I've been to the Bayside location twice with my wife, so this was our first time visiting this location with my wife, my parents, and our 11-month-old daughter. Let's just say we came hungry... We arrived during the weekday lunch and were greeted and seated almost immediately. One thing I really appreciated was that the background music wasn't blasting. We could actually hear each other without shouting across the table, which made the meal so much more enjoyable. I immediately ordered our usual Lunch B, and if you're wondering what to get, here's my recommendation: Thick-cut pork belly Thin-sliced pork belly Thin-sliced beef brisket And our absolute favorite... the beef intestine! If you've never tried the beef intestine, don't knock it till you've tried it. It's incredible! I love that they cook everything on cast iron because it gives the meat an amazing sear. Even better, the staff cooks everything for you, and they absolutely know what they're doing. The thick-cut pork belly paired perfectly with the kimchi. The thin slices weren't cooked until they were completely crispy. Instead, they left parts beautifully browned while keeping the rest tender and juicy. You get the best of both worlds with every bite! We also ordered the bean paste soup, beef soup, and bibimbap on the side. My parents can be pretty picky, especially when food is overly salty, so I was pleasantly surprised when they both commented on how well-balanced the flavors were. Everything was seasoned just right! The staff rotated between cooking and serving, and every single person provided excellent service. Two moments really stood out. The first is during our second round of ordering, I ordered the spicy pork ribs along with a few other meats. The ribs arrived on a portable trolley next to our table, but by then our daughter was getting tired and we knew we'd have to leave soon. I asked one of the staff if it would be possible to return the uncooked spicy pork ribs because we wouldn't have time to eat them. I was also a little worried about being charged for them. The staff kindly checked for me and came back with a friendly, "Okay!" I was so relieved and really appreciated how accommodating they were! Then came the second moment that completely won me over. After my wife handed over the payment, one of the staff came back to let her know that gratuity had already been included and that she was accidentally tipping twice. That level of honesty and integrity deserves recognition! From my experience, not every restaurant would take the time to point that out! I have tried Won Kbbq in bayside a while back and I liked it. So I decided to give it a try to the Carle place one. To be honest, it had different vibe. It felt like not so authentic. Maybe it was because there were so many birthday celebrations there lol Anyway, the menu includes many items. Most of the meat we ordered were good and the servers were very helpful to cook for us. The kitchen items were just so so. Also, the ventilation wasn't so good. The cooking smoke kept blowing towards my face. I had to switch seats with my husband. I am Korean and therefore, am very picky about Korean bbq. I don't generally like all you can eat Korean bbq places because meat quality and overall taste tend to be subpar. But they are fun to go with a group, especially with non Koreans because they can try a variety of things. I've tried Kpot, Gen BBQ, and Let's Meat and they were all just so so. However Won Kbbq totally exceeded my expectations! WOW! Everything was fantastic- meats, banchans, appetizers, salads, and service!! Really, really solid and awesome. Bulbogi was tender and had the right amount to sweetness. Pork steak was also tender and perfectly seasoned. Brisket was thinly sliced and flavorful. Marinated chicken was also delicious. The servers were so friendly and attentive. They changed out the grill pan after each round of meats. We had a great lunch and will definitely be going back. This place is huge, clean and fun. This place is a bit more expensive, but for good reason. Portions are large. Service is impeccable. They cook the food for you. Food is great. Unfortunately I have a pineapple allergy and could only eat the spicy and non marinated items. Be warned the spicy kicked my butt and I love spicy food. The table comes with dipping sauces, kimchi, some pickles radish and bean sprouts. The suggestion to make things a lettuce wrap was perfect. Had a great cooling effect, plus is was a great vessel for the house dipping sauce. That sauce was so good, garlicy, chili laced but not too spicy and perfectly balanced. We tried a few side dishes. We came here on one of the chilliest days. Hoping we can warm up to the grill. Sadly that wasn't the case! We had to keep our jackets on! I'm not sure if it's because we came on a slow weekday for lunch. But it was just sad. I never expected a big guy like myself being cold INSIDE a restaurant. But, at the same time made sense. Not enough people and they had to turn on all the ventilation for each table even though there were only 10 or so people. Don't get me wrong. Props to the boys that was grilling our meats! This is their second location, and I actually prefer it over the Bayside one since it's much more spacious and comfortable. I used to frequent the location in Bayside awhile ago before I moved outta Queens. But didnt know they had a location here on LI. Came here for lunch on a Sunday right when they opened @1130AM. Perfect time because no wait and not crowded. This place was an enjoyable experience. The all you can eat Korean BBQ setup is a blast, with a solid selection of meats like brisket, kalbi, bulgogi and marinated steak & chicken that were fresh and tasty, especially when grilled on the cast iron pot at the table. How it works is you order 4 meats per round and a server comes in and cooks it for you on the pot in the middle of the table. Once it's done, you can distribute it amongst your peeps. The standout was the kalbi. It was very tender and flavorful, my son loved this! He calls it cow-meat. Lol All you can eat appetizers included steamed egg, udon noodle soup, tofu soup, beef soup, japchae, veggie dumplings and many more They were good! Decent but not great AYCE