After just moving to Elmhurst, we have tried all 3 sushi restaurants in the downtown area. A few Friday's ago we tried to have dinner at Sushi Time, but sat at the table un-greeted for 10 minutes. It goes without saying we did not eat there that night. At the urging of a local business owner, we tried Sushi Time again tonight. We decided to take out the tri-color sashimi and a few rolls. Right off the bat the order was wrong, with the tri-color "sashimi" coming on top of a MOUND of super dense rice. In fact, all of the rice was wet and dense. Big does NOT equal better. The miso soup was very bland, as was the rest of the food. Several pieces of the fish had odd taste or texture. Needless to say, half of the "meal" ended up in the trash. There is no way we would ever visit this restaurant again. Save yourself the suffering and visit Sushi Nest instead. (Which for the record, was delightful). I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

Amazing quality, fresh fish. Server had a hard time breaking up the checks into 3 tabs for whatever reason but the fish is all that matters.

Went there for lunch and ordered the poke bowl, assuming it was on the lunch menu as it was advertised on the sign outside the store....When I got the bill, they charged $21.00 for a sub par poke bowl!!!!!!! ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!!!!!! And on top of that, there were flies in the restaurant- gross!! will NEVER go back there again. Love this place when I need to grab a quick lunch right before work. Their lunch deals are great, which I usually get two rolls and a miso soup for $11 and it's ready in 10 min! Let me just say that I am very particular with sushi. That being said, the flavors here are solid, and pretty tasty. My gripes have to do with composition and attention to detail. Any good sushi restaurant has the basics down pat, and one of the core components is sushi rice. Sushi rice should be seasoned with rice vinegar and sugar, and be SHORT GRAIN. Sushi Time's rice, while seasoned decently, albeit lightly, was medium/long grain, the same as you would find as a complement to any Chinese takeout dish. This oversight displays laziness, and leads to rolls that fall apart and lose an element of their texture. Also, my order was lukewarm, and there was a surprising amount of fishiness associated with the soft shell crab. This is very disturbing because the soft shell crab was tempura battered and fried. No fishiness should have been detectable. read more

Since we moved to Elmhurst, we've been clamoring to find a legit sushi spot in town. All the ones we've tried in and nearby Elmhurst were just ok compared to the great restaurants downtown. Ok, more like 4.5, but since I live in town, I'll give a rounding to 5. Outside of they don't have a liquor license yet, this could be a 5 star. Sushi quality and fish are awesome...best I've had in suburbs and pieces are huge. My wife and I ordered 4 rolls and we only ate 2.5 rolls. Stuffed after that. The first time I was here I didnt really have a great meal. The NEXT time around? Everything was perfect! The rice was seasoned well and had great texture. The fish was at the perfect temperature. And it was all prepared exquisitely. The service was great and the staff was down to Earth and fun! The seaweed salad was one of the best I've had and the portion was larger than most! First off incredibly easy to order through the app which I appreciate. Ordered carry out but the inside looked like a nice place to sit and have a nice meal. Crab Rangoon is really great. spring rolls are very good too. I have a simple palate when it comes to sushi so we ordered the California roll, Boston roll and salmon skin roll. Cali roll and Boston rolls were excellent. I didn't give 5 stars because the salmon roll was disappointing. It was really dry and bland. Other than that everything was good. Prices were a tad high but not over the top for sushi. We got all of the food for about $25 which was enough to feed 2 moderately hungry people. I'll probably try it again if I'm in the mood for sushi. The menu also had a large selection of premium rolls which I am sure a "sushi snob" would appreciate ;). Thanks sushi time! read more

my husband and I dine here (with or without the kids) at least two times a month. Mike, the owner, is one of the nicest men on the planet. He has some of the best sushi chefs in the area I think! I've dined on a lot of sushi over there years - from the big names to the small unknown places and you just cannot beat the quality of Sushi Time. They also have a broader menu for the little ones palates. Their Godzilla and rock 'n' roll is amazing, the sashimi is super fresh and they have an appetizer call the dragon egg that I am absolutely addicted to!!! The service can be somewhat spotty but it's not a big place and we tend to linger (unfortunately for the staff too). Their take out is spot on. It's a go-to in our neighborhood for sure! read more

