I went to Sushi Time four weeks ago and had an overall pleasant experience. We got there before it got really busy around 7 so we only had to wait about 5 mins for a table. We were a party of 6. The way it works is you get a menu and you check off what you want for the table and what quantity, where applicable. It is also BYOB. The service was prompt. Make sure you don't order a lot for the table because you won't get a lot of the stuff you check off. The sushi was spectacular, particularly the Godzilla Roll. Everything tasted fresh and I can't wait to go back there and get more sushi. It cost $21.95 which is a great deal for unlimited sushi. Doesn't even compare to Minados. read more

As sushi novices, my friends and I came here to try new things and for whatever reason, we keep going back. Maybe it's the memories, or maybe we are just suckers for cheap food and average to sub-average quality. Throughout th years, we ordered almost everything on the menu and when it arrived- we had no idea what was what (still don't). A lot of the sushi tends to blend together... but the good thing about this place as opposed to Sushi village is that there is no extra charge for brown rice. Thats a big plus. Plus the sushi holds together pretty well. You get decent service and lots of "variety". Aside from sushi you can also get AYCE soup, sashimi, rock shrimp and ice cream. Found out about this place through word of mouth. All you can eat. Unlike other places that are buffet style, this place is different. You write what you want on the paper menu and they make it for you. $21 bucks for all you want, not just sushi either. They don't have a ton of variety for the obvious reason that it probably isn't economical to offer so many specialty rolls for that price. So mostly tuna and salmon options, but they are definitely good. My girlfriend and I were able to get in and out of here in about 25 minutes, probably the fastest we ever have eaten sushi. read more

Don't come out this way too often but when we do this place is a must.....until now. Monday night early dinner. Place was empty except for a few tables. We were two but asked to sit at a bigger table for more room and were told no. So there we were crammed at a table in the corner surrounded by empty tables. Served warm water with no ice and terrible tasting hot and sour soup. The sushi was not fresh by any means and the avocado was mush. Our waitress did not utter one word to us and was annoyed when we asked her for ginger and wasabi which should have been provided in the first place. I have never felt so disappointed in a restaurant to have to leave a Yelp review before. For $22 all you can eat, we were sat immediately, as the second group in the entire restaurant. We were given check off menus, We asked for hot teas. The waiter came back with water, and said the tea would be a minute. He left our menus, which we had filled out, and didn't come back for ten minutes. He then asked if we were ready, and took our menus to the back. We still had not received our tea. Another 15 minutes pass and we finally start to get out food. However, the portions were tiny, so we ordered doubles, which they would not give to us until we finished the first set. Most of these items were bite sized, so we ordered more, which took another 10 minutes. Our sushi came after 25 minutes from when we ordered but we could see the sushi chefs playing on their cellphones. We asked for our tea the second time, about 30 minutes from when we sat down, and finally got our tea. We placed a another order of food, and waited. The three women waitresses were laughing and playing on their phones, while the male who sat us was missing. We waited 10 minutes before finally being able to attract attention to ourselves to actually place the order. We waited 30 more minutes and none of our food came out, so we asked for the check. They seemed confused we wanted to leave without the rest of our food. Our total was over $70, but they only charged $70 to the card and made us pay the extra dollars in cash. They said as we left they must have dropped our order paper, but by that time there was only 2 other groups in the entire restaurant. Over prices for all you can eat, many other places are $3-5 less, have nicer sized portions, and actually serve you. Been here numerous times since I am from Bethpage. My go to for sushi take out. Everyday each regular or special roll is half off anytime before 5pm. They have a great selection of rolls and especially special rolls. My favorite if you like crab special roll is the Phoenix roll not featured on the menu but they have it. Also they make there rolls big unlike other places I've tried. The filet Mignon roll is always well known and even the California roll which is under $3 half off. This place is such a gem. The dining service gives you unlimited sushi plates with BYOB. You can get miso soup, tempura, seasoned edamame which is amazing and many other options as well. You can never go wrong here I've been going here so many times/years and it will always be my sushi go to. Just perfect and if you're out of the area visiting it's BYOB and with a great liquor store doors down or 711 down the block. Overall a huge hit! read more