KBBQ. We've tried Won KBBQ previously at the Bayside location (replaced O2) and it was pretty good then, but the CP location didn't quite live up to the Bayside experience. One thing's for sure - make reservations ESPECIALLY on the weekends. We came as party of 5 around 7:45pm on a Saturday, and still had to wait a bit for our tables. The menu here has good variety of meats and sides for $42.95 per person. Meats are portioned according to table size, so be sure to specify if you'd like a small order of anything. For meats, thin sliced brisket is always a must - this is one of my favorites. I also enjoyed the pork belly + pork jowl, since they provide radish wraps and all the fixings! The marinated kalbi was also good, but a bit beefy for my liking. Would definitely skip the chicken - not a fan of this. We also ordered multiple sides, including the stews (kimchi & bean paste were good, hard pass on the beef + radish soup), steamed egg, salad, lettuce for wraps, and garlic/jalapenos. Service left something to be desired and varied drastically. We had about 3 servers - one looked like she hated her job and just cooked all the meats like she was trying to get us out of there. What I especially didn't appreciate was how she threw raw chicken on the grill before we had a chance to even move some of the cooked meats. We had to overcook our beef because the raw chicken touched it! The other two were decent - one was more attentive than the other for things like banchan and water refills. The price came out to around $43 per person, which felt very reasonable for the quality and variety offered. The selection of meats is extensive, and what really stood out to me was how well marinated everything was. The flavors were bold, balanced, and there were plenty of sauces to mix and match depending on your mood. Nothing tasted bland or rushed. Everything had depth. The service was excellent. The staff was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. They regularly came by to check on us and helped cook the meat to perfection, which I appreciated. They have Lunch and Dinner options, but you can only select the Dinner option on weekends. We had the Dinner menu and it has a good selection of meat ranging from pork belly to kalbi. They also have lots of soups, side dishes and appetizers that make for a nice meal. The orders of meat come out really quickly and we weren't left waiting for meat as there was something cooking at the table. Suggestion: the waiters should remove the cooked meat from the cook top prior to putting on a new batch of raw meat to cook. The cook top is slanted so that the juices from the raw meat will touch the cooked meat at the bottom. Price was a bit high, but still worth a try. For these reasons, I gave them 4/5 stars. What an amazing time at Won K BBQ. Ambiance decor and amazing service this place has it all. The best part is that the menu tells you how to make a Korean lettuce wrap and for the first time, I'm not responsible for cooking my food so none of it was burnt!!! Most KBBQ places I've been to have very fatty cuts of pork and meat, which I don't like. So bonus points for extra protein! Their dinner menu was $42.99 per person and doesn't include dessert or beverages aside from water. Service was fairly quick and quality of meats were good (more on the leaner side versus super fatty). They played K-pop hits which added a nice upbeat feel to the casual vibe. Came on a Friday evening around 9pm and only waited 10-15min. Their menu wasn't overly extensive and table was already set with sauces and banchan when we were sat down. My friends and I came here for AYCE KBBQ over the weekend - it was really easy to make a reservation online since Yelp allows for reservations. The place itself is super spacious and the air ventilation is amazing here and we all did not smell too strongly of BBQ when we left here. The staff was super friendly. I first had a glass of Hot Seoul which is a Strawberry Kiwi Soju Cocktail topped with Sprite which kept me cool and refreshing during the hot summer day. The meat was very juicy and tender. My first time there was phenomenal and their staff is really great. However, I went back recently with a food club that we started at work, and I felt very rushed, and I thought the hostess was kind of rude. We had a reservation for a large group, but we were told we couldn't be seated until the entire party was there even though I specified that we could start ordering and they could charge us per person when all was said and done. They refused and then when we weren't allowed to be seated -fast fwd 15 to 20 minutes; the hostess came up to me super aggravated saying she couldn't wait any longer and they were super busy-which they were so I get it but again I had offered to start ordering and letting our guests show up and still being charged full price regardless of how long they sat for because our guests were aware there was a time limit. Then when it came time for dessert, we were told-verbatim-there was a large party coming in and they needed our table so we could not order dessert-our server was super gracious, and he tried to be as helpful as possible-however this wasn't an issue with him, but with the people overseeing. They are STRINGENT when it comes to their 10-minute grace period for reservations. From our party of four, three walked in to check into our reservation. We waited about a minute. The hostess walked up and asked for our reservation. She asks if our party was all together. We told her the fourth was parking the car. And she cited "you're two minutes past the grace period". 3/4 of us were there and we waited a minute for the hostess to arrive to her podium/desk. We walked out. We had to greet our fourth at the entrance door to turn her around to leave. THANK GOD the hostess turned us away. Just standing at the desk for one minute waiting for the hostess and we reeked of stir fry food. We instead when to Cassariano's Italian Eatery in Mineola. The ambiance was elegant, food was AMAZING and the staff were friendly. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and made to feel welcomed. Best of all, when we left, we didn't smell like the kitchen. Cassarino's is at 348 East Jericho Turnpike.
