I wanted to ensure that I followed up this review with details of my visit at this establishment and how I was treated.
There is a smoothie king next door to the establishment. After getting a smoothie, I saw Sushi Jin and thought to myself "ooo this is perfect for a quick dinner". Upon entry, I was immediately sat, it was around 7:40 on a Wednesday evening. You can tell that their take out is very busy so the food must be popular.
It took about 10 minutes for the first server to speak to me and I wish I was ready to order at the time because she didn't come back for another 10 minutes. At 8:00 I ordered a specialty sushi roll and chicken ramen, it was a variation of a California roll with cooked crab on top.
I did receive the roll within 10 minutes (8:10/12).
This is where it starts to go down hill.
After receiving my sushi, I waited about 50 minutes total for my ramen. At 30 mins (8:45) a different server than the one who was previously serving me asked "Is everything okay? Oh you're still waiting on your ramen, it's coming!"
After 10 more minutes, I was looking for her to cancel my order. I waited too long at this point. 10 more minutes pass and she drops my ramen off at the table very quickly and walked away so fast. There was no time to tell her that I did not want it anymore at all. I tasted it and pushed it in front of me to make clear that I was not going to eat it.
The person who sat me, who would I assume is the manager or in charge walked past. It is 9:00 at this point in time. I flagged him down and told him "I would like this taken off, I am not going to eat it.-" before I could get any other words out at all he starts yelling at me (a behavior that's repeats throughout the ordeal).
Through the entire ordeal I was calm and clear. He walks away and then slams the check on the table, with the ramen on it! I had my card in hand and I calmly told him again that I will not be paying for the ramen. (Please note, I was even willing to pay for half of the ramen). He was not having it and continued to yell at me in front of other guests and threatened to call the police if I refuse. I calmly repeated myself and told him that if he would like to call the police, that is his right but I will not be paying for the ramen. I have not eaten it and it took almost an hour to get.
I then stood up, and waited patiently for him to return to the register by the entrance. At no point was I refusing to pay for what I consumed and received in a timely manner. I also had my card in hand, clearly showing my intention to pay.
As I am waiting he orders me to sit back down because he will be calling the police. I calmly told him that he can do so. I will not be going anywhere but you have no right to talk to me this way. He continues to yell at me. I step outside. I wait outside for a few minutes. Again, no intention on dining and dashing but the entry area is small and I did not want to sit at the table. As I am outside (I've been waiting for a few minutes) he comes out and he tells me to go back inside and give him my ID. I calmly told him "no. I will wait here as I have done so for the last few minutes" he responded with "well how do I know you're not going to leave" I told him " Sir, if I was going to leave, I have had several opportunities to do so. I will pay for what I have said I will pay for and am fine waiting for the police" (he talked over me at this time too).
He then came out 30 seconds later and said to me " Shut the f**k up, just leave. Get the f**k out of here. Don't pay for anything black b**ch". There were several witnesses to how I was treated both inside and outside of the restaurant that can attest to my behavior and his. I then left and will never be returning. I have NEVER been spoken to/treated so harshly in such a way. His behavior was completely inappropriate. After the matter and reading the lowest reviews, I see that this is not abnormal behavior. read more
