The lady who helped me was so kind and she called the owner while I was there to inform her on dresses and cost. I heard the owner, Jade, snapping at her associate on the prices and how much it would cost. They discussed the dresses and agreed to $26 per dress. This was all done while I was there and the associate told me not to worry they were simple alterations and wouldn't take long. I dropped the dresses off February 20th and was promised they would be done by March 4th. March 4th came and I received a call from Jade saying she needed more time and that I could pick them up the 7th. This was frustrating because I was planning my work schedule around these uniform dresses but I was understanding. Then the day before the dresses were due, Jade called at 7pm and left me a message stating I was undercharged and had to pay more. $66 per dress more. It would be one thing if Jade had apologized and contacted me sooner. Instead I waited 2 weeks, was told the hemming would take even longer, and then the day before I'm informed I was undercharged and because of her mistake I had to pay more. The whole thing was unacceptable and a complete waste of my time. Jade should have done her due diligence and realized the mistake and contacted me sooner so I could've taken those dresses elsewhere. I was never offered a solution let alone an apology. This experience has made it clear that I will not be returning or referring this business to friends or coworkers. Very disappointing first impression.

For context -- I have been coming to this location for over 10 years under the previous ownership. In that time, I had at least 10 suits tailored there without a single issue. I kept coming back because the work was good and the service was professional. That is no longer the case. I brought in four suits on January 24th for alterations -- a simple taper on the slacks and button adjustments on the jackets. Two months later, when I came to pick them up, only one suit had been done correctly. Two were so poorly altered that I had to take them to a second tailor to have them fixed, and the fourth suit was never touched at all -- in two months. When I arrived to pick up my suits, I was calm, polite, and simply asked for my items. Instead of handing them over, she refused to let me leave and proceeded to argue about how none of the issues were her fault -- taking the pants off the hanger in the middle of the shop to explain her position. I had to ask multiple times just to get my own property back. The communication throughout this process was also unprofessional, including text messages to my wife that were disrespectful and completely uncalled for. At the end of it all, we paid $300 and walked away with one wearable suit out of four, plus additional costs to have two others corrected elsewhere. She would not acknowledge any responsibility for the outcome -- not for failing to assess the fabric upfront, not for ignoring the sample we left on day one, and not for the finished quality. After more than a decade of loyalty to this location, we will never return. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. There are talented, professional tailors in this area -- this is not one of them.

I was given a referral from Colby Bridal, and I have since asked that she be removed from their recommendation list given the outcome of my experience. Alisa persuaded me not to return my MOB dress for a smaller size, promising it would be flawlessly tailored within three weeks. Instead, she quickly pivoted and altered it incorrectly. At my first fitting, just a week in, she said "Donna Karan doesn't make them like she used to," which signaled early on that she either lacked the skill or the willingness to execute the work properly. At that point, it was obvious the dress was not going to be handled with the level of care or expertise promised, and I should have taken it elsewhere immediately, except I had to pay $340 in full upfront. As my daughter's out-of-state wedding approached, the dress remained unfinished; I even paid $80 for pressing, which was never done. On pickup--two days before leaving--it was incomplete, unpressed, and I was told she was "so sick of working on such a shitty designed dress" and that her iron "couldn't handle it." After one last day, I returned to find it still unfinished, with a damaged zipper that made it unwearable. With less than 24 hours before traveling, I had to franticly find another seamstress out of state to fix everything properly the week before the wedding. What should have cost about $300 ended up exceeding $700, including a tip for the women who saved the day. Having to have more fittings and not receiving a wearable dress until the night before created an enormous amount of avoidable stress leading up to the wedding. The professionalism and skill level of the NEW seamstress to fix Alisa's mistakes including replacing the zipper Alisa ripped and ruined and taking it in on the sides; as it should have been done, in such a short amount of time was remarkable! This reflects a clear lack of professionalism, experience and skill level on Alisa's part. Sadly, she overpromised, poorly executed, and ultimately returned an unusable garment. Based on the pattern in responses to other negative reviews on google, I fully expect this to be deflected rather than acknowledged--but the outcome here speaks for itself.

I appreciated that she recommended a second fitting, after she had completed the alterations to the body of the dress and before she did the hemming (since the hem had previously been butchered with scissors!) The finished result was pure perfection and incredibly less expensive. For those that are hesitant about a seamstress working out of her home, you could choose to visit a shop, but keep in mind the inflated cost due to her overhead. I encourage anyone who need formalwear altered to look no further than this talented, attention to detail, kind and professional woman. I drove 75 miles one way and Zohreh will continue to be go to for any future alterations!

I brought it in on Thursday and she was very nice and said she would try and get it done for me. I asked her how much $$$ and she wouldn't say (uhooo). I came in Friday night at 6:30pm (she closes at 7) and it was all done and done perfectly. I was nervous about the price, so I asked her how much and when she told me, I felt like I had flown back in a time machine to the 1970's. I won't say exactly what she asked for, but it was so reasonable I paid her double and walked out with a smile. Yes, I paid her double ... it was worth it vs. anyone else. I am not a person that always gives good reviews. I will give a ONE star quicker than I will give a 5 star ... and Scottsdale is hit and miss with quality, but AJ's is amazing.
