I love being surprised by these otherwise looked over restaurants. I don't know why it's rated so low. The ambiance was like your regular local restaurant. Even though I was the only one dining in, there were many pickup orders. The staff was so so friendly and welcoming. They even helped me pick the Chef special on the sushi menu (plus each roll was so big I wasn't able to finish it). It was sooooo good. 10/10 would not only go again, but take my people here too. However one thing to consider: the prices are $3 more expensive on UberEats.

I ordered the Udon soup, it had no mushrooms, no asparagus and no flavor. I paid with $100 they had no change , no problem I did Apple Pay...I was charged the wrong amount ‍, I paid the difference in cash...the owner ( I think) was micromanaging the young lady that was working ( which I'm sure made her uncomfortable) You did a great job young lady even though they were yelling at you, thank you for being so nice and helpful. I haven't been here since they opened but was sick and wanted soup...next time I'll go with my first mind. Do better and treat your staff better. Was it worth $20 not in the least bit

Generous sashimi slices and very fresh. My kids loved the crab rangoons and the pad thai.

We have come here so often, that my mom and uncles seem to know our servers. They really take care of us. And then mom likes to give an extra tip to whomever is really hustling. Service has always been top notch - even without the extra tip. Typically, we are split between two tables. After we mix and mingle and say our hellos, everyone sits down for some serious business - picking out our dim sum dishes. We all have our favorites - dumplings, buns (siaopao) filled with meat or custard, egg rolls, noodles, etc. There is something for everyone. Well, not sure about gluten free stuff... The tables sit about 10 and there is a "Lazy Susan" (turntable thing) in the middle for easier distribution of food. We love it and even use it for the obligatory family video (just set your phone to record and slowly turn the Lazy Susan). lol Overall, we are happy customers and will keep bringing our big Filipino family back here!

It took about 20 mins for the fried rice to be served, waited another 10 mins for the beef mongolian to be served (it was cold), the dimsums were not served at all. It's been an hour almost. I followed up the dimsum with the server and he arrogantly replied to me that the kitchen is making them. I said "we waited long enough, we will just pay what we ate." He was pissed and so arrogant. We are disappointed with the service. No good customer service. People come back not just for food but also for good service.

We have yet to dine in but we've ordered take-out several times and on different days of the week. Almost every time I stop by, there are several Chinese dining in. Secondly, they have two sets of menus, one consists of Americanized Chinese food such as almond ding, chop suey, and egg food young and the other consists of typical Cantonese options such as walnut shrimp, salt and spicy squid, beef stew casserole, and clams in black bean sauce. We usually stick with the Cantonese menu and have tried a variety. The only item that we are indifferent to is the pork chop Peking style. Otherwise we have enjoyed everything else and there are several items that we would reorder. Chinese Kitchen is a physically unassuming, from its obscure location to its dated décor to its generic name. However, what it lacks in appearance is definitely made up for in its dishes.

There are a variety of dishes to choose from 4 different vendors on the first floor. I enjoy coming here every so often to treat myself and my family to authentic dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, particularly stinky tofu, ba wan (Taiwanese meatball), oyster omelet, and pig blood soup. It is a food court. You are expected to return the tray and empty dishes back to designated areas. Although not required, I've never seen anyone do otherwise. The bathrooms are small and could use additional lighting in my opinion. Parking, you asked? Yes, there is a large parking lot. It is easily accessed from Route 83 (Kingery Hwy) or Ogden Avenue. On this particular visit, 988 Oriental Food House was closed. Reopening date is May 30, 2023.

It has definitely seen better days: still open but very empty (of customers, of vendors, of products). It's a decent size food court, but many of the stalls were closed. Chinese Cafe was open, and became a bit busier after us. Most of the customers were non-Asian, but have read that the food court becomes quite busy with ethnic Chinese during the weekend. I was greeted in Cantonese, and even when I responded back in English, our conversation continued in that way. It ended up being fruitful, with an initial order of two lunch plates. I later came back to order a soup from the neighboring dumpling house, both being served by the same front of house. L13. Double cooked pork. L14. Mongolian Beef. ($9.25 each). Comes with choice of fried rice or white rice, egg roll, and can of soda (Coke Zero in our case). The high heat wok cooking really makes a big difference, with the smokiness in both the meats and vegetables that I really love. Can't get that at Panda Express. All the vegetables were sliced/diced with care: really loved the sliced onion in the mongolian beef, actually more than the beef itself. And the sliced pork loin was the perfect amount, with a really fragrant brown sauce that my wife enjoyed. Beef Noodle Soup ($11.95) - a good dish, with a large amount of springy noodles in a decent dark broth. It had plenty of large beef shank chunks, decently tender. It's a good rendition of beef noodle soup, especially at this price. You self bus (which is fine if only disposable items, but not so good when having to return soup bowls that stack up due to not being cleared). The food court definitely has symptoms of being not busy: not clean bathrooms and tables, and a general malaise of nobody really 'caring'. But we found the food to be good and of great value.
