The owner rushed me and my friend (a professional fashion designer) to make snap decisions about materials--without ever asking to see my design ideas. Later, she tried to put the blame on me for not providing every single detail up front. She insulted the sundress I was wearing, treated us like we were wasting her time, and then quoted me twice the price for the same style of dress I later purchased at Brilliant Bridal North Phoenix. Whether she was intimidated by my friend's design background or simply had somewhere else to be, the message was clear: our business wasn't valued. Warning: The staff may sound warm and convincing over the phone, but the in-person reality is very different. Expect the ambience of a 1980s time capsule--fun only if you're nostalgic for that decade. The glowing reviews here are either wildly generous... or bought and paid for. I needed a dress altered for my son's wedding in Italy. I came in 3 weeks ahead of the event. It was a simple job of taking up the straps and there was a seam there. The woman repeatedly asked when I was leaving for my trip. She never gave me a date and the charge was ridiculous, more than the dress cost. When I stopped in to see why it wasn't ready 2 weeks later, she said I told you it would be Monday; she never gave me a date. This left me with 2 days to pack for a 2+ week trip and they never even asked me to try the dress on to see if it was done correctly. Wouldn't have mattered anyway if it would have taken them another 2+ weeks to correct. I will never go back there. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday ( from out of town and I saw ad in a local magazine) and it seemed like I was not welcome. Was measured over clothes in the front of the shop , handed a bra with " I have to make a call" and left standing there. Put bra on and she came into changing room and made quick adjustments ( front up, back down, straps out) and said put on shirt. Said looks great. She's the boob whisperer so I said ok and not noticing cups gap and back fat/skin is bulging - turns out size is totally wrong -32DDD and I got refitted somewhere else today for a 34 DD. I tried and tried to make the orig bra work but was not correct at all. I will donate to goodwill. Very disappointed that a boob whisperer could be so wrong. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. On the day of my daughters prom we picked up her dress which had to be altered (after waiting weeks to have it done) and found an absolute abomination. The dress was destroyed. She added I don't know what to the sides of the top bodice. It was hideous and not at all how it was pinned. At the last hour on Saturday, the day of the prom we had to go and buy a new dress. My daughter was in tears and as you can imagine it was a horrible experience for her. Then when I phoned the owner to complain she accused me of lying and just wanting my money back because I wouldn't bring my daughter back in to be refitted and show her. What difference will it make to bring her back next week when prom is over?Here are the photos. I've used Danese Creations twice for alterations for a bridesmaid dress (on short notice) and wedding dress. We also had her do my sisters' bridesmaid dresses and mother of bride dress. I've always been plenty satisfied with her services. Since I'm petite with a booty, my figure requires quite a bit on the alterations. She shortened the shoulders, arms and hem of my dress, added cups and slimmed the bodice. It made my figure and dress look stunning. Wonderful experience with Silvia. Went to her 3 weeks before prom to make a dress just from a photo and no pattern. Unfortunately the fabric we chose went to back order and did not come in until Tuesday before prom! Silvia was calm and reassuring the entire time which helped me as the mom keep my daughter calm and reassured. We had a fitting Thursday night, Friday night, and then completion Saturday morning. My daughter works so she was flexible with the fitting times being at night. Silvia was responsive with updates and again reassurance along the way. She never showed to us the customer her stress or concerns. To me this is top customer service because everyone knows how stressful it can be. She also handled my daughter with ease. Rude, attitude, lied, & no sense of urgency for a paying customer. I give Danese creations 1 Star only because the project was eventually completed. My sister had Danese remake our grandmothers dress into her own wedding dress, the final project turned out fine other than the right shoulder strap being longer than the left shoulder strap. However, Danese had the dress since the beginning of JUNE and would absolutely refuse to have it ready until the first week of OCTOBER. we told her over and over that we needed the dress for peace of mind because weddings are stressful enough and she refused to get it back to us, causing my sister a ton of stress and tears. My final comment is that towards the end of all this, Danese told us we would be picking up the final product last