I had a great dinner at Sushi Tokyo! A lovely, creative, friendly, Kosher, Japanese restaurant in Brooklyn. I loved the place, great vibe, great service. They serve a full gamut of Japanese cuisine, from sushi, to rolls, a great ramen, a whole grilled fish, steak, you name it. I finished with cocktails and dessert. All 100% kosher, totally loved it.

Right before Shabbat, I was able to dine in and grab a quick bite of Crunchy Tempura Rolls.

Three words describes this place. Bugs, + food poisoning!! This PLACE IS A NO GO ON SO MANY LEVELS. We came here as a party of 6 last night and I came with an open mind considering my friends chose this place. All the negative reviews are spot on. MY FRIEND FOUND A BUG..FLY.. I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO CALL IT CRAWL OUT OF HER AVOCADO ROLL. I cant make this up? Im all about supporting local buissneses but seriously? So I'm thinking a manager comes over and appoligizes... nope nothing. They take it back and my friend(Who is pregnant) is utterly disgusted. Did I mention I went with 2 pregnant friends!! How do they not care that they are putting out such nasty food. She orders something else and they didnt even partially comp or appologize. I think this place is GROSS. The little fruit fries coming to attack your food mid meal were terrible. The attitude of staff is SO BAD. I mean I get you hate your job and the manager hires a bunch of kids who look like they just graduated highschool but atleast train them to deal with situations. They charged us for a random extra roll on the bill, not to mention that they brought all of our food out inconsistently...To make it clear wouldnt it make sense to serve eveyones food together, OR atleast somwehat together? They brought one of my friends 3 rolls out and no one got there food yet, so he finsihed eating and everyone waited. Seriously this place is terrible. The attitude of the guy in front when we atempted to talk about the issue of the extra charge said "talk to your waiter" and pushed us away verbally. Seriously there is no reason to come here if you enjoy good service and fresh food. BUGS IN SUSHI is disgusting, and no apology is WORSE. You have to ask for everythign 5x in order to get it to your table. I ended up with the biggest stomach ache ever at 2am I will never come back and plan to file a formal complaint with the Dept of Heath. By they way the tip is included which usually I couldn't care but after you have the worst service how is it ever acceptable.

Phenomenal sushi. Beautiful and tasty. I also adore the fries!!! Really great fries, especially for a sushi place.

    Free edamame! Awesome!

Sushi Tokyo is my go-to place to satisfy my sushi craves, and especially if it's in late hours of the night (they open until 3 am), the large menu offers something for everyone, so even if your not a big sushi fan you can enjoy the range of salads, entrees and mains.. I always get the shitirikki roll (probably misspelled it lol) I was so surprised that when I checked in through yelp I actually got a free edamame ! Best perk ever .. service was quick and waiter was super nice.. the place is clean, nice lighting and cool music!

The chefs special Mexican roll which was not special at all. Just a standard spicy roll.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

It's an even bigger menu,…read morewith a fusion of Asian cuisines on offer, from Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Singaporean to Japanese and Thai. Dipping their toes in so many different arenas might actually be their detriment because they're going for everything while not excelling in most. I would rather they cut down on some dishes and make sure all are great instead. I absolutely love their Thai fried chicken, which is so affordable (8 pieces for $12), and tastes so crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful on the inside. It comes with a tangy fish sauce, but you can add different green curry and/or red curry for 50 cents each. I like it best with the fish sauce. However, that's the Thai fried chicken is the only dish I absolutely love from this place. Everything else is very mediocre, which is unfortunate. 6 rolls bento - $15; comes with california roll, spicy tuna roll, lobster salad roll, salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, shrimp tempura, kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken. It's a lot of food for $15, and the sushi actually tastes decent. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken are just tiny portions, but the fried chicken are like nuggets and taste really bad. 4/5 Mushroom noodles - $10; It's so rare to find such affordable e-fu noodles but sadly, it tastes nothing like what e-fu noodles should taste like. I wouldn't even know that they're supposed to be e-fu noodles if I just blindly tasted. I would not get this again here. 3/5 Pad see ew beef - $13; Again, like the mushroom noodles, it didn't taste like pad see ew. It's missing that sweetness and charred factor that's usually present in pad see ew. 3/5 Pad Kra Pao (??) - I can't remember if it's this dish that I got, but it was some type of Thai rice dish with a meat sauce. It was so terrible, I only ate 10% of it and didn't take it to go. 1/5 Pad thai - I didn't try it but my friend got it and the color looked really off. Aside from the food, there are other improvements to be made here. It seems like a family-run restaurant, with only two workers facing the customers. It's really hard to get their attention when the restaurant is busy. The space is very tight and looks like it could be more well-maintained. They also need more menus. Hard to share just one with the whole table.

We ordered the crunchy cabbage, marinated cucumber, crispy garlic potatoes, mushroom Tempera, a variety of skewers including the washugyu & shishito and scallop bacon and pumpkin (you can choose fried or grilled, I chose grilled styled) and the champon noodle bowl. The food comes out very fast. The cucumber was alright though I was not a fan of the WakuWaku sauce overly sweet. The cabbage was delicious but lacked flavor. Huge portion though. Then came out the skewers. The pumpkin was cold. I wasn't a fan of the washugyu & shishito one. And the scallop bacon was just eh, didn't really notice the bacon on it. Everything tempera one were my favorite. I loved the potato tempera it was perfectly fried. Esp. with the spicy miso sauce, it was fire, I was dipping everything in it. And the mushroom was even better. Enoki mushroom was delicious. Careful with the chicken karaage it comes out HOT. Massive pieces so good and juicy. Great portion. The noodle bowl is bigger than your head so I advise to only get one if you're sharing portions. I like the flavor of the soup, very soothing. Good collagen boost too! Lots of seafood in it. Perfect soup for a cold rainy day like we experienced. Theres miso cod was good but have had better. Honestly everything was good. I would just not get the cucumber dish and the skewers we ordered next time. They have some also have tatami rooms if you want more of a traditional Japanese style like restaurant. It's above and beyond your basic udon soup, really flavorful and hearty -- I think it's the brown mushrooms. I'm not normally one to rave about udon, but it just really blew me away.
