I love their sushi! I'm very picky with sushi but everything I've had here is amazing. Definitely a place to eat when craving sushi!

Best sushi in Elmhurst, if not all Chicagoland! So fresh and clean! You can really taste the freshness of the fish here. They don't have to hide poor quality or the wrong kind of fish with overpowering sauces. I have been coming here since it opened and have never been disappointed. They will do their best to accommodate you. The owner and staff are friendly, courteous, and will even give you water while you wait for takeout. Miso and hot n sour are what you want on a cold day or pre sushi binge. The poki and fire n ice salad are delicious. Big chunks of fresh fish n seafood. The rolls oh the rolls! Awesome! Again, you really taste the fish and not just sriracha n mayo or "eel" sauce. The sashimi is nice and thick. They also come up with clever and tasty daily specials. The udon is great too if you want some noodles. If you want top notch sushi anywhere near Elmhurst stop here. You won't be disappointed. read more

The sushi was fair. I requested the lunch special with nigiri sushi. I wanted to cancel the California roll and was willing to pay extra to get actual sushi instead of a roll. There was a little bit of a language barrier but the waitress came up and said she would substitute the roll for 2 pieces of nigiri (the two pieces were about the same price) I said no problem I received the bill and was not only charged for the two pieces that were supposed to be substituted, which I came to understand why,(maybe they couldn't sub on specials) so I simply asked for the California roll as i had paid for it. Apparently the concept wasn't understandable. The sushi was ok, the price was terrible. I'll be going to sushi nest or the place across from starbucks that's actually pretty good. Don't worry guys I only eat sushi like 4 times a week. No big deal. read more

Tried this place while running through downtown elmhurst and it was great! Tried the fried shrimp tempura roll and the texture of the shrimp was FANTASTIC. I highly recommend it. Also, got the small miso soup and it was the biggest order of soup I have ever received. Tasted great. The small order is PLENTY, even though it's only $2 plus change if i remember correctly. Sushi Time is an intimate environment with very good sushi. Due to space, it'd be best to go with a group of 1-4. The overall service is quick and they check in on your meal periodically. The only downside to Sushi Time is the smell. The smell of fish is slightly overpowering when you enter and when you leave, you're still masked with an odor of fried food. Other than that, highly recommend if you're looking to grab a quick bite of quality sushi. read more

I would have give, but my boys weren't completely satisfied with the chicken teriyaki dinner. I feel because they changed their minds once they saw what the others had.... we had to share our food with them! We ordered California Rolls, Crunchy California rolls, Salmon Avocado, Rolling Stone, and Snow Mountain! I have big kiddos! The boys are over 6 feet, and teenagers. This filled them up and my daughter, of course their parents too! The portions were big and food was fresh. We've only ever had it cold so having it fresh was great!!! We had ours delivered and are definitely planning on going in person.... I feel the chicken teriyaki was good but the kids just got eye jealous! I go to sushi in many cities and depend on yelp reviews. This is my first review. The sushi was not bad, but the whole staff acted like they wanted to be somewhere else. I arrived at 8 and left at 845. They closed at 9, but every action signaled that they were more interested in closing and going home rather than serving me. From the initial greeting which mentioned 845 is "last call", to the disinfecting of the sushi bar while I was sitting there, to picking up my check before I signed it, to asking me repeated times if I wanted anything else. Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. Was greeted by very friendly service. Ordered the "any 2 rolls" from the lunch menu and you get your choice of soup or a can of soda. I had the spicy California roll and a shrimp tempura roll and both were very refreshing. The atmosphere the owners are going for is a "order at the counter" rather than being waited on at the table. You'd probably better enjoy this place before the word gets out. This place reminds me of Umami Sushi near Norridge which had great sushi at an amazing price and now it's a madhouse because you can't get your foot in the door at night. As for Sushi Time: Food: Very very good. I've eaten at several places in the burbs and downtown and the sushi here competes with some of the nicer places in the city. Fresh and the tastes are blended perfectly. Great presentation. Good variety. My wife and I are still working our way through the menu, but I'd say 4/5. Price: Can't be beat. Especially if you stick to the extensive regular roll menu. The specialty rolls are a little pricey, but it's all relative. You won't find better sushi bang for your buck. 5/5 Atmosphere: Nice. Clean, with tasteful decor. My wife and I dressed up a bit the first time we went, but there's really no need. It's pretty casual. It's a little bit small, but it's been a quiet, relaxing atmosphere when we've been here so far. 4/5 Service: Attentive and polite. They were eager to answer questions and went to the kitchen a few times to get the answer to specific questions we had about the ingredients. I really like this place. It's kind of my go to place in town for really good, not overly expensive sushi. I have gone and eaten in which is fine but I use it mainly for take out. The sushi is really good and I think the prices are pretty good for what you get. It's not the place I would choose in town to go have a nice sit down dinner but it's great for lunch (pretty great lunch specials), and a quick casual meal. It's a pretty tiny place but it doesn't seem to be a problem to get a table whenever we decide to eat in. The staff is always friendly, the service is quick, and they do have a few tables outside during the summer which is always a plus!! Their spicy tuna roll is really good! They add tempura crunch which I love and it's not overly spicy. The pink lady roll is really good, and very fresh fresh tasting. Alaskan roll is always really good and fresh! Came here for a late Friday dinner after reading the reviews, what a great decision. My boyfriend orders Crab Rangoon everywhere he possibly can, so when he saw it on the menu there was no hesitation - we both thought it was one of the best we've had, very fresh and flavorful. We also ordered the Dynamite and Godzilla Rolls which were both amazing and bigger than expected, bonus! The staff was incredibly nice which made the experience that much better. This is my go to sushi place in Elmhurst. The owner and staff is always so attentive and pleasant to talk with. The lunch special is what brought me in to begin with, 3 regular rolls and a bowl of miso soup for 12.95!!!!! The ambiance is beautiful with very soothing accents and I have never felt like it was too small of a place when we have been there even if it is completely full. The rolls are very well priced and my favorite is the salmon mango which is a unique roll to sushi time in Elmhurst which is another large bonus! They also carry iced green tea and are extremely efficient with their orders, if I order for pick up the order is usually ready within 10 minutes or less. Overall I love this place, and will continue to be a customer! read more

The sushi is so fresh & flavorful! No complaints on the food review. There are some other random things they can work on... -I wish they had real menus to give their patrons because the 2 times I went, they handed me their paper carry out menus & it was weird because they were a little tattered. -Another weird thing was the music they played...it was light elevator jazz. -One of their training employees was wearing see through leggings-not what I want to see. -They kept asking if I'd like more water, which was a little uncomfortable since they asked so often. I appreciate them being attentive, but I'd recommend they just fill the glass. This is a fun, new place in downtown Elmhurst with great food! I'm sure they'll work out all the kinks soon!