First off....my friend made me come here. All you can eat sushi in a shopping center with a byob sign scares me. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Place seemed pretty clean & comfortable. For some reason, I pictured a buffet with tuna rolls sitting out since the morning You fill out these paper menus indicating what your table wants & how many of each item. We were 3 girls & at firsts I thought we were over doing it, but the portions are SMALL. It was good in a sense that you can try as much as you want, and re-order the things that you like. I feel like if i came back again, I would enjoy it more because I know what I want & what I like. sushi was OKAY. too much rice and nothing crazy. Service was speedy. Sushi Time 560 is the BEST!!! Sushi Time is where my sushi addiction started..It's such an amazing place!! It is reasonably priced with a large selection. The rolls are extremely fresh and just delicious. They have amazing specialty rolls as well. I love the kitchen food, my go to appetizers are the crabmeat salad, gyoza, rock shrimp, shumai & shrimp tempura. The service is good. The kitchen food comes out very fast after you put the order in and the sushi usually takes around 10 minutes to come out. The only negative thing is that the place can get crowded at times and when it is crowded the servers have a lot to do and it can get overwhelming so if you ask for things on the side it might take a little bit. So I came to this place after finding out you can BYOB which I thought was pretty cool. The deal that they run is $20 for all you can eat sushi. You can tell the sushi is not top quality as it was extremely chewy and at some times slimy but that's what you get with the price you pay. Still though not extremely bad quality. The one thing that was unbearable was the language barrier between the wait staff and customers. On numerous times the staff would stare at us and continue to ask questions that were not understandable. It was pretty tough to communicate through out the night. Going to Sushi Time is an experience because it's all you can eat and BYOB. It's best for a night spent with friends, and for less than $30, you're really getting your money's worth. After going back during the lunch hour, I could not handle the rude service. There were only three tables, five staff, not including the sushi chefs, but no one would assist us. We went for the all you can read sushi and half of the items we ordered did not come out. It took forever for the food. We kept reordering shumai and it never came out. A new staff would ask me what I wanted each time and I still didn't get shumai. I had to ask for the check.... Waited.... Waited... Asked someone else.... If you really like sushi, it's not a bad choice at $20 for all you can eat sushi. When you are seated you get pieces of paper to check off your order. One will have sushi and the other will have kitchen choices. The kitchen choices are more like tapas so I wouldn't recommend bringing someone who is not a sushi person - otherwise it won't be a fulfilling meal for them! Being a virgin to all you can eat sushi upon coming here, I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but combining the words "sushi" with "all you can eat" will illicit a resounding "where do I sign?" from me. So, I learned you order via pencils and small pieces of white paper wherein you indicate how many "pieces" of sushi you'd like. Initially, this was confusing to me but after writing arbitrary numbers down to see what happened, I got the hang of it. Which is not to say I liked it, ordering single dumplings (1) or soups (1) or (1) piece(?) of a tuna roll still is a little strange, and , to me, attempting to appeal to peoples guilt complex (I would feel much like a glutton saying 12 pieces of tuna roll, as opposed to 2 tuna rolls) but i'm sure that's the intent. The sushi was average to poor. Loaded with way too much rice and huge slices of avocado irregardless of what you order(don't get me wrong, I love avocado, but it became clear they were utilizing it as filler) I was actually playing a game trying to find rolls on offer that weren't stuffed with the stuff or wrapped in it. Somehow, the sashimi was salty - which clearly doesn't indicate anything good. Service was also below average, with large wait times with empty plates and drinks (just water) it was busy, but given the nature of the ordering system it becomes clear if a table is waiting (just look for the white slips of paper) So, low quality sushi loaded with filler, below average service, archaic ordering system (I much prefer some of the newer all you can eat sushi places which just allow you to order from the menu normally - but to each his own) and a very strange location. The price is good, but if you don't enjoy your meal then what's the point? Life is short, and with so many other great places (even if you are just looking for sushi) vying for your time and attention, and willing to reward you with a much better experience, I wouldn't bother making the trip. read more

