As a pregnant mom with a serious sushi craving, I was so happy with my experience at Sushi Time! The woman who helped us was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, taking the time to recommend rolls that would satisfy my craving while still being safe during pregnancy. My husband and I had been here once before and loved it, so we decided to come back--and we're so glad we did! The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The lunch specials are an amazing value, and the rolls have been perfect every time we've visited. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Sushi Time in Elmhurst and will definitely be back again! read more

We used to order from this restaurant once or twice a week and had always appreciated being able to make small modifications to the rolls because of dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, they recently removed the option to add special instructions on DoorDash and other ordering platforms. Now the message says: "The store has chosen not to accept special requests. Contact them directly with questions about their menus." This has made ordering much less convenient and has been really disappointing for us as regular customers. Small accommodations can make a big difference for people with dietary needs, so losing that flexibility has definitely changed our experience. Can you please allow special instructions so I can update my review? read more

Best Philly roll that exists in Illinois. And I've been to a lot of places lol. Fresh and big pieces of salmon. So good. It's my favorite sushi place! Service is always quick and pleasant. It's a cute spot inside too read more

This is my favorite sushi spot. The rolls are high quality and don't go overboard. I can't stand the trend of layering stuff on rolls to be the super godzilla elmhurst roll etc. and this place keeps it simple very well. My too favorites are the pink lady roll and sunset roll. read more

An alright option if you're looking for sushi in Elmhurst. The rolls are packed with fresh ingredients and fairly large cuts of fish, but the flavor is fairly plain and the price is a bit above what you'd expect to pay in the Chicago suburbs for something similar. As this is primary a take out place, there's a limited amount of seating available and it takes a while to be acknowledged for service as they're concentrating on take out orders. Overall, the food is alright but the price point is a bit high for the quality of food recieved. read more

Can I just say that the staff here thinks I'm a total weirdo but they still smile and hand me a little cup of ginger every time I ask? Please come spend money here! They really deserve the business. Also, fresh and yummy food prepared by people with assertive personalities. There is nothing not to like about this place except that it is sometimes hard to find parking. But that's okay! They deliver through grubhub. There is a sign by the cash register: you can't buy happiness but you can buy sushi. read more

Nice spot with maybe 6 tables and quick service. The rolls were cut thick and the dragon eggs made for a good appetizer. read more

Sushi Time - Dragon Eggs Sunset Spicy Tuna - Sushi Bars Near Me - Elmhurst, Illinois

This review is for curbside pick up. Everything about ordering online and picking up was painless. They're reasonably priced Especially for a place that's in downtown Elmhurst. I deducted the star because I ordered a spicy tuna roll with brown rice and one as is, and they looked and he is completely different. The one with brown rice had some kind of tempura stuff in it whereas the one with white rice did not and I actually was spicy. read more

On a lark we popped into Sushi Time for a bite to eat and were very pleasantly surprised by what they have to offer. The food and the staff are top notch. Being there for lunch we had the advantage of ordering two of the specials and we were amazed at how much food there was! Naturally we started with Edamame but then our Deluxe Specials came and we did our best to finish everything - we just couldn't do it! We ended a few pieces shy which is not normally how we... ahem... roll. The specials just offer so. much. food. and at such a great price. It goes without saying that the sushi is delicious too! On top of that, we enjoyed a semi-relaxing atmosphere that we shared with just one other couple. It seems they they cater to a lot of carry-out lunch orders but they were pleased to have some dine-inners. Everyone that we interacted with was very pleasant. Not finding ourselves in Elmhurst all that often we now have another reason to pop over when given the chance. Sushi Time is A+! read more

There were so many sushi options within a few blocks that I had a very hard time deciding where to order from. Two rolls caught my eye from Sushi Time so I decide to give it a go. Placed my order online for two specialty rolls through their website. The estimated time was accurate. I went into the store to pick up. I believe they had a reserved spot up front for curbside, but I didn't know so I had walked from the Walgreens lot. Food was well packed. They gave plenty of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. The gari was actually very good imo. Well pickled (?), not spicy at all. My two favorite sushi items are salmon and scallop. Both rolls were delicious. Generous portion. Good amount of fish. Not fishy at all. The ponzu sauce that came with Fuji Yama (scallop topped one) was interesting. Wasn't sure if it was better than wasabi soy, but it was a fun way to mix it up between the two rolls. My only complaint would be could do with more mango in the Captain Jack. I could barely taste it since it was like a sliver compared to the size of each bite. Will probably be going back again tomorrow to try a lunch deal! read more

Great food. Good portions on the sashimi. Always solid from a quality perspective. Ready when stated.

