I have been having my clothing altered by Sylvia since 1985. I would never dream of going elsewhere. They are the BEST !!!! She keeps me looking fabulous. I consider Sylvia a dear friend. Sylvia can do magic with even a plain dress. Trust no one else with your clothes. read more

The BEST alteration work I have had done! Designer Jeans: 1. Repaired my favorite AG jeans that I have had for 11 years...a 3"hole worn in the knee AND tear that needed to be hidden-PERFECTLY. 2. Altered a new pair of Hudson jeans-taking 3 inches out of the waste while keeping the true to the lines of the jeans-they fit exactly the way they are supposed to. read more

DON'T GO HERE FOR SIMPLE ALTERATIONS!! call around first Phoenix first; there has to be a cheaper place. Since when did these alterations become so expensive?! I had a pair of pants that I wanted tapered (about $55) and hemmed ($18) and a pair of shorts that needed a new zipper (~$28) For those two items the price was greater than $100! Holy cow! They also make you pay upfront. That's when I should have took my items and left... but I didn't.... major regret. The quality was good but it was simple alterbationand that was way overpriced. Never coming back. read more

INSANELY EXPENSIVE. Honestly, abusive. Had 1 pair of pants hemmed and sleeve length shortened at the wrist on 2 jackets. What is that, a 10 min job on a sewing machine? Not worth $90. read more

I love this place! I ordered a custom gown for my pageant, and the designer did not add the crinoline lining I had for and I had barely over a week to get it altered and in the middle of Christmas/New Year. Silvia got it done on time, and it was perfect! It was also extremely affordable considering how last minute this was. They work magic here, so thankful!! read more

I got a bridesmaids dress altered here. I came in for an appointment, was fitted quickly, and out of there in under 10 minutes. A little disconcerting but I fine. Quality - great quality. The dress fit nicely and when I needed a small fix from picking it up, easy fix and quick to do it. The hook and eye in the zipper came out while I was dancing at the wedding, but I'm assuming that was my fault for over boisterous dance moves. Communication - I got nervous because a week out I hadn't heard from anyone about picking up the dress. They said they'd call back and let me know, and then never did. I had to call back a second time, but then got a set date to come in and get the dress. That was fine because I had some time, but I can only imagine how stressful/annoying that could be if you're busy or a bride. Price - expensive. I paid $210 for the dress and my alterations were $148. The "cups" that I got talked into adding for support were nothing more than padding added w/ 2 stitches to the inside of dress. I could have picked out shoulder pads and added them for the same effect. I will say that I picked up my dress and decided I needed more support in the ladies and called frantically at 8am the next morning to see if they could fit me in to put a couple stitches in the front and was able to get it done that same day. That was impressive. read more

I have been a customer at Danese Creations for over 20 years and I have to say it is the best tailoring and bridal shop in Arizona! The owner, Scylvia Danese and her staff go above and beyond to give you exactly what you want, when you need it. Everything I have had them make or alter is of high quality, and I am always happy to refer people to her. With over 40 years of experience, she can do anything! I have been there when she sews patches on uniforms for our armed forces at no charge as a thank you for serving our country. She is a designer and tailor extraordinaire! read more

Danese Creations is amazing. I came in thinking I would need little to no alterations, then I put my dress on in the fitting room and it was 4x my size!! I was in pure panic mood when Sylvia walked in. She pinned up my dress within 1 minute and it looked beautiful. She put me at ease and made me feel so much better. Not to mention my wedding is one month away. I cannot wait to get my dress back and see all her magic come to life!! read more

Horrible business! I purchesed a lovely silk and a vogue pattern for a mother of the groom dress. I left it with her several weeks in advance. Unfortunately, she did not start work on the dress until the weekend before I needed it. Many horror stories later, I ended up purchasing an outfit the day before the wedding. Scylvia is an awful business woman. In her day,she may have done great work but those days have passed. read more

Danese Creations is simply the best! Scylvia and her team did an amazing job helping my mom, sister and I have the perfect dresses for my sister's wedding! Scylvia took a poorly fitting bridesmaids dress and created a new dress for me that not only fit perfectly but matched all the other bridesmaids. With her help I was so much more comfortable in my dress! Scylvia also helped my mom with alterations on her mother of the bride dress and she looked absolutely stunning! Scylvia also helped my sister with last minute (week of) hemming and bustling of my sister's wedding dress. We were so appreciative of all her hard work! Scylvia and her team are professional, hard working and committed to making you look and feel great in what you are wearing! They truly went above and beyond to get our dresses done in time for the wedding and getting our dresses to fit, and feel just right! We will certainly be back! read more

