    Spicy tuna crunch
    Sim J.

I was in the neighbourhood and overdue for sushi; this place came recommended by my sister and her husband who frequent often. We picked up a to-go order comprised of miso soups, creamy shrimp, agedashi tofu, spicy sunflower roll, spicy tuna crunch roll, salmon oshi aburi, inari, dynamite roll, cali roll and salmon sashimi. The standard items tasted as expected. The salmon oshi aburi was easily the stand out dish. The salmon was fresh and perfectly torched, with the perfect amount of crunch and heat from the jalapeño and well balanced with the signature sauce on top. I could have easily ordered two more of those to myself. The spicy sunflower roll and agedashi tofu were both good as well. Both tasted fresh and well seasoned; I particularly appreciated that they leave the sauce for the agedashi tofu on the side so that the tofu remains crunchy and the batter doesn't get soggy by the time it makes it home to you. The spicy tuna crunch was a miss for me. I wasn't expecting the tempura crunch part to just be toasted panko thrown on top of the roll, and the roll itself was lacking spice or any other flavour. The creamy shrimp were a bit weird as well; I've never had a full tail-on shrimp sandwiched inside of a gyoza and I can understand why it's not more common. Overall, I appreciated the fresh taste of all the food and would definitely come back for the oshi and to try new things on the menu!

Sushi Mori is thankfully open during the pandemic, and offering great service and food. They are following strict covid guidelines to keep everyone safe. They offer sanitizer at the door, and all servers were wearing masks. They make sure that you feel safe while dining in with them. They have a large menu, that has something for everyone on it. They also have some selection of rolls that are quiet extravagant compared to other sushi restaurants. Sushi Mori has a beautiful interior, with white faux cherry blossom trees as decor. They have Japanese inspired wood seating that is comfortable. They have a variety of seating options that would be easily accessible for those who need wheelchair access. The restaurant offers more than most, but their prices do reflect that. As their prices are above the average. I would recommend to friends and family, and I would go back!

What a cute restaurant! Our Tuesday Lunch Club from work checked this place out today on my daughter's recommendation! The restaurant has such a unique look with the low rustic wood tables surrounded by Cherry Blossom trees. Hard to explain with out seeing it in person...but it works! We ordered off the lunch menu! I am not a big sushi fan but I ordered the: Tofu and Vegetable Bento Box - $10.95 The Yam Tempora was my favourite but I did enjoy the whole box! Large servings...ended up bringing my avocado rolls home! Cute little place...and great speedy service with a friendly smile...I would recommend checking it out!

Its really a nice atmosphere in here. It is so nicely decorated that it, along with the food, is still in my mind! The sashimi is thick and fresh. Like really thick, and it was really fresh. Not really what I am used to as I usually go to ayce joints in the Toronto area. Fish is cut much smaller and is definitely not as fresh tasting. In my opinion, its worth it for the premium. I also tried the Udon soup (PIPING HOT, BE CAREFUL). It was pretty good but because it was so hot, I couldnt eat it right away. By the time it cooled down the noodles were soggy :(. We also tried a couple of rolls and the chicken Yaki udon (big recommend!).

I found this cute little place on-line and was super excited to go there for lunch while I was in the area. Who doesn't want to dine with cherry tree blossom decor like this?! The ladies there are so friendly and sweet, and helped with suggestions on their delicious menu and what to order. There menu is so cute, and filled with such an amazing variety to choose from - they have something for everyone and every craving! I loved the decor and was an enchanting place to sip hot ta and have lunch. Their food was delicious - I tried the Crazy Girl sushi roll and spicy pork gyoza. I'll be sure to come back on my next trip to the area!

The most beautiful ambiance at this sushi place and best quality sushi in Langley! They really pay attention to the small details. I absolutely live this place. From the ambiance to the food, everything is spot on. Let me just start by saying the decor in this restaurant is very aesthetically appealing. There are blossom trees everywhere, they also have secluded booths and open booths. I got there around lunch time on a Saturday and they weren't too busy. I went by myself and felt awkward at first, but there were a lot of people who were just working near by and who came for lunch alone. I was seated right away and the service was great. I ordered the gyoza and yam tempura roll. Usually when I order gyoza it doesn't taste house-made. These gyoza were by far the best I've ever had! Perfectly crispy and steaming hot with a side of sesame oil and soy sauce mixture - absolutely delicious!!! The yam tempura roll was also one of the best I've had. It had avacado, lettuse, carrot and cucumber in it as well and was topped with a honey garlic sauce. I was expecting only yam in the roll but was super happy to see it also included vegetables. I give this place a solid 10/10. They never fail to satisfy my sushi cravings!

I've been enjoying the Langley sushi scene for years. Sushi Mori changed the game. Located in the space that was formerly Willow Video's second location, Sushi Mori is a Japanese Oasis across from Willowbrook mall. From outside it doesn't look like much......until you see the illuminated cherry blossom trees through the window. Upon entering we were greeted by the entire staff shouting welcoming words. They spared no expense in the design of the dinning room. The perimeter has some private rooms and booths. The walls are covered in carved wood and several traditional paintings. Even the ceiling was done in great detail. No water-stained acoustic tiles here. What makes the room is the centre area. There are a few full-sized trees with several tables and interconnected benches. You really feel like you're not in Canada anymore. The menu is a full ten pages. They are very detailed and bound in a hard cover. It's like reading an atlas of food. We took about ten minutes just to read through it. The tea is of higher quality than other restaurants in the area. It's also served in small cast-iron pots. We started with appetizer sashimi ($8.95 for 7 pieces) Served on more of a decorative tile than a plate. On it were 2 salmon, 2 tuna, 2 tai, and 1 ebi. Garnished with shiso leaf, wasabi, and ginger. As a nice little bonus there was a sauce on the side, a ponzu vinaigrette of sorts. The fish was fresher than any other sashimi that I have eaten. Since this was a first visit and everything seemed great so far we opted for a good cross-section of the menu. Next up was a couple salmon cones. They aren't actually on the menu so I can't name the price. They were great. The Goma-ae roll ($3.50)was very good with a genrous amount of peanut sauce on top. Veggie tempura roll ($4.25) was nice and crisp, not greasy. Inside was yam, sweet potato, carrot, onion, and green bean. The dragon roll delivered everything it promised at $12.50 with it's sweet and smoky flavour. I was challenged to try something new. Tobiko and quail egg ($2.50). The thought of eating raw egg yolk honestly grosses me out, but you only live once. Paired with the warm rice it was actually very good. Hard to describe. After being stuffed to capacity there was one thing left to try. Green tea ice cream! ($5) When the bowl arrived it was 3 generous scoops with chocolate sauce drizzled on top. This was indeed the tasty snow on the meal that was the size of Mount Fuji. This meal came to about $60. A little much, but great for a nice night out.

Inside Sushi Mori. The trees are very pretty.

We love Japanese cuisine so I decided to surprise the hubby with an omakase for his birthday in January. Unfortunately, they have a 6-month wait and I was not prepared so I ended up booking it for our anniversary in May. The food was phenomenal and delicious! I love the chawanmushi loaded with goodies inside. The ankimo (monkfish liver) dish was so tasty with the scallop and prawn. Black cod was cooked to perfection! The nigiris are all so fresh. We quickly put ourselves on the waiting list for after September so we can come here again soon! There's a parking lot just next door. The place inside is small and intimate. Service is great!