Average. Not good, but not bad. That sums up the experience. We ate at a table in the restaurant. There are only four tables and they are not really set-up as a dine in eatablishment. We ordered four rolls. I honestly could not tell the difference between the rolls by taste as they all tasted the same. There were no sauces or creams added to the rolls to add flavor. The only way to tell which roll you were eating was by visual clues. The rolls were very expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. We went off of the recommendation of a friend, who goes to nearby Elmhurst University. If you're in the area, my recommendation would be to try on of the other thirty plus restaurants down the street. read more

Gotten take out a couple times from here. Staff is always super friendly and orders are always correct. Usually go with the California roll and the Rock n Roll. Pretty standard California roll as California rolls go. The Rock n Roll is good, not heavily fried and very generous portions, however the inside ingredients were quite inconsistent throughout the roll the last time - super heavy cream cheese at one end with a tapering towards the other end. I didn't particularly enjoy the ends with the over abundance of cream cheese. Has been my go-to spot in Elmhurst for sushi and I'll explore a bit more but would definitely get from here again. read more

I saw this place had good reviews and wanted to give it a try.... It wasn't great. The sushi looked pretty and their portions were good. But it was warm, and there were little bugs on and around our table which made the sushi unappealing. The servers looked more at their phones than they did the customers. Disappointed. It's a pass from me. read more

Sushi Time is our go-to place for this type of cuisine. From the sweetheart roll, governors chicken, veggie spring rolls or steak fried rice everything is fresh, tasty and hot when you pick it up. We order probably once a month and are never disappointed with the price point or the food quality. One of the hardest things to do in the restaurant industry is be consistent and Sushi Time is just that. We will continue to patronize this business and we recommend it to others. No mystery meat or chewy meat like other places, just solid quality across the board. Hope indoor dining eventually comes back even with the small indoor seating you have it was always a nice option to have in the summer etc. However I know the take-out business must be good as well as there is always tons of food lined up to-go. read more

Note to Sushi Time owners: PRETTY PLEASE expand your business to Chicago! Happened upon this cozy, little sushi joint when I went to visit friends in Elmshurst. They told me it was their favorite local restaurant, and that was all they had to say. There is a free three hour parking garage just around the corner. I think it's called Addison Parking garage, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Free parking garages are unheard of in Chicago, so I took advantage of this. This sushi place is SMALL. If you come during dinner time, there's usually a 40 minute wait. However, Sushi Time is partnered with Tannins Wine Bar & Boutique, across the street. My friends said that Sushi Time will usually give them a $10 gift certificate to the wine bar, if there's a wait. We did not get a voucher this time, but nonetheless popped on over to Tannins to pass the time. In no time, Sushi Time contacted us that our table was available. We ordered the jalapeño poppers right away, which were shaped like little sushi rolls. Some of the other appetizers sounded good, too! We were all pretty hangry at this point, so we ordered some rolls: Mango Tango, Cupcake, deepfried Rock n Roll!, and three sashimi. This was the perfect amount of food for four people. It was AMAZING!!! Creamy, crunchy, sweet, savory, and mouthwatering. I did not get a chance to try the sashimi, so I don't know how fresh it was. There was a bit of an extra wait for the sushi, but our server was very sweet about it. She brought it up and apologized right away. I'm just going to "Roll" with it. You have my heart, Sushi Time! read more

I don't understand why it's hard to keep track of customers that arrive first versus that arrive later than you, yet the workers there still help them first and seat them while looking over you. My boyfriend & I are sort of new to the area, so we decided to try something new. We've been to a handful of sushi places in the surrounding area but nothing compared to Sushi Time! One thing to know before you go this place is SMALL. Like tiny. They might not have space because they don't have many chairs but let me tell you this sushi is delicious. I would 100% go back. read more

This is my favorite sushi place and it never fails to disappoint me. I can tell the sushi is made with care, and the people are always so kind and sociable. The shrimp fried rice is the best rice I've ever had, and I've tried a lot of rice. The shrimp was a little smoky, but not chewy. Cooked to perfection. The rice rice was perfect, and absolutely phenomenal. And don't get me started in the rock and roll sushi. Crunchy on the outside, but nice, warm, and fresh on the inside. It took me back to when I was a happy child, and not a boring secretary. I will always keep coming back to this place. Thank you Angela for the amazing service!!!!! read more

