My mom has been quilting for about the past 30 years and her Bernina machine is excellent. It is due for some service so we went there to drop it off for service and looked around at all their quilting supplies. They have an excellent selection of material for quilting lots of really nice stuff. I highly recommend. read more

I just had a pretty disappointing experience with Bernina connection. I had brought in my Bernette b77 for servicing and firmware updating. I had brought it in on Saturday and then Monday night they let me know it was done! Great. When I had dropped it off on Saturday, I had specifically asked about the firmware updating and they said yeah our technician does that on all the machines that he works on, but we'll put a note in there. I go to pick it up today and I asked about the firmware update and the person at the counter went back to ask the technician if he was able to do a firmware update and she came back and told me that they don't know when Bernette's firmware needs updating because they don't tell them. OK fair enough. I had told her that I know the firmware was out of date and she says well you can just ask the technician that. I go back and ask the technician about the firmware update for my machine and he tells me, you should just be able to go to the website and download it and put it on the machine yourself. Well, one little problem with that is that my machine does not have a port for a hard drive. So he goes and looks on the website and basically quickly gives up and says well you just have to contact them. I go onto the website and they say to take it to your dealer/repair shop for them to update your firmware. I know I don't have the fanciest machine. I don't know if that plays into the kind of service I received, but I do know it's pretty disappointing to spend $120 on a service when something that I had specifically asked for and something on the Bernette website was available at my repair shop was not done and I was basically told to figure it out myself. I should also mention that in one of my sewing groups they specifically said they could do this update. I also don't know if they were just saying that to get me in the door because it's business for them but I feel pretty disappointed. Definitely won't be going back. Update: The owner reached out to me, explained the confusion on the technicians part. She was very nice and offered me a fairly generous coupon for my troubles and said when they receive in the part needed to upgrade the machine, I am welcome back. read more

I walked in the other day to buy a sewing machine. The store is very nicely laid out and organizing. Lots of well-displayed products I would have enjoyed browsing if I had been made to feel more comfortable. There were two employees working and did not greet me when I walked in. This wasn't a big deal at first, they were assisting another customer. However I was in the store for 15 minutes standing by the machines with no one offering any acknowledgement or assistance. I finally stood in line while they continued to assist their other customer or return to stocking product. Other customers came in during this time and got acknowledged. It just started to run me the wrong way and made me feel unwelcome. Bernina 's are expensive machines, and an investment. I didn't feel this store cared if I bought it from them, so I left and went to another store and got myself a machine. I will try them again, but if the experience is similar then I'll take the hint and understand I guess I'm not welcome here. read more

I have has several excellent experiences at this store. The sales people are very knowledgeable and the selection of fabrics and high quality sewing machines is impressive. Most recently I was in need of some felt. I could only find thin low quality felt at other stores. I have learned a lot a made big strides since I have taken classes there. I find the Staff are really helpful and give expert advice on making projects and taking care of sewing machines. I love the Bernina Connection owners and staff. They are knowledgeable and helpful and treat you like family. I have been staying home due to concerns about Covid but really needed to purchase a new container of oil for my Bernina sewing machine as I have been giving it quite a workout during the pandemic. I was very happy today...first, the door is kept locked and only a few customers are allowed in at a time. Masks are required. Then as you enter you are given hand sanitizer (optionally you can wash you hands in the rest room), and counters and surfaces are being wiped down and sanitized. It was lovely to see old friends and new inventory, and reassuring to know that I can shop safely. Kudos to Val and staff! read more

