Hands-down, they have the greatest selection of spandex and Lycra fabrics. They're beaded laces and special occasion. Fabrics are also stunning. If you see something you like, it's best to buy it all because it may not come back. I have never gone in and not found what I wanted or needed for my projects. Sometimes I just enjoy wandering for an hour over lunch to see what's new and say hi to the staff. I wish they stayed open later on Saturdays and maybe had limited hours on Sundays because now that Joannes has closed, it's hard to grab things in a pinch. But I'll take what I can get because I really love shopping there. The value is absolutely incredible for the quality of some of these performance fabrics that you will pay 2 to 3 times more for online and even more than that with shipping.

Later, she tried to put the blame on me for not providing every single detail up front. She insulted the sundress I was wearing, treated us like we were wasting her time, and then quoted me twice the price for the same style of dress I later purchased at Brilliant Bridal North Phoenix. Whether she was intimidated by my friend's design background or simply had somewhere else to be, the message was clear: our business wasn't valued. Warning: The staff may sound warm and convincing over the phone, but the in-person reality is very different. Expect the ambience of a 1980s time capsule--fun only if you're nostalgic for that decade. The glowing reviews here are either wildly generous... or bought and paid for. I luckily got put with this hip, smart, younger girl, Kate, who "got" me and my style within moments of our first meeting. She put together coordinating fabrics for my whole house. I know how difficult this is to do because I've been trying to do it myself for years, and she did it within 30 min. I loved what she picked out, I couldn't have done it better myself. I ended up ordering 2 chairs for my great room with coordinating throw pillows, an upholstered bench for my master bedroom, and plan to order dining room chairs later this week. I have looked at virtually every fabric store and furniture store, and they hands down have the best selection of fabrics. And it's so nice to be able to custom order it! I even cross checked their price with another furniture company, using the same exact chairs, to see if it was high, and it was exactly the same price! Why wouldn't you want to just get exactly what you want if you're paying the same for it anyway? In the future, I plan on ordering a window seat cushion with coordinating pillows, and draperies for a few of my rooms. I have all the fabric picked out, just waiting for the right time. I've been extremely happy with this gem of a place so far, and am so excited to see all the new fabrics in my house!

I also went to a few warehouse style stores, but the selection was not great and the special order fabrics turned out to be unavialable. Calico Fabrics is a bit on the high side but the selection is excellent and I was able to score the perfect fabric on sale. The fabric is a plaid Ikat with rich greens, browns, cream and a touch of black. My fabricator made gorgeous upholstered cornice boards, a drapery panel to frame the sliding glass door and bonus--a Roman Shade for my office. Shout out to Gayle, who helped me at Calico. As I was browsing through the sections, I noticed a v long line for cutting (about 12 people) and 4 staff working the cutting counter. I found a piece of cut fabric which I really liked but couldn't tell how much it cost. The price signs were inconsistent. There was no help on the floor. I made my way through the line to pay and told the cashier i didn't know how much it was but I wanted the whole thing. I told her I had a tape measure and was told I would have to go wait into the line for cutting to have it measured. The young woman had a whole lot of condescension in her tone and zero amount of helpfulness. It was my first time there and I was embarrassed by the staff with their attitude in front of the long line of customers waiting behind me. I actually heard some laughter. They said it would take 2 weeks to do, and they called 12 days later when it was ready for pickup. Very pleasant people to work with. I would definitely recommend this place. One thing I would recommend to someone just replacing a small section(cushion, arm rest, etc), of leather on an old sectional or couch, is take your time picking out that new leather color. I rushed it just a bit, and wanted to match the original leather color, not the color of the worn areas. So, just take your time balancing out what color you want to match. Once again, these guys did a perfect job replacing the affected area with the leather of my choosing.

We were able to select our fragrances and colors for our soap and I loved that we had a little pumpkin mold tray for the upcoming Halloween season.