I do not like giving one star reviews, because I honestly believe that restauranteurs with best hard to try to deliver a fine dining experience to their customers. Otherwise, why bother going into that business? So it makes me sad to have to do this, but I feel other diners should be warned, and I'm very hard pressed to find any way to find them more stars. Firstly, let me just say that I am not expecting much, or demanding. When I walked in and found it this place was supposed to be all you can eat sushi for about $20 per person, I was already skeptical. That price seemed low for fresh sushi. The place did not look exactly like it's going to be a nice dining experience. It was crowded, tables were pressed too close together, and where we were seated, the people paying by kept accidentally hitting our table, making it rock. So let me try to break it down to bullet points: 1. As I said, seating was uncomfortable. 2. Menu was confusing. It does not indicate exactly how much food you are getting in a serving. Oh sure, the sushi says "one piece per order", but the rest of the items DJ not indicate anything. And they mean nothing, as the results are wildly inconsistent. 3. Whatever you end up receiving did not tie into what you order. Seriously. If you actually try it, you will see. We ordered fried rice that never arrived. We ordered salmon that never arrived. We ordered calamari, and received a plate with literally two small rings of fried whatever. Look at the photos. It's insane. We ordered the short rib appetizer, with three people on the table, and received one plate containing one but sized rib bone. Literally. 4. When we asked the server what happened to the rest of our order, they gave us another order slip. So we ordered again. And more randomness ensued. I swear, it's like playing roulette. You have no idea what's coming. It is a truly wild experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone, or ever go back. And yet it's wildly crowded. Let me start by saying if I could give this place ZERO stars I would! Immediately when I walked in I got a bad vibe by the seating being crammed and the manager running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Once we were seated we quickly learned the incompetence of the entire staff. More than half of the food we ordered never showed up on our table and the food that did make it was absolutely disgusting! I will be fair and say the sushi was average, but all of the other food was terrible tasting and not cooked properly. The staff barely speaks English which makes communication nearly impossible. When you speak to most of the staff members they look at you like you have 5 heads. Bottom line don't waste your time and money at this place unless you enjoy grey, slimy, uncooked chicken and the worst service you could imagine. The manager ended up adjusting our bill to compensate for our poor experience, but it just amazes me how poorly run a restaurant could be. read more

Went on a Monday evening around 8pm, no wait but most tables were taken. Service was quick and nice. Soup and sushi was really good. There were also some really nice speciality rolls. Did not dislike any of the sushi I tried, (Even the mango, lobster, shrimp tempura roll)! Some of the menu slips say how many pieces per order you get (i.e., 1 piece per sushi, 5-8 piece per special roll etc,. so if you want 4 tuna sushi pieces you'd write 4 orders) the appetizers don't say how many pieces per order so when we put 1 order of calamari and 1 order of scallion pancake, we literally got 2 fried calamari rings and 1/8 of a scallion pancake. It was a pretty pathetic plate haha they should really put that on the menu. The only reason I'm not rating 5 stars is because some of the sushi we ordered was not brought to the table upon ordering, probably just from busy waiters overlooking the menu. This used to be my go to all you can eat sushi restaurant. Since I moved out of the area, I haven't gone as often but was nearby tonight so thought it would be a nice treat. Unfortunately, there were only 2 waiters on the floor, which made things chaotic and impossible to get anything. I was immediately given food I didn't order, which didn't even make sense since my order hadn't been taken yet. After I did end up getting some food, some more wasn't what I ordered, and to top it off I had no plates or utensils for at least 10 to 15 minutes into having my food! I asked both servers to get them and it was only when I asked a 3rd time that I finally got something. When the sushi came, it was the compete wrong order again! I had to wait about 10 minutes to even get a servers attention to tell them. I understand they may be short staffed, but they rushed so much that they really neglected their customers. Needless to say, I will be staying local to where I live now and this will probably be my last time going to Sushi Time. read more

This place has great tasting sushi (the filet mignon roll is probably my favorite) and the price is great for an AYCE lunch or dinner! But I didn't like that they didn't fulfill some of our order. There were certain pieces of sashimi missing and two rolls that were ordered never appeared. Strange, since we went during the afternoon and the place wasn't crowded at all, so couldn't have been a kitchen backup. We ended up reordering them, along with some other items during round two ( and yet another item was missing then!). I know they say to not waste your food, but did they think we weren't going to eat those particular items? So weird. The quality of their food is really really good, especially considering how much food they produce in a short period of time! Their service is also impeccable. I have one positive for this review so I will begin with that. They are BYOB. Moving on .. I tried sushi time 560 with an open mind. I was actually very excited because they offer half price rolls during lunch. I ordered 3 rolls using beyond menu and my total was 6 dollars. When i went to pick up the rolls the asked for 17 dollars. I Nicely pointed to my receipt which had 6 dollars . The hostess explained that they didn't make enough money using beyond menu so I either had to call beyond menu and cancel the order or pay 17 dollars. As the customer I don't think any of the above are my problem. My husband being the calm nice person he is called and cancelled with beyond. We paid 6 dollars and went on our way. When I got home and ate the rolls I wished I had just left them at the restaurant. I cannot imagine AYCE at this place. Don't waste your time with poor quality sushi. read more

This place is excellent and has great value! The sushi is delicious, from the raw stuff to the hot, cooked rolls. Bring your own beer or wine and it's all-you-can eat for lunch. I cannot believe what I just experienced! I just went to sushi here for the first time and I found 3 metal staples in my seaweed salad after chewing on a nice metal piece. I am so upset and now needing to seek medical attention. When I brought it to the waitress and managers attention I was told I would get 5 dollars off... when that has nothing to do with it. The best word to describe it is "Fine".
