to cancel within 30 min and they "had to call corp". (East coast. Office closed). I had to continually call them to get an answer in if it could be cancelled. I feel like the store didn't really try to resolve. I now have the headboard- super poor quality. The "white glove" delivery is a joke. I guess white glove means they bring it inside without the brackets. I wonder if standard delivery means they bring it to the driveway? Called the store manager. We will see but I'm not hopeful. $5000 in one month and every item is wrong, bad or just Meh.

I asked her if this was posted anywhere and she said it was. No where was this posted. Not on the door, not next to the cashier no where. I'm a rule follower, the more rules the better in my opinion. Not only does she bark this order at me, but after I tell her I don't see a sign saying no drinks (I had a sealed bottle of Gatorade on a 84 degree day) she says it's there......spend your money elsewhere. I happily went to Michael's and spend over $80 on fabric, just because they treated me like a human and didn't bark orders at me. I'm sorry you hate your job girlie, but it is not my fault. -10 stars DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU SIMPLY WANT FABRIC FOR A CHEAPER PRICE. There are other places with cheaper prices, but if you don't mind spending the extra dollar. Russ at Michael's at Tempe market place was so available and willing to help me, plus he served as a Marine and National Guardsmen for +21 years. Take your money to a place that will treat you well. Not here. So I tried calling the store to ask if I could speak to a manager, a girl named Becky got on the phone, started telling me not to curse at her (I wasn't cursing) then hung up on me. When I tried to call back i was hung up on again. Then the next time I was met with the same hostility. I tried to call another location to get the owners info, and was told that Becky is in fact in charge of all the locations and is the head of Sas. I pray God blesses you and your business Becky in the same way you bless others. Best believe I will tell everyone I know not to shop here.

I had not great experiences at the Phoenix sewing multi-brand store (not Mulqueen or Bernina). I had said I wanted to stay under $1k and had received the most appalled reaction and customer service. Contrast to Mulqueen. Walk in, all the machines are on & ready to play with. I had called to check availability of a few models and chose this location over tempe based on machines on the floor. I brought scraps with me & set to testing but was quickly confused by some of the buttons. A woman appeared right about that time, sat down next to me and walked me through it. Keep in mind this was a $500 machine not $3k or something. She even suggested a less expensive version next to it often used in their classes (Janome) ultimately decided this was too basic & I missed computerized so she walked me to the Juki I requested next & I quickly set to work testing it. This particular model (hzl f600) was over m y budget but I knew the basic functionality was similar to the ones I was considering. Absolutely loved it! Denim, slippery rayon, no issues. She said you know we might have this used. She walked me to the oasis of used/refurb machines. They had every machine I was considering-available used/refurb and under $1k!! I ultimately got the f600 used -could not be happier-and saved enough to buy way more fabric than I need. My only complaint is we need a location in Phoenix or Scottsdale!!!! The gentleman in the refurb area was also super helpful answering questions the woman couldn't (she had long gray hair but didn't catch a name). Well worth the 35 minute drive & seriously only place I will go for machines.

I was able to walk it and get a general sense for what they have in about 5 minutes. They had cute Arcadia totes for $60, candles were around $40, and other various end tables, napkins, table settings, pillows, wood beads, bowls, baskets, etc. A great selection of neutral/timeless pieces. Unfortunately I didn't purchase anything because I couldn't let myself spend that much money for small-ish items but it was fun browsing. If I had all of the money in the world, I would definitely shop here regularly! Their pieces are totally my style. :) The lady working was super friendly and even offered me a water while I was shopping. All in all, a nice addition to the neighborhood.