I'll admit I'm not opposed to alerting the public about a business that provides poor quality products or customer service. I have done so on a few occasions. But all to often many of us forget to mention a business that has outstanding products or customer service. It's easy to just be happy and grateful for a good experience and just go about our lives. The owner, managers/employees at the Bernina Connection go way beyond what is considered satisfactory service. They truly amaze me how willing they are to go that extra mile to assist their customers. Just before Christmas both my sewing machine and my BSR decided to go on the fritz! I dropped them off at the Bernina Connections to be serviced and lamented that I had only 15 minutes of free motion quilting left on my quilt collage and had wanted to give it as a gift for Christmas. I knew the repairs would not be done in time. The manager simply said "bring your project in and finish it here on one of our machines." WOW! How nice. I was able to give my gift after all. The BSR which has a cost of about $3k had to be sent in to the company. Again going above and beyond, they offered me a loaner BSR to use until my BSR was repaired and returned. No deposit, no requirements to sign anything. Just "here take this and use it until yours is returned." Again, WOW! When my BSR was repaired they called and told me it was ready and I drove the 50 minutes to pick it up. A bit of a mixup resulted in me not receiving the repaired BSR. So I headed home with the loaner again. They figured out the mixup and an employee called me that night and said she lived close to me and would deliver my BSR that night so I didn't have to drive all the way back to the shop. Again, (I know repetitive, right? ) WOW!!! Bernina is a quality product so it's easy to stand behind the brand. But customer service is unique to each store and it's affiliates. All I can say is Thank you Thank you Thank you to all the wonderful employees and managers who genually care about their customers. My machine is once again humming and my BSR is singing! And I'm one happy customer! read more

I heard very good things about this place from a few people. After my horrific experience at another sewing machine place. I was ready to give up, but decided to take it to one more place. When I took my machine there I was already impressed by their computer system and the way they label each part to make sure it belongs to the right owner. The other place I took my machine for 2 years, never had me in their system and never remembered the countless times I spent money in their store. I was really surprised that in 2 days a service tech had looked at my machine for a diagnosis, the other store didn't even get to looking at my machine until 2 and half weeks later to tell me something was even wrong with my machine. Unfortunately, my sewing machine is a Viking and it need some new parts that can only be sold and distributed by Viking dealers. But the service tech did tune up, adjust the tension, and let me know exactly what needed to be replaced in terms I can understand and not part numbers and techie vocabulary like the other store. The tech even got it to sew better, although I am still waiting for things to get replaced, at least they were able to give back my machine after 3 days in a working condition that I can still sew light weighted gowns and use my industrial Juki for the rest. Overall, their customer service is excellent and their staff knowledgeable and friendly. I may be switching my brand loyalty from Viking to Bernina very soon. That and when I worked at Hancock Fabrics when I was 16, my boss ranted and raved about her Bernina. read more

I was recently given a Bernina embroidery machine. While using it, an error message popped up. I called the store and they tried to help me over the phone. We couldn't figure it out over the phone so I took it into the store. When I walked in, they greeted me immediately. Their main tech guy came out and took a look. He helped me figure out the problem and wouldn't let me leave until he was sure it was working. I was there an hour and a half. When it was fixed, he said no charge! I couldn't believe it. The ladies working the floor and register were incredibly friendly! I had never been to this store but I will definitely be back! I am also bringing my more people with me! They will definitely be getting more of my business. *the above was from a few months ago but didn't post due to a user error. I have since been back and fell in love even more. This time I had my two daughters (ages 4 and 1) with me. I hate to say it by many quilt store employees can be rather grumpy and don't have patience for children. The employees here were so welcoming! We walked in and they lead us to a basket of toys just for kids. Every one of them came to talk to the girls or play with them for a minute. Not what I was expecting. I just love this place! read more

Knowledgable. Friendly. Well organized (amazing amount of merchandise in a relatively small space). Generously sized classroom where there always seems to be something going on. There is definitely a sense of "community" about this place from both the staff and the customers within. Most of my business with them has been with their repair shop, I have taken several vintage machines there of various brands and they have enthusiastically welcomed the challenge of servicing them, replacing missing parts and getting the old work horses running smoothly. I can't say enough about the quality of their repair services! Interesting novelty quilting fabrics for those who are looking for something special. read more

okay so i'm totally biased, but i love this store. what really makes it so great? the ladies that work there. :) they are just so pleasant...and you know i've spent too much time there because they all know me by name. it's horrible! i use to frequent the store so often on tuesday evenings that they almost expected to see me!! my mom purchased my bernina machine from here back in 2005 as a wedding present and i've been going back for supplies and fabric ever since. it's a small store, but their selection of fabrics is really good. they always have new stuff in and they are all so helpful and friendly. i've taken a handful of classes too and i've had so much fun. the store just carries high quality items and the staff is very knowledgeable of the products. read more

