Ended up here for Christmas dinner and wow the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. So chic and very clean. Waitress was phenomenal! Food quality and aesthetically pleasing, tasty and fresh. Opened until 2am!

My bartender/server Nathan was excellent. I asked him to craft me some cocktails and each was a hit. I enjoyed the Hawaiian Susji Sandwich (2nd time I've had it). For a fun, unique twist ask for a side of their hot garlic butter to dip. I actually prefer it to the traditional eel sauce or spicy mayo.

Proof I paid the bill plus waitress tipped herself $35 then came back and said card declined

be aware. this establishment has a waitress by the name of gabriella b. that is committing fraud!!! i went for a business meeting and we had one too many drinks and this waitress thought she could scam us and get away with it. i paid my bill using two separate gift cards to settle my bill. total bill was $232.73. she charged the first gift card $167.93 which what was left available on the gift card. she proceeded to charge the second gift the remainder of the balance totaling $64.80. she gave herself a $35.04 tip. returns to our table and says that card was declined. the gentleman i invited for a lunch meeting offered to pay the remaining balance and it was totally embarrassing for me because these were the cards i had on me to pay and didnt have another payment method with me. he paid again and i left completely embarrassed. receipt proof attached. i will be filing a police report against her tomorrow morning. my accountant caught this closing my business monthly expenses for march. photo represents all payments made by me. total scam!!!

First time back in 3 years and really impressed! Sushi Sake is a small spot with a super cool vibe--dark lighting, neon accents, and a big tree in the center that gives it a fun, trendy feel. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started with gyoza and a tuna roll--both fresh, but the gyoza was especially good. I had the blueberry mojito (very sweet but I liked it), and my husband's vodka/grapefruit was good but a small pour for the price. The Dragon Roll and Bahama Roll were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. The special fried rice was also amazing, like hibachi-style with jumbo shrimp on top. Only downside was the kids' steak teriyaki--super chewy and not edible. Wish the server had acknowledged it, but we let it go. We shared the fried ice cream for dessert--perfect portion for 4 and really tasty. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality. I'd love to try their happy hour next time. Definitely recommend--just skip the steak and stick to sushi, gyoza, or fried rice!

We've been coming here for years. It used to be our go to no matter what, then over time it turned into more of a last option when nothing else was open. Back in the day, the food was mind blowing. The rice especially used to hit different. Service has always been hit or miss, not terrible, but some servers forget parts of the order or write things down wrong, and it's happened more than once. Lately, we've been trying other places. A lot of spots are stepping up with better quality, more creative menus, and lower prices. The sushi and rice here just aren't what they used to be, and the drop in quality has been noticeable every time. That said, it still holds up pretty well compared to other places nearby when it comes to hibachi. Not the best, but definitely still good.

First sushi spot in a long time that really gives you a hefty amount of food per order. I got the salmon roll and sushi pizza and good lord it was so fresh. Amazing quality and flavor for the price. The service however was slow and the spot was pretty much dead. The waiter was very awkward and not friendly but who gaf I'm coming back

The food was great but very pricey for such small portions. However I would go back for the excellent service and delicious sushi! It was also very clean and beautifully decorated. They will also sing happy birthday and give you a complimentary dessert. They aim to please their patrons.

This was a fun nearby experience down the street from home. I haven't been in this building since way back in the day when it used to be a Boston Market. They remodelled the interior super nicely where there is no comparison to what it once was. It is modern, cozy, in a great location with a socialable staff and bartender who makes some unique drinks. We showed up for Happy Hour right after work and sat at the bar, starting with a tequila and pineapple. We began the game-plan with the Miami Heat roll and negimaki. My friend insisted that I try the Rainbow Roll which is his alltime fav compared with all the nearby sushi hotspots. I agree! The fish was fresh and that will definitely be my choosing with future adventures. The Miami Heat roll is a shrimp tempura, cream cheese, krab skad topped with baked salmon, spicy mayo and topped with crunch. It scored Second Place but was a great Happy Hour addition combined with drinking. The Negimaki was my least fav of the bunch. I prefer the thinly sliced steak to be wrapped around asparagus. Overall though, great experience with many adventures, exotic drinks and different choosings to come in the future.

There's a server that comes in throughout the night to check on you and take your orders and whatever you need. It was a lot of fun! Not sure if renting the karaoke room is an additional cost (maybe the host paid for this?), but we all split the food/drink check at the very end. It was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend!

This time we ordered edamame, Wild Mushroom Chow Fun, braised short rib, wagyu potstickers, green tea, and for the kids the Vegetable Lo Mein Bowl. Everything was delicious, fresh, and came out really fast. A few small things disappointed us this visit. They changed the menu and removed my kids' favorite grilled cheese. It used to come on this amazing soft airy rice bread grilled to perfection, and now it's just a regular multigrain sandwich. The kids were genuinely upset since we always ordered it for them. My green tea was also served with water that didn't seem hot enough, and the foam on top was a little off-putting. I know green tea is brewed at a lower temperature, but this just didn't feel right. Also, the restroom used to have a beautiful chandelier, and now it looks like something happened to it -- only hanging wires are left, which takes away from the otherwise polished aesthetic. Still, KAPOW remains one of our favorite spots because the food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is fun and stylish, and service is always quick.

