The sales people were nice, but they overbooked themselves. I had to book an appointment in order to go dress shopping, but then when I got there, people were everywhere and the sales people didn't have time to really focus on me or select dresses. I was not comfortable in that place as they wanted you to parade around the store with a bunch of other moms who were trying on dresses. I just wanted to be in my dressing room and figure out what I liked and did it like. For the price you pay I didn't feel like you got the Customer Service that I think they strive for. I originally booked another appointment for my mom and sister to come, but because of my bad experience, I canceled it and went to David's Bridal and Dillard's in Scottsdale instead with great success. read more

This is such a unique store. Perfect place to go if you need a mother of the bride/groom dress. I made an appointment and received excellent friendly service. I'm petite and was looking for a dress that was simple and elegant. The first dress they recommended was the one to beat. But they happily pulled at least a dozen dresses for me to try on. No high pressure sales which I appreciated. They just wrote down the info for the dress I fell in love with and said call us when you're ready to order and feel free to come back and try it on again if you'd like to. Very disappointing - I had an appointment but didn't receive a greeting on arrival. It was obviously the end of a busy weekend and the vibe was tired and overwhelmed. After waiting 15 minutes without a greeting I started to pull my own selections. Some of the samples are shabby. Most are highly embellished floor length gowns, made of run of the mill fabrics. Overall I found the designs predictable and uninspiring -- literally only one or two were in any way out of the ordinary. There is also no merchandising here / just rails. There are many rave reviews so quite possibly I was here on a "bad day" or with the wrong expectations, but with that said the selections are not at all what I am looking for. read more

I can't rave about this place enough! I searched for several months for a mother of the groom stress and was unsuccessful. I searched online and found Simply Stunning Moms. I went in on a Sunday and had so many options to choose from and Kim the owner was so helpful. I ended up taking my mom in and she had a successful visit as well, now I'm taking my future in laws (Mother of the Bride and Grandma of the Bride in) to see if we can find them a dress which I am confident we will. The best part is they help find something that makes you feel beautiful! Stay far away! Disgusting and appalling customer service is what we encountered in this store today. Not only did they immediately accuse me of being someone I'm not, as this was my first time ever here, (I live in California) but they made remarks towards me that were not only inappropriate but inaccurate, I'm assuming because I am a Latina woman. I not only had to keep asking for help while being treated in a disrespectful demeanor but I left in tears with how uncomfortable the associates made me feel. Shame on those associates, shame on the business owner for condoning such behavior, and shame on the standards set so low here that this type of service is acceptable. I will never enter this shop again and I suggest others stay away as well, especially if your minority! Disgraceful. Also Kim was the worst of them all. read more

We went over the weekend to find a dress for my mom for my wedding. The shop owner called a few days prior to notify her of a cancellation which we promptly took. We arrived for our visit and were greeted with a friendly welcome and then some style requests. She helped guide us through the store and reviewed a few highlights and then let us walk around and choose a handful of dresses that we would start with. We were pleasantly surprised when we found three dresses that were strong contenders and found ourselves needing to choose a favorite. The shop owner told us she doesn't do the "f" word, frumpy. She was absolutely correct not a frumpy dress in the store! She was also really detailed with things that could be modified, sleeves, hem, slit, etc. read more

This place is great! I searched so many stores and online options trying to find the perfect dress for my daughters wedding but failed. I'm super picky and just couldn't seem to find anything I liked. I contacted Kim and she scheduled for me to come in and try on some dresses. I gave Kim an idea of what I wanted and everything she gave me to try on I liked. I was only there a short time and found the most beautiful dress! It was easy to purchase/order, came in when they said it would and the alterations turned out awesome. I (the bride) came with my mom to try on dresses for her for my wedding and overall our experience was meh. I'm leaving a 3 star review for 2 reasons. Firstly, this place is FRUMP CITY!!! 95% of the dresses are VERY mature, frumpy, and old lady-ish. So if you're looking for something that would be worn by someone under 70, stay far away. Now, I'm sure this is what the majority of their clientele is looking for, so I understand that they are going to stock what sells, but this style definitely wasn't for us. There is LOTS of muted/"dusty" colors. The majority of the dresses there are muted dusty rose, champagne (or grandma gold as I call it), black, and navy blue. So if you aren't looking for one of those colors, your likelihood of finding a dress there is very slim. I am having a spring wedding, so we were looking for a lighter or brighter, non-muted color, like a light or bright pink, baby blue, buttercup yellow, etc and they had none of that. None of the dresses wowed me. The second reason for my 3 star review is the service we received was sporadic. I helped my mom in and out of dresses most of the time. It was very awkward, the 2 ladies working there would come up after she put a dress on and clip it on her, maybe say a thing or 2 about the dress, then just wander away while she was still clipped and zipped in the dress, and for some dresses nobody even came over to help us at all. They emphasize that they are by appointment only, but the store was, in my opinion, over crowded. There was one other woman trying on dresses, and a couple other women came in, one to pick up/try on her dress, and I'm not sure why the other lady was there, at one point she just wandered over to us and was awkwardly making comments about the dresses my mom was trying on. They have 3 dressing rooms but only have 2 mirror set ups in the store, my mom and I were at one mirror and the other woman dress shopping was at the other. At one point my mom had to share a mirror with the woman having a fitting for her dress. Lastly, I feel like the dresses they pulled for us didn't align at all with what we said we wanted. For example, my wedding colors are light pink and silver and the lady pulled a champagne gold dress (which will obviously clash with silver). My mom liked a dress that was on a mannequin but the lady didn't even bother to pull it off the mannequin for her to try it on. My mom specifically said she didn't want any navy, black, or darker colors and that's a lot of what was pulled for her. Then she made a weird comment after my mom tried on a couple dresses that "she didn't try on any of the dresses I pulled yet." My mom said she was just going left to right on the rack so it wasn't personal. Overall the ladies were nice, but I think their style of "helping" is just a bit strange and awkward. I think it would be better if they chose a side and were either with you every step of the way (like my bridal consultant was when I chose my wedding dress) or just completely left you to your own devices instead of awkwardly toeing the line between helping and not helping. As we were leaving the owner said they were the only MOB/MOG dress store in Phoenix and I think that pretty much sums up why they are still in business: they have no competition. Overall, I think there's far better dresses out there than what's carried in this store and the service definitely wasn't anything spectacular. read more

