Beautiful presentation for take-out (they use flowers!)
Elen T.

We had a sit down dinner as well as got take-out once. The place needs some renovations and furniture replacement, but overall they have a pretty cozy interior. Food is tasty but we found it greasy (or too much fat - like a lot of mayo in some sushi), but it depends on what you order, it's up to the guest. Cleanliness is so-so (may be it looks that way because they need renovations and some organization inside the restaurant).

This is the back parking lot and how I entered the Sushi Kui. Up the stairs and on the right are the main doors.

Solid 4 stars! I really enjoy the maki platter from sushi blue! They don't seem to have a website…read moreand it's not already on Yelp so I found out about it via Doordash. So i was a bit skeptical. But I'm glad I take the risk cuz it was good! And I've tried quite a few sushi takeout during these covid months. We ordered the 42 pcs maki platter. It comes with 6 California, 10 red dragon, 10 caterpillar, 10 dynamite, and 6 spicy salmon. With tax and fees it comes to about $60. (If not doordash maybe closer to $50). The size of the rolls are big and the ingredients are fresh. And I'm so surprised that the rice actually tastes vinegary! This is rare for Maki takeout platter! Tho it is a tad bit too sour, if they can reduce the vinegar by a little it would have been perfect. And their rolls are not drenched with sauce yet each ingredient is so flavorful. I really enjoy the caterpillar roll, it has grilled eel inside it was so good. I think overall it is a very reasonable price and the Maki quality is good. It was also relatively quick so we didn't wait long until the food arrives at our door step.

Firstly, I love the fact they give you a choice to choose between 5 or 9 pieces for their specialty rolls. I'm the kinda gal that loves variety but can't afford the luxury with rolls as they are often times too filling. At sushi blue, I can have my variety of rolls and eat it too! The second thing that differentiated sushi blue from other Japanese restaurants were their prices. I was amazed how much cheaper they were than some of the neighborhood sushi restaurants but let me assure you, the taste was just as good. For example, my black dragon roll would average $17 else where, but it was only $13 here. The texture of the rice can be a bit better but the quality of the ingredients was on par with my other favourite sushi restaurants. We will for sure order from sushi blue again!

Food 3.5/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbience 3.5/5 An attractive clean looking restaurant with dine-in and take-out. The restaurant has several menu items for sushi and Korean foods and offers a menu of lunch specials. We ordered: Takoyaki Lunch BBQ salmon Donburi Tonkatsu Curry I enjoyed the Takoyaki. The size of the pieces of octopus was decent. My partner enjoyed the Tonkatsu Curry. The curry sauce came in a separate bowl. The best part of the BBQ Salmon Donburi was the avocado, which they gave a generous serving of avocado. In the Donburi, I thought the sushi rice was underwhelming and bland. The BBQ salmon was over barbecued and sooo dry it could not be saved by the lime aioli and teriyaki sauces. Our friend who ordered the sushi really enjoyed their appetizer. Service: This is the first time I can recall that there is no complimentary green tea offered when dining in at a restaurant offering sushi or Korean food. We asked for water and our friend ordered a beer. At about 15 minutes later, the beer was served. After the food arrived, still no water. We asked for the water again, and four little Chinese tea cups of water (100ml) was served. I don't know if this is standard at this restaurant but it stood out as very unusual in my experience. Plenty of parking right outside the restaurant. The restaurant is at the end of a plaza. There was a sign at the door for a sushi platter special on Wednesdays $49 that looked promising. I wanted to like the restaurant more because the dining in area was very pleasant.

I have had the bara don with ikura as well as some of their lunch specials. Staff are friendly and provide attentive service. I think it's a good takeout option as well.

Ok listen. I've…read morebeen to many all you can eat sushi. Many. Don't bother with any others in the area except this one. No disrespect intended but this place truly does it right. Ambiance was cute and the tables were a great size to do some damage. Let me explain to you that a smaller all you can eat menu is way smarter as the restaurant can then focus on quality rather than quantity. A lot of other places don't have fresh fish and rice. The other thing I loved as that this place had smaller rolls. I can't stand when there are huge rolls that you can barely fit your mouth around. It's more impressive to pack a lot of flavour in one small bite. I would say focus more on the rolls and nigiri and sashimi rather than the hot appetizers. They were still good but just not as good as the rolls. The chicken karrage could have been a little more crispy. Stand outs include: -Miso soup (it just tasted better than ones I've had and really hit the spot) -All nigiri and the torched sushi -Snow White Roll and the Feza roll -All sashimi -Takoyaki -ALL of the desserts We also split a sake flight which was so good as well. Great service and everything was soo satisfying. Just go and tell your friends. The one bad thing I would say is now I'm craving it again. I wanna go again..and again..and again.

We were happy when popping in for an early dinner. Besides an a la cart menu, they also offer…read moreall-you-can-eat. Although this isn't listed on the menu, nor the iPad you use to order. Food was delicious, and service very prompt and friendly. There was only one other customer in there at the time, so not sure what it would be like later in the evening when busy. Overall we were happy with the meal and would certainly eat here again if I the area.