I had a bridesmaid dress shortened here and the alterations turned out perfect! At first, I was a little shocked at the price but after talking to others, I found that it wasn't the cheapest but also wasn't the most expensive, it was right in the middle! The reason for the 3 stars is that I felt that I was being pushed into services that I didn't need, i.e. bra cups put in the dress (my dress already had some but she said they weren't good enough?) and steaming for a pretty hefty charge. I didn't get either of those. The service wasn't the best as it felt pushy and not warm and fuzzy but hey, I was just getting alterations done, I guess I don't need to be best friends with the employees there? ;) Also, my dress wasn't done when I was promised (And it had been there for almost a month!). Thank goodness I called to check up on it before picking it up! If you leave clothes here and need them for an important date {like a wedding} be sure to call and check up if you're cutting it close with time! read more

The prices here are an absolute joke. I took some Old Navy shorts in for my 10 year old son. He needed them shortened 1 inch as a part of his school uniform. The shorts cost about $15 and the guy comes back and tells me it will be $25 to hem them! I said in a very nice way that I needed to think about that price as it seemed high and even cost more than the shorts themselves. He proceeded to take the pins out very quickly and hand the shorts back to me with a HUGE attitude. I called an old neighbor of mine who is a seamstress out of her home. She gets referrals from Cache, Saks and Escada and she said she does lots of school uniforms. Her price is $10! I DO NOT recommend Danese. You can find a seamstress or someone at a drycleaner for half the price or less. read more

I just walked into Dannese's Creations to pick up several items I left two weeks ago. I was told it was going to be done last Saturday. I never received a phone call so I walked in and this is what happened... I walked and Danese herself said to me " even though I'm a paying customer I'm not as important as her brides are." In addition because she has had several girls out my things have been put on the last thing to do on the list. I'm sorry but I paid over $300 for approximately 3 alterations and some buttons to be changed on a jacket!! I believe that I'm just as important of a customer as her brides are! I am sorry but this IS NOT acceptable for someone who charges so much money to fix such a simple hem. I would not recommend this place for a simple alteration as they don't care unless you are bride!! JUST AWFUL AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION WITH CUSTOMERS!!!!! read more

So shocked that anyone would find Danese Creations to be anything but superb! And why is Yelp putting reviews from 2009 before reviews from 2012. That's shady.... Anyhow, this is the only place I would go to get anything tailored because I can drop it off and not stress for a second that it will be tailored perfectly. Sure, you might save money by finding a friend of a friend who has a neighbor who owns a sewing machine, but if you want tailoring miracles to occur (like the time she turned one of my many awful-fitting bridesmaid dresses into something that looked couture -- trust me, the other bridesmaids gave me the evil eye), then you'll go here. It's the only place I would ever dare take my wedding dress. She has the experience and expertise that I'll gladly pay top dollar for. read more

charged me $85 to patch 3 mini holes on a pair of jeans, and fix a pocket on a pair of shorts. lawyer or mechanic would have done it for less. inexperienced teenage counter girl. asked me what my deadline was, AFTER I paid; should be the other way around, pricing to match. didn't meet deadline and was late, regardless. only went there because I live across the street; won't be back. ever. read more

Sylvia is a miracle worker! Several months ago I brought my wedding dress in to be altered and she did a beautiful job! Then, I had a slight emergency this week when a bridesmaids dress I was supposed to wear wouldn't zip, the day before the wedding! I rushed into the shop at 8 am and she said she would have no problem getting it done the same day. She was finished by the time I left work! The best part is that she didn't overcharge me for the rush service either. Best tailor in town for sure! read more

I was recently married this past October, and I could not have asked for a better, more professional seamstress! Sylvia was a breeze to work with, and was very on top of everything. My wedding dress fit like a dream once she was done with it, and I could not have been happier with the way it came out! She was so genuine and caring, and was very quick in her work. This was the second time I have had Sylvia work on a dress for me (the first time being my senior prom dress that had a good deal of elaborate bead work to work with). I would absolutely recommend Sylvia to any and everyone needing dress work done! read more

I brought a bride's maid dress here over 4 years ago. I'm really petite (I'm 4'11'' and a size 00), so bride's maid dresses are always a pain. For this one, I had to order the smallest size (2), which was HUGE! Danese completely redid my dress and it is now my best-fitting dress. It feels like it was made just for me (which it kind of was)! Danese is a little expensive, but TOTALLY worth the money. They are professional and do amazing work. I just dropped off another bride's maid dress and I'm confident it will turn out great. :) read more