Delivery was 30 minutes late from the time requested hours in advance and didn't follow directions on where to go at the hotel. The sushi was transported with the hot food and was quite warm. This is actually my FIRST yelp review, and I don't want other customers to be misled by the amount of stars I am giving this fantastic restaurant. The food quality is AMAZING don't get me wrong, but there are some things I can pick at about my server. I came in here the other afternoon for lunch. This restaurant is nice and has a very comfortable atmosphere. The sushi quality is amazing, not too much rice, and just about the right amount of sauces and garnishes. I've read the other reviews on this place and I haven't seen any negative ones so far. I apologize in advance if any offense is taken by reading this. The other customers in the restaurant seemed to have attentive servers and seemed satisfied with their lunches, while my server was not so attentive and a bit clumsy. I didn't ask what his name was, but he was a white male. He was ungraceful while serving our food, I had to ask for water refills multiple times before I got a SECOND glass of water. There were no napkins on the table and we were never checked on. Never checked on, meaning he was never on the floor or around so I had to ask the other male server for assistance, which by the way was a sweet heart about it and apologized on his behalf. Please, if you have a fine food establishment and you are a 5/5 star restaurant for the food, please have a 5/5 service to match the reviews. Thank you! We were looking for new sushi spot close to home and had heard about this new place. I really enjoyed the sushi itself. Portions were a good side. We order two specialty rolls and then two of the regular rolls and it was more then enough and very good. Food was fresh also. We did not wait too long for food either. Only problem I had with this place was that the Coke that we ordered was flat. Super flat. It was served from a pitcher I later realized and that was a horrible idea. I didn't complaint cause I didn't was to be that picky customer. I was hoping that with a refill it would be corrected but no it wasn't. Also refill are not free. I ordered from Sushi Time because of the great reviews and because they deliver. I did not actually have any sushi. But, I did order the edamame, vegetable tempura entree, tofu teriyaki and vegetable fried rice and I tried a little of each. The edamame was good. I started running into trouble with the rest of the food when I opened the tempura. Instead of the vegetable tempura entree I got the shrimp tempura. Some people might be happy with this, but I won't eat the shrimp. I really wanted the vegetables. The vegetables I got were ok. The tofu teriyaki was plain and had teriyaki sauce on it. The vegetables were in a garlic sauce that did not go with the teriyaki sauce at all. I could only eat a couple of pieces of the tofu. The sauce on it was kind of thick and congealed and the tofu had an odd taste. I couldn't eat the vegetables because of the extreme garlic taste. The vegetable fried rice was good. I was charged for extra white rice when I did not order it. Apparently the girl who took my order was new, and she was very apologetic when I called. But with the taste of the food, the inability of the person who took my order to answer questions I asked, and the mistakes in the order, I would not come here again. read more

I order take it from here about once a month. I can say I've never been disappointed. My favorite is the Rock N Roll, roll. I've also tried many others from their specialty roll list and liked them all. Be sure to try the one with mango, very refreshing. Oh, and their crab Rangoon is spot on. Placed on order online at Sush Time and had even gotten a comfirmation email from them that stated the food would be delivered by 6:15pm, order was placed at 5:15pm. Currently 7:10pm and nothing. My wife had contacted them and they stated that first they found the order, then they kept asking for the address, then they claimed they can't find it. When asked to speak to their manager they had hung up. I had check my bank account and saw that the money was removed for 64.46. Tried contacting them back 3 times and they did not answer. Contacted them with another phone and they had answered. Asked for their manager who now claims they had found the order after I had read the charge they had placed on my debit card. All the manager claimed is that we are really busy but would not explain why they kept losing the order. When asked when the food would be delivered his response was I don't know. This had gotten me upset because they had charged my card and didn't even deliver the food. Then the manager had claimed to lose the order again, then find it, then lose it again. The manager did not seem to care at all and then proceeded to inform me that their site https://restadmin.imenu360.com/newui/SushiTime#X is supposedly not working. When I had asked him that you just said you found my order he said yes I have it. Then he had hung up on me after acknowleding that they charged my card. Tried contact them back at 630-279-3388 and they would not answer. Contact my bank to find out that they had charged me at 5:18pm and again at 6:56pm. This resturant is very shady and I just want my money back. Already filed a complant with BBB and contacted my bank to despute the charges against my card. Shame you can't give 0 stars. read more

Sushi Time is a nice little place right in downtown Elmhurst. I went there for lunch and got the pick 3 Sushi lunch special and it was very reasonably priced. The sushi was fresh and the rolls were of a good size. The management was also extremely nice and I will definitely go back. Highly recommend! read more

My coworker and I just ordered from here. He had the Governors chicken, I had the sweet potato roll and the avocado roll. Everything was fresh and very delicious.