We normally always go to the same sushi restaurant near our home in Carol Stream, but were in Elmhurst, needed dinner and took a chance on Sushi Time. We liked that they had some unique rolls, one of which my husband ordered "Pink Lady," rolled in pink wrapping instead of the typical nori.  Everything we ordered was good, the crab Rangoon, the rolls, the plum wine.  We had a nice time and I'm glad we stopped in.  There were only 2 other tables being occupied when we were there, but I noticed that a lot of people came in to pick up carry-out. We will probably stick to our usual restaurant, because it's closer to home, and they have great cocktails, but if you are in Elmhurst, I recommend stopping in. read more

This is my second time in a long time and it was good before but now they have more sushi chefs and this time it was even better. I had Miso soup and the two roll special great. But the best surprise is the Mango ice cream desert just fantastic. Sushi Time is rapidly becoming my all time favorite. I'm back again I wanted something different so I tried the Dragon Eggs which just what I wanted but didn't know it also had Miso soup which is great. I came here on a Friday evening with a friend. We were seated immediately (no wait). Customer service - The waitress was nice, but there was a delay in getting our waters. We also did not receive our soy sauce after getting our sushi. My friend and I ended up asking the people next to us for their soy sauce since they were done eating. The waitress ended up asking us if we wanted low sodium afterwards (not sure if she noticed that we didn't get the soy sauce from her). Dragon roll (from specialty roll) - $12.95 - the ingredients are spicy tuna, avocado, shrimp tempura, BBQ eel with eel sauce and spicy mayo. The presentation was good. They say it comes with 8 pieces but feels more like 10 pieces. Ordering one specialty roll is pretty filling! I liked the combination of the ingredients and would recommend this as well. Specialty rolls come with 8 pieces (per waitress) Regular rolls come with 6 pieces and are usually smaller than the specialty rolls This place is located 5 mins walking distance from the Elmhurst Metra station. Parking is not too challenging to find (I think it is free too!..the perks of the suburbs). I would come here again if I was in the area. read more

Sushi Time - Dragon roll(bigger one) and alaskan roll - Sushi Bars Near Me - Elmhurst, Illinois

After much time and deliberation on where to spend my daughters birthday night for dinner, the choice became clear, Sushi Time was chosen. Sushi is one of her favorites and this one came high on the list to try. We're not from the area so just going off the reviews from others online. Due to COVID, we still weren't ready for an indoor experience so picked everything we wanted online from their website order form. After $125 worth of food was picked all that was left was for dad to pick it up and bring it home after work. 1. Restaurant choice was picked. 2. Got the online order complete. 3. Got the online order verification email receipt from Sushi Time stating it they received it and it would be ready at 5:55pm. 4. Off to the restaurant for pick up. Here's where things went south. Got to the restaurant and couldn't find parking so I called in and asked if they had a parking lot or curb side pick up. The woman answering the phone said no. I ask her if our order was ready and that I would just park out front and run in. She looked and said, no we just received this order. It won't be ready for another hour or hour and a half. Dumbfounded, I informed her, that I already placed and order and it was even confirmed with a time from their own online ordering system. She said no, it's not right. We're too busy. I asked what was the purpose for the online order system if it's not right, she said sorry and started to hang up (assuming I would wait). I told her to cancel the order all together. So, Sushi Time has on online ordering system. Been using it for a long time. But it doesn't work? Why doesn't it have a notification on the home page that they are delayed. Or when you place the order that it will be really long time before it's ready. Nothing. Then people like me, who drive an hour out of their way to pick something up only to be told to wait another hour is not acceptable. So this review is on customer service, business operations and ruining a girls birthday dinner. And for that we give them a 1 star. read more

I ordered here as a take out for the first time, got home, opened my sushi container, found little bugs all over my food! Gross!!!!!

Every time I have gone to this place . I have to wait 10min longer than what they said it would take.

Friendly service, small but cozy dining room, food was good but not the absolute best we've had. We had: Fried ShuMai- i'd recommend it, a nice twist on the classic steamed Shu Mai Crab Rangoon- wasn't super crispy, more on the chewy side, and although flavor was good the filling was to thin for my liking. Egg drop soup- good flavor but a more water-y broth than a traditional Egg Drop Soup. Hot Sake- two thumbs up! Dragon roll and Spider roll were both worth getting. Overall good experience for this sushi spot. read more