Danese Creations rescued my dress. Twice. My ambitious vision for a gala dress came out frumpy by another tailor, and Scylvia made it classy. My instructions were unclear on one aspect of the dress, which she re-did at no extra charge. THEN, I forgot to pick up my dress in advance from the dry cleaner she had recommended, and was locked out over memorial day weekend just three hours before the gala. I couldnt get the cleaners on the phone so I tried Scylvia hoping she had their contact information. Even though it was completely my fault and at the last minute, AND she was also closed, she promptly called me back saying she had already talked to the cleaners owner and he was on his way to release my dress. So, she rescued my dress twice lol. read more

Awkward "stuck in the 80's" sort of feel but she does a great job and knows what she's doing. She kept talking about how she really wants to retire already -which is sort of unprofessional in my opinion. But you can tell she only speaks her mind so that's alright I guess. I only went in for a hemming and it was done sooner than I thought which was great. And they did a good job at it, too. read more

I started going here five years ago for custom bras. They're not cheap but I look amazing, the fit is great and I was measured several times to get the correct size. Over the years I GI back to get the bras taken in and everyone there is wonderful. I've not needed a formal gown but they're equally lovely and the bead work is amazing. Making another appointment today! read more

One of the best in the city. Great service, impeccable tailoring, and incredibly well priced.

Excellent service and highly professional. Sylvia is not only interesting and kmowledgable, she will advise honestly. She has updated designer pieces of both my husbands and my own. The workmanship at Danese Créations is par excellence. From formal wear to everyday wear I have never experienced anything but perfection with the alterations and designs they have done for me. Scylvia is amazing! I have been a customer for 20 years. I love seeing her on TV as the fairy godmother of fashion. I have referred many friends and everyone has been so happy with her work. Absolutely best place for any alterations! I had taken my favorite pair of pants to another company to have the button replaced because it had ripped through the material and was told that the only way to keep that button without placing a new (completely different button that didn't match) was to hold it in place with a safety pin! I took it to Danese Creations and they reinforced the material and were able to use the original button. It's perfect and looks just as when I purchased them!! They are the best!! read more

If you want fantastic alterations this is the place to go! My experience with Sylvia and her staff was awsome. With one look Sylvia was able to tell if she could alter my to small wedding dress. Not only did she finish my gown in short notice, my dress fit like a glove. She went out of her way to make sure I was satisfied. I strongly recommend any bride to take their wedding gown to Sylvia and her staff if they want it altered right! read more

I drove about an hour plus through Phoenix traffic, in the summer to get there. I was not dissapointed. I had a dress altered, and yes it was pricy, but Yes, it was worth it. You will be hard pressed to find better craftsmanship. The lady that fitted me was very kind and helpful. And yes I did meet Danese, if you don't want her opinon, don't go into her shop. She has little patience for Divas. Her work is second to none and if you want it done right the first time go to her. read more

I came in on a last ditch effort to get my bridesmaid dress altered to fit for a wedding that was 3 days away. (turns out the place I bought the dress from had it taken in a size so it no longer fit- left them a review too) Not only did Sylvia have my dress done on time, she was very accommodating and even offered some tips about the fit of dresses. Definitely recommend! read more

Where do I begin??? I've been using Sylvia Danese and her team at Danese Creations for years! Most of the time, it's with no notice, for some big event I have to be a part of, and some last-minute disaster. Each and every time, Sylvia shakes her head at me, tells me to get better about planning, gives me a hug and manages to pull off an alteration miracle and make things perfect! I love Sylvia. She's tough, loving, like the second mother you need in your life! Thanks for helping me look good as I emcee events around Arizona and show up occasionally on tv! Tara read more

Holy expensive!!! I will never go back! I had a simple pencil work skirt that needed a little hem and to be let out a tiny bit. I guess I should have asked for a quote, because when I got to the register to pay (which is a pre job done btw) it was $65!!! I should have just said thanks, but no thanks, but I was in such shock, I paid it. The two stars are for the fact that the alteration seemed to be done well. Overall, a bad experience. She seemed to not have time for me either. Terrible customer service. read more

Saved me and my dress Forever grateful to the owner for fixing someone else's horrible mess.

I recently got married and took my bridal gown to Danese Creations for alterations. After returning home from dropping off my dress, I was sick about the fact that I had not walked out of there with my dress. The alterations I had required were a hem and minimal taking in of the bust of the dress. The tailor also put on a bustle which consisted of 5 pieces of ribbon to tie the dress up. The cost was $550. This is actually more than I paid for the dress. After the first round of alterations, The bust which was too big, was now way too small, and I was told it could now be taken out only so much. Other parts of the dress had not even been completed. I had been told it was done. The dress was completed another week later. Overall, the dress turned out ok (the top was still very tight and could not be taken out more), but the price tag made me sick. My girlfriend just had similar alterations done elsewhere for $150. I did not feel that I got my money's worth. read more