The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the night. The restaurant itself was also really beautiful and had a nice upscale vibe. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and service at the beginning didn't match the atmosphere. When we first sat down, one of our glasses had a lot of scratches and the other one was visibly dirty. When I asked for them to be changed, the waitress initially insisted it was just scratches, even though one was clearly dirty. She eventually replaced them, but the new glass was also heavily scratched, and what bothered me most was that she took the dirty glass and placed it on another table instead of taking it to be cleaned. The attitude at first felt a little dismissive and rude, although she did become much more polite and helpful as the night went on. Another downside was the bathroom cleanliness. It smelled like a public restroom, which really didn't fit the fancy atmosphere the restaurant was trying to create. Overall, the food was genuinely excellent, but for a place that looks this nice, the cleanliness and attention to detail should be much better.

The sushi chef was Korean, but definitely not Korean sushi chef quality work. There are plenty of places you can go to for equal or better quality sushi for better prices. The toro had Clorox scent as if it had been placed on a cutting board that has been wiped with a sports towel that was soaked in Clorox. The Uni was fresh but the amount was disappointing. I am uploading pictures from different places for comparison. Anyway no need for me to say anything else. Won't be returning, ever. I could barely swallow the 2 pieces of nigiri and app that was drowning in salty ponzu sauce. I will leave this place for people who dont know how to enjoy some good sushi. After they are ready for you they will seat you at the bar and they will serve you the food. I will agree with a lot of the other reviews. I wish it was a little more roomy. You are elbow to elbow like on a spirit flight. I think removing one seat from the bar would give a lot of room for the others. Which is kind of poor design because the waiting area is quite large compared to the bar too where everyone is served. Sushi by bou has a pre set menu so it's technically not true omakase since it means "I leave it to you," the chef. But everyone gets the same thing so it's not really different if you go again. With all of that said, the food is still great. The quality of sushi is high and the cuts are solid. Service is great because they are right in front of you so you can just ask if you need something. Seems like there are more workers than customers really. Would definitely go again if I wanted some good sushi.

Maybe it's quieter outside but those tables are right next to the street. We had to yell to hear each other. Our server Sebastian was so pushy and constantly upselling us. As soon as we sat down, he asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, but that question should always have 3 options: still, sparkling, or tap? He then recommended the signature omakase, the most expensive thing on the menu. When he came back to take our order, he made a big pitch of today's rib special. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were. The yellowtail roll was bland, which is probably why there's a chili ponzu sauce to go with it because otherwise all you can taste is pear, which isn't a flavor I'm looking for in sushi. We ended our meal with scallop tacos, which were good but microscopic and pricey ($17 for 2 tacos). Each one is a bite and a half. It took a while to flag down Sebastian for the bill, so we were stuck in the din of the restaurant for longer than we liked. If the restaurant's filling up, wouldn't you want to turn our table and seat new guests? My husband made a note on the res that it was my birthday, but it was ignored. Maybe we would've had a better experience with a different waiter, but this was a disappointing meal and service.

Reservations are required well in advance, and there are 2 seatings daily, 6pm and 9pm, each hosting roughly 7 couples, which keeps the atmosphere serene and intentional. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the entire staff and seated immediately. We were the first to arrive, so I took the opportunity to admire and take pictures of the space before others arrived. The interior is stunning, breathtaking, and transports you straight to Japan! There's a beautiful private room the back which holds up to 8 guests and the personal chef and low to the group Japanese style seating. On the night we dined, we enjoyed an 18 course omakase tasting, paired with 4 sake tastings. The four sake selections were all exceptional, smooth and refined and unforgettable, even though I regret not capturing each of their names. The meal began with one of the most delicious bites I've ever had, king crab served over a warm and decedent custard. From there each course built on the last. We tasted a variety of salmons, tunas; some completely raw, and some aged to perfection for 14 days. Along with snapper, beautifully grilled Chilean sea bass, and many other crafted dishes. I tried Uni for the first time, and I finally understand why it is referred too as 'ice cream of the sea'. The taste, texture and aroma were all exquisite, creamy, delicate and truly memorable. The experience ended with a warm miso soup, followed by a refreshing melon wedge, and a red bean ice cream sandwiched between two very flaky wafers. Every single bite left me in awe. The chefs knife skills, the precision, the presentation, the simplicity of certain dishes which still packed powerful flavors, it all showcased the artistry of true Japanese fine dining. This was more than dinner, it was an experience. My absolute favorite dish? The A5 Wagu. It was heave on earth, melt in your mouth perfection. If you appreciate fine dining, exquisite flavors, culinarily history, and the craft behind aged, cured and meticulously prepared food, Taki Omakase is an unforgettable experience that you will love from start to finish.
