I like sushi a lot! Thankfully that there was a place in the Tri-cities that was above decent. The service was very accommodating. I went alone so I sat at the bar. Once I was ready I sat my menu down and the chef behind the bar was very observant to see that I was ready to order. I had the small shashimi combo and gave me the option to have all tuna! Score!! I asked for a Tobiko and instead of charging me for a plate of Nigiri Tobiko.... He gave me a small side in which to dip my California roll in! Ha Double Score!! I love their style of Sunomono, good miso, and above average cold sake for cheap! I made out of there for around $40 with a 15%+ tip!!! Place is tiny, we got there around 6:15ish on a Wednesday and the place was packed (usually a good sign right?!) we waited for about 10 min before being seated. Took a while to get our drinks in and order our meals. Place was definitely understaffed (maybe someone was home sick this night) but there was prob 2 waiters doing a great job with the whole place. Yeah it took awhile to get our food etc. but they were professional and super nice. Sushi was yummy and came out first, more than halfway through our sushi our beef yaki soba noddles came. Small portion for a dinner plate and it was okay. Plenty of meat and lots of seasoning, but the taste was a bit off for me. Let's just say I had better Yaki Soba noddles. We had a bad experience so we tried all the other sushi places in Tri-Cities. Sushiya is by far the best. We would leave other places thinking it was good, but it wasn't Sushiya good. My husband and I have heard great things about this place and decided to try it together tonight. I knew I wanted a rainbow roll and he wanted their Crunchy Dragon roll. We wanted to pick a third roll to share, but couldn't decide, so we asked our waitress for help. She recommended the Samurai roll. It did not disappoint! The sushi is probably the best and freshest here. It's not amazing, but we will take what we can get. The service is so lacking. It seems like they are chronically understaffed. There are usually one to two waitresses on a Friday or Saturday night. Usually when we walk in, we wait at the front entrance for a few minutes before anyone even realizes we're there. Once we sit, it's usually another 10 minutes or so before getting waters or ordering. We got sake last night and the actual sake bottle materialized quickly. The cups, however, took another 15 minutes and we had to remind the waitress again for them. My husband and I were contemplating either guzzling directly from the bottle or using the sake bottle cap as our cup. Yikes. The food, after ordering, took about a half an hour to come. And we felt terrible for two families with small kids next to us who hadn't even ordered and were obviously ready and waiting (menus closed, staring around). read more

This place feels like it was taken from Seattle or Portland and placed in a strip mall in Kennewick. They have an awesome variety of rolls and very fresh sushi. The other items on the menu definitely can not be neglected they have a few delicious pork and chicken dishes. The service has been great each of my visits. We ordered over the phone for take-out, and when we got there to pick up our food, we found out whoever had taken our order never sent it to the kitchen.