This was a great stop. I'm normally shopping for traditional quilt fabrics, of which they have a great selection of modern leaning fabrics including Art Gallery, Kaffe Fasset, Alexander Henry and others. However I was directed to them because they carry high quality knits in store which was fantastic because I can never seem to find them in store. They also had a good selection of double guaze and some other clothing fabrics. They are definitely a quilt store but they definitely have something for the sewer who does more than that as well. It's their Anniversary again, and I just had a blast checking out all the sale fabric, looking at all the great bargains to be had! This only happens once a year so don't miss it. Excellent selection, lots of bright and cheery quilting fabrics, plus unique patterns, trims, thread, and a nice inventory of Bernina sewing machines. Don't bother coming to this store if you have a job and work and drive all the way down to the store and get there on time before they close. This store only caters to quilters who can come from 10-4. Even though their store hours posted say 10-6 and the parking lot signs say 10-8. Really it's actually 10-4. NOT HAPPY!!! read more

The shop is a fine example of a retail outlet for sewing machines. It is well illuminated and has informed sales persons. After discussing my sewing and quilting needs I decided upon a Bernina model. I was given a price and decided to shop around with other Bernina Dealers. I did just that and found that the exact new machine could be purchased new for $700 less. I spoke with the owner about the price differential and she responded in a tart and non accommodating manner. The Bernina Connection is in my neighborhood and it is where I would prefer to purchase however, with such a great price differential and with poor owner communication skills I chose to purchase elsewhere. read more

The store while small is quite lovely. The staff, specifically Ann who helped me was delightful. We intended to buy a Bernina 590E as a Christmas gift this year and perhaps an overlock machine as well along with at least 1 or 2k worth of accessories. Of course we did not want to pay full price so my husband spoke with one of the owner's Val (?) who quoted him $6700.00 plus tax - a price which was surprisingly several hundred dollars more than Ann quoted us. Upon hearing the higher quote, it seemed to me that Val didn't really want to make a sale so we decided to explore the market further. After doing our homework, we wound up buying the aforementioned brand new Bernina 590E elsewhere for $5999.00. read more

I went to this shop yesterday for the first time to drop off a vintage 1979 Husqvarna Viking 6000 series sewing machine I want restored, or as the sewing technician said, brought back from the dead. Larry, the technician's eyes lit up with glee when he caught glimpse of the aging beauty...the machine, not me. Apparently he learned his trade on this machine and I believe it because he knew everything about it. Though I told him I'm in no rush whatsoever to get it back (other than I'm excited to use it when it is reborn) I am writing this review prior to getting the machine back because my experience of going to this shop was magical. On par with a child walking into a high end candy shoppe. Once Larry was done giving me my Husqvarna history lesson (which I thoroughly enjoyed) Jessica, the sales clerk taught me all about the modern age of computerized sewing machines. I'll admit, though the technology doesn't scare me, the price tags on these modern marvels make my eyes pop out of my head. Jessica was a thoroughly knowledgeable and friendly modern day sewing machine goddess. She answered all my questions, walked me through the extensive course offerings that the shop offers and even made sure to tell me when their next big promotion and sale was happening. This shop has a wonderful business model that allows patrons to take classes using the shop machines so that you can try before you buy. What's more, they will apply the class fees you paid towards the purchase of a machine in their shop! Brilliant! The shop is beautifully laid out, clean and modern and comfortable. I'm excited to start taking classes there. Here's to the start of a long and beautiful relationship. read more

The service we have gotten at the Bernina Connection has been remarkable. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I came in to buy an inexpensive used machine and I was treated just as if I were in the market for a top-of-the-line one. I had a problem with the machine I bought and Larry, the in-store repairman, went out of his way to track down the the source of the trouble and repair it. He even called me personally to explain what he did. "We want your machine to work perfectly," he said. I would recommend this store to anyone. read more

My wife and I returned again late on a Monday afternoon and found the shop remodeled leaving her with a better experience than a couple of Springs ago. The remodel provided an updated look but possibly less fabric than pre-model. The samples were not well displayed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The remodel now has a restroom. read more

I stopped in this store today to check out the latest Amy Butler fabrics. I left feeling inspired and excited about sewing. They offer classes for an affordable price.