These wonderful woman made a stressful situation turn into an amazing one! I was invited to a gala 3 days before the event. I went dress shopping every night and couldn't find what I was looking for. I purchased a dress just to have one but it was a last resort. On Saturday (day of the gala) I called the store and asked if they could get me in to try on some dresses. They told me there were fully booked for the day but I could come look around and use the sewing room to try on the dresses. I was so thankful at how accommodating they were. Even though they were extremely busy, they still took the time to help pick out dresses for me and zip/unzip me. I found a dress that I loved but it needed to be hemmed and tightened in the back. The seamstress just happened to be there that day and said she would be able to get it back to be in time. I was in shock as it was 2:15pm and I needed it by 4:30pm the latest. She did it! I left to run an errand then went back to pick up my dress. They were all so sweet and told me how great I looked. I'm so thankful they were willing to go above and beyond for me! I had my wedding dress tailored at this place. Not only they did so good with altering a complicated corset, their price was so affordable! The other places I went to asked for at least 200+ more than what I paid here. I couldn't be happier with the result! My dress had 8 layers, extensive lace and a long 10 ft long train. The girls did such a good job here that my dress fits like a glove! First I want to say the only thing good about this place is the dresses for mothers, my moms dress is beautiful and it was a reasonable price. That's the only reason they get a star. As for alterations I definitely would say stay away, specially brides with white dresses! When we picked up my mom's dress The owner talks so highly of the person that she does alterations with so I decided to make an appointment for my(bride) dress. I ended up leaving the alteration appointment very disappointed and upset, first the way she pinned the dress I could not get the just of how my dress is going to look after it was altered, she just pulled the sides and pinned them. Then my mom kept asking her if she wanted me to put my shoes on so she can figure out the hemming, which she then said doesn't need to till we start the actual alterations, keep saying this is just a quote which I understand but still I want to know what to expect/what your work looks like before I commit to having my dress done. Then when she was done she wrote up the quote and left ( and when she left she took dresses with her which made me uncomfortable). Then the big thing that turned me off was half way through the appointment I noticed there was blue on my dress now and when I brought it to her attention she just said oh the floor is dirty but don't worry it will come off with the hem....that's not the point your floors are that dirty that I can't walk 2 feet without it getting dirty, how am I supposed to trust you with my dress. The owner then brought over the quote and told me wow you need a lot done and handed me a business card and told me to get a second opinion and also started to bad mouth another place I was thinking of going and saying they over charge and don't do good work (not good looking for her). When my mom called the next day to tell her about the blue she just brushed it off and said well it would probably be taken off with the hem...still not the point. For a dress I payed so much for that's isn't something you want to find the first time it's taken somewhere. She had previously visited with "Kim" on the phone, and believed that there would be some good options for her to try if she made the trip. Upon arriving at Simply Stunning...she was initially ignored, and then when finally greeted, was ridiculed, belittled and was told "there is nothing here for you here." My friend had a specific, though untraditional, color palette in mind, and the attendant basically told her that "she was not to be the focus" of the event. There was NO effort to understand her wishes, and the "why" behind them. She did not even offer to let her try on any dresses. Just a very mean and unkind woman. Thank you to Kim, owner of Simply Stunning Moms, for the wonderful experience picking out my mother-of-the-bride dress and accommodating me to have alterations done in one afternoon! I drove up from Tucson after finding Kim's shop online. I found a particular designer dress online that I thought I might be interested in but most shops I called in Tucson didn't have that particular dress available to try on. They all said if I ordered it, there would be no returns allowed. When I spoke to Kim, not only did she have that particular dress, but also a large selection of others to try on. Kim was so helpful! She pulled a selection of dresses for me to try in addition to the one I asked about and I found the perfect one (not the one I originally thought I'd like). I drove back up from Tucson when my dress order came in, met with seamstress Emma that Saturday morning, and to make it easier on me so I wouldn't have to travel up a third time to pick up the dress after alterations, Kim arranged for Emma to graciously finish the alterations in a few hours while my husband and I went hiking. Kim, the owner waited on me and she's very good at pulling dresses you describe that you'd like, as well as saying, " just give this one a try." I got a response the very next day and they were so flexible with the day and time to come in for measurements. We went in on a Tuesday for my sons fitting and we received the tux Thursday which was the day before his prom. The owner made us feel like we were priority and had amazing customer service.
