( the first order ) My extra charge of the spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce on the roll itself.
Lotus D.

This use to be my favorite sushi spot but after the second time of the workers not doing anything to help me I'll never order again. Yesterday I ordered sushi and ask them if they can put spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce on the sushi roll. The lady told me it would be extra $.50 I said OK no problem I'll pay it. The delivery came with no receipts and when I open the sushi there was no teriyaki sauce or spicy mayo on top of it I called back the store and the guy picked up the phone and I explain to him what the situation was and he said we don't do that. I asked them for a receipt because I never got one and I explained that the girl told me that you guys do that for an extra charge he said he would call me back and also send me a receipt and I never got one. Today I order it again from them thinking it would be different I did get my receipt but I also got my sushi roll the rice was off of my roll. I called him about it and he told me to send them a picture he gave me a number and I sent in the picture a couple of hours later I got a text message back telling me it's a wrong number. My teriyaki sauce that I got inside a little cup was also stale because it was hard and probably sitting there for A while. The customer service really is terrible because they never get back to you!

heaven on earth!!

Food is usually pretty good, but service isn't great and delivery takes a long time. Service is SO important.

My family and I had the most amazing lunch here recently. We came on a weekday shortly after…read moreopening and were seated right away. My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. My donburi set also came with dashi broth that the waitress later brought over to pour on top of the leftover rice in my bowl to be enjoyed at the end of the meal. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Although the pork could have been better/more tender, the broth was rich and seasoned so well and not too salty like other places. Last but not least, the service here was excellent and efficient. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Brooklyn as there were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try!

This place is super popular and I get why. It was packed but the service was insanely quick and efficient, which I appreciated. We shared the chirashi (9/10) and a spicy tuna roll (7/10) and it was honestly more than enough food for both of us. The sashimi is chef's choice so you're getting whatever's freshest that day. Overall, the quality was excellent. A couple of pieces were a little on the flavorless side, but nothing that ruined the experience. I'd still give it a solid 9/10 and would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

We had never heard of it before and decided to give it a try! We came in right before happy hour ended but by the time we ordered, happy hour had just passed. Jhon, our server, was so nice! I loved the ginger in my drink and my coworker really enjoyed her matcha drink. The seared tuna was delicious. Super fresh & light. The miso chicken was nice and retained its crunchiness even in the yummy miso sauce. We would definitely come back here and was glad we stumbled upon it. We would try other items for a full meal. It is a nice date spot. Washroom is clean and there is plenty of seating for various parties. My coworker, who is a NYC local, will be recommending this place to future visitors!

Got brunch here on a Sunday with a friend. We split the Hot Honey Gem Salad and Hottokeki (Japanese…read moresoufflé pancake). The pancake is gigantic and is absolutely meant to be shared. It was really fluffy and smelled soooo good (reminiscent of the HK street cart waffles). But because it's so big, by the time we ate half of it, we were getting a little tired of the same taste. The salad was good but nothing to rave about. For drinks, we tried the Lebowski-San and Kettl Hojicha Kombucha. It was my first time trying a clarified cocktail and it was really unique. I thought there would be more ice cream honestly but I still loved it. The kombucha though was shockingly tasty. I loved it so much that I bought a bottle online once I got home (they're from Kettl, a local distillery in Brooklyn). The venue is really spacious and I actually planned a wedding here in the past. They host a lot of events and there was even a birthday party happening when I ate there. The only downside is the location. The only train that goes there is the G so it's a bit hard to get to. Food: Hot Honey Gem Salad (radish, buckwheat, fennel, yuzu vinaigrette) 9/10 Hottokeki / Japanese Soufflé Pancake (fluffy hotcake, honey maple butter, sesame) 9/10 Add Mini White Sesame Soft Serve (soy milk, sesame oil) 10/10 - I would recommend just getting this on its own instead of the Hottokeki if you're craving just a little dessert. Drinks: Lebowski-San (green tea shochu, pisco, sakura leaf, clarified matcha ice cream, cold brew coffee floater) 9/10 - This is a clarified cocktail which I didn't expect. I thought I was ordering a matcha ice cream-like drink so although the drink was good, all the ingredients are very subtle in flavor. Kettl x Unified Ferments 'Hojicha' Kombucha (jou yanagi hojicha) 10/10 - This is an absolute must-try!

Last I was here was for brunch and we sat in the outdoor patio area. We got a two things to share and a main each. Shared plates were the soufflé pancake and silken tofu. Both were a miss for me. The pancake had a baking soda aftertaste and also they brought it out right away instead of after we finished our mains so it sat around in the table for a while until we were ready to eat it. Silken tofu had a mediocre flavor palette. There was no variation in texture either, just one plate of mushy items. We didn't finish either one of those. For a main, I ordered a a Wagyu beef bowl. It was really good but on the smaller side. The service was attentive aside from a spillage when the order came. Then they started placing plates on top of the spill instead of wiping the table. Eventually they cleaned it but overall there was lack of training in this case. I am not dying to come back here but would consider if I'm in the area again. I really like the actual space but food/service can improve.