Monday (6 days before the wedding!) but when we arrived the dress had NO LINING, lace trim was NOT attached, & straps were NOT finished. I brought this up to her in the meeting and she lied directly to my face saying "I never told you this would be completed by today". Remember this is 6DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING, and the final product still had flaws. Had this all been done IN JUNE as requested- we could have had a perfect wedding dress for my sisters big day. While some of these reviews are positive the experience we had with Danese Creations was awful. I had called to get my second fitting and they told I needed to wait because the wedding wasnt for a few more weeks, then when I went for my second fitting, they had not done anything yet with the dress. I told them I had to have it ready on a Friday morning at 8am since I was leaving town for our wedding. They called me Friday morning at 7am asking how late they could keep working on the dress because they were running behind. So as I was on my way to airport I picked up my dress only to try it on later to find it was completely ruined. I was so disappointed and had to go to another alterations place at my destination wedding location to have them fix it in a day. At no point did Danese apologize for not having my dress done on time or offer a refund. read more

I have been a customer here for years (7 + at least), and ever since Scylvia hired her assistant it's been downhill. This assistant will always interrupt on the phone, frequently says, "It's not MY fault", and is generally quick to contradict herself. I ordered some garments in March and every 3 months or so, have called to check on the garments. This assistant will generally say, "I'll check, can I call you back tomorrow?" But never does. The last straw was a few weeks ago when I called to check my order. First the assistant told me I had ordered from a future catalog (back in March), and then said the catalog was outdated from 2019 and that's why I hadn't gotten most of my orders in. This error should've been caught the FIRST time I called, not the last. Thankfully they refunded me but I feel like I deserved more by having to manage my own order and coordinate conversations. I paid a premium on those garments for Danese Creations to handle it for me, but it was a lost cause. DON'T come here. read more

Danese Creations lost my wedding veil. I brought my wedding dress and veil in to be preserved. My husband went to pick them up, but the veil was missing. They told us they would call the heirloom company, because it probably got misplaced. After waiting several weeks, I got the bad news. It was no where to be found. The heirloom company did the right thing and paid for it, but my wedding veil was irreplaceable. Worst experience ever. Major disappointment. First of all, Danese Creations does NOT post prices and seems to charge fees based on their mood - and they seem like a very moody group! I was charged $350 to have my wedding dress brought in and cap sleeves added. I then had to wait 2 months to get my dress. When I went to pick it up, Sylvia FORGOT what she was suppose to do to it, so I had to wait another 2 weeks. Sylvia may have a reputation for good work, but I found her place lacking in professionalism and communication. Be prepared to have several interruptions while you are trying on your wedding dress by staff and her husband coming in and out of the dressing room area. Her store also needs some major upgrades. It was very cramped and dirty. You'd think for as much money she's charging people, that she would actually do some remodeling. read more

WOW. To say the least. I love using Yelp. I think it is a great tool for people to use to inform others about their experience with a certain business or service. I also feel it should be utilized by the owners of these businesses to improve their business, based on customers reviews on Yelp. This did not happen at Danese Creations. In fact in this case I felt like I was being confronted and accosted by Sylvia the owner of Danese Creations. The last time I was in the store she approached me about my poor review on Yelp of how she treated me and how I thought there were problems in her business. I don't think she ever read my first review. I consider my second review of this business to be a hello, you have an unhappy customer based on your PERSONAL customer service as an owner, not your staff, about you and I have no complaints about your craft. Being an owner I don't think you hear it from your staff or other customers so I am using Yelp as an outlet. AGAIN IN GENERAL THE CRAFTSMANSHIP IS EXCELLENT. But for you to approach me in the manner you did for my second review of your location was uncalled for. And then to ask me to remove my review only enforces what my second review was saying. You are a bit pushy and over the top, and I think that you could treat people a bit better. I appreciate your apology after we talked but the way you went about it I felt was wrong. I can honestly say that I thought she was very unprofessional and I agree with the several other reviews that are on this page that have been left since I first Yelped this business. The pricing is not posted and changes each time you go there even if you are getting the same alteration. And Sylvia can at times be a bit of for lack of a better word a snob!!!! I am giving this place one more chance. I don't want to be accosted when I come into the store for any reason let alone my review of what I think your business needs or does not need on yelp. If this can not be achieved I have no problem searching yelp for another tailoring business were I can be respected as a consumer. This place is a complete joke. My cousin is getting married in June and we decided to check this place out to see if they knew how to add custom alterations to a wedding dress for a reasonable price. It was a waste of time. The lady who greeted us was friendly. She had my cousin try on her wedding dress and went to the back room. The owner came out and I had to bite my tongue the entire time we were there. She criticized my cousin's choice in the bra she was wearing. I'm sorry, it's not her wedding day and she's not wearing the bra made for the dress. It's just a damn fitting and none of your business. My cousin explained what she wants for alterations and that was beyond her mental capacity, apparently. "Honey, that's just a jacket." No, it's obviously not a jacket if we specifically described everything BUT a jacket. She was incredibly rude and I had to stay on my phone the entire time to not flip out on her. How do you own a bridal alterations business and not know how to speak to customers? On top of the attitude problem and inexperience, she tried to quote my cousin at $550. Such a waste of time. I would hope she can read these Yelp reviews and adjust herself and business accordingly. read more

I came here to have my wedding dress altered. My mother is a long-time customer, and we wouldn't trust anyone else with it! Scylvia provided professional, on-point, expert advice and delivered! We had purchased the sample dress from a dress shop, and Scylvia got right on it to take it in, shorten it, add straps, extend the zipper, add a belt, add a bra, make a bow and provide bustles. We went through three dress fittings, and on the last one just before the wedding, there were a couple of touch ups we requested that she took care of within a couple of hours so we could pick it up later that day. This included her touching up the dress length that day, once she saw the flats I was going to wear after the ceremony, so she made sure I wouldn't trip on my dress. Her services are expensive, but when you have an important alteration to make (like a wedding dress), she is the right person to do the job. I had almost no problem with my dress come wedding day, and it was so easy to wear and put on! She is not afraid to express her opinions and stick to them--she does know what she is doing. We came in with questions and some ideas of what alterations we wanted, and she told us what and how she could do it to make the dress look amazing and also wearable. So you should be prepared if you have ideas of how alterations should go that she may disagree and will instead have a better idea of how to make your vision happen. Super Pricy. However, the only place I trust with my competition evening gowns with all their beadwork and boning altering. She made things happen that other tailors said were "impossible". Sylvia really makes miracles happen and fixes even the most hopelessly ill fitting gowns to fit me perfectly. (I'm a size 0000p) She has some expert solutions and her finishes are very neat. Heck, if I could only land my apprenticeship here! The store operates till 8 PM on the weekdays which is more accessible to me since I get off work around 6:30 PM. I brought a plain black dress to get some changes to the neckline and we ended up planning a belt and bustle. I just picked the dress up and it blew me away! It is now a beautiful unique dress because of the ideas Scylvia had and it fits like a glove! I love it! I attend a lot of formal events and this is one of my favorite dresses! I'm nursing and needed a supportive bra, I made an appointment, (was 30 mins late!) got fitted, tried on one of their Italian nursing bras ( which doesn't look like a nursing bra) it fit and felt perfect, and I walked put with two of them. 66 bucks each and WELL worth it. The woman who helped me was VERY personable and not in a sales person way. I could tell she just genuinely liked the product she was selling. I had a dress altered for my engagement photos. I needed the dress shortened about 10 inches. Instead of shortening it from the bottom like I asked them to, he created a new seamline around the hips of the dress. This caused the dress to fit poorly and the slit in the back to be too tight. When I called with concern, the person Who answered the phone was less than helpful. It was over $100 to get the dress altered and now it's basically ruined.
