I didn't find any krab or even the taste of it, but good none the less. I shared another appetizer, inuri ( not sure if spelling), tofu fried in a wrapper and covered in a delicious sweet sauce. I'm not a tofu person, but this dish could change that! DH ordered hot and sour soup and drunken noodles. Not a fan of hot and sour soup but I liked this one! So did DH. He loved his drunken noodles with pork. It had a hint of curry and was a little spicy. He ordered a sweet tea and said it was really, really sweet. Diner #2 ordered miso soup and teriyaki chicken. She loved the soup and I got to taste her chicken. It came kind of fajita style on a sizzling platter with red and green peppers, broccoli and a little bit of onion with a generous portion of chicken breast sliced on top with a good sauce and sesame seeds. It was accompanied by white rice. Large enough portion that she has lunch for tomorrow! Diner #3 ordered an eel roll and a few pieces of fat salmon sashimi. She said it was all good. I ordered pad Thai with shrimp. Several large shrimp were delicious and the noodles were very good. I ordered it as mild as possible and there was not a hint of 'hot' spice although it was physically really hot, which I love. I think next time I'd ask for a little heat in it. As I'm writing this I realize I could have asked for some chili oil or something to spice it but I enjoyed it very much. The server was terrific and a few people made sure our drinks were refilled. I definitely am looking forward to my next visit here. There are lots of things I want to try!

The fried rice is also good, and my wife enjoys trying the different sushi on the menu. Only thing I had that didn't meet my expectations were the pork dumplings. Huge portion sizes on their entrees. Even without a reservation, I was seated immediately, which was a great first impression. The service was excellent. Our server mentioned it was her first day, but you would never have guessed as she was attentive, warm, and handled everything beautifully. The food truly stood out. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The hibachi experience was just as enjoyable. The chef was entertaining, skilled, and added a fun, engaging touch to the meal. The restaurant itself is clean, inviting, and has a great atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your time. I'll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great sushi or hibachi experience.

I think that the customer service was excellent and the chef had charisma, personality, and should do stand up, he was a pleasure and a joy such a guy with rizz. My issue was the food itself as the rice was amazing but did not age well being taken back home for take out, and the chicken and salmon were not as flavorful as a homemade version I would had cooked so there was the blandness. I ended up having digestive issues and got sick for a day or two after eating from here which was disappointing, because the vibe is awesome in this spot and the positive energy is contagious. I felt so relaxed and joyous here. I think the food can be cooked better even though they are generous with excellent portion sizes. I think it is a strong contender for one of the best restaurants in the region if they step the food preparation up. I also did not like this sauce they provided, but it does have better customer service than the typical DMV spots which tend to struggle with the customer service, so they get an A with that making you feel welcomed and respected and not strictly transactional experience, very warm, nice, attentive, diligent, and hard working staff, so they have the bones here, so once they step up the actual food prep and quality then they will be 4 to 5 stars easily. That is all I got!

It took a few minutes for someone to come to the register but I wasn't in a rush so I waited quietly. The kitchen looked very clean and well organized. The floors were clean (no sticky shoes noises here) and that's always a good sign in my book. I was told it would be about 10 minutes. I ordered the chicken hibachi and 2 vegetable spring rolls. I didn't check out the restrooms but they are available for customers. I don't blame the establishment but I wrongly assumed the fried rice would be Japanese style. When I got back to work and saw the rice...I understood why he asked if I wanted yum yum sauce. It was definitely catered to DMV carry out standards. The spring rolls were a tad greasy for my liking.

The lady cashier took over and things went much smoother. We ordered, paid, and waited. While we waited we asked questions about the food on the hot bar and the lady that was tending to that didn't understand a single word of English and I struggle translating Spanish words in the correct order to make a sentence. LoL! I know the words but can't put them in the right order so there was a language barrier happening here. LoL! Some of the food on the hot bar looked like it had been sitting for quite some time under the lamp and it looked very dried out. I ordered the beef teriyaki, my husband ordered the chicken / beef / shrimp teriyaki, and our daughter had the chicken teriyaki. We ordered extra Yum Yum sauce to go with it. I didn't taste everyone else's this time because I was hyper focused on mine. The Beef Teriyaki was bland. There was no flavor until I dipped the beef in the Yum Yum Sauce. I asked for steam white rice and I received fried rice. Long review short, I didn't eat this because I'm going to have to add some seasonings from home to hype it up for it to be good. My husband on the other hand enjoyed his dish because of the shrimp. Our daughter ate a big portion of hers. She didn't say whether or not she liked it. 2.5 Stars.

There's plenty of parking around the restaurant, plus there's additional parking in the giant shopping center. Sushi Freedom is marketed as an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) place, but you can also order a la carte. The AYCE price is about $33 per person for dinner/weekends ($23 for weekday lunch). They also have lunch specials, but these are only available on weekdays (similar to the buffet pricing, the weekend is all-day dinner). Sashimi is only available at dinner. Even though it's called "Sushi Freedom," they have other Asian cuisine dishes on the menu. I like that the AYCE also includes apps, soups, salads, and some noodle dishes. I did a la carte this time, but I will definitely come back to try out the AYCE. We were greeted and seated right away. Several customers were finishing up their meals. The tables were already set with menus, napkins, and silverware. Once we were seated, our server immediately got our drinks. Service was excellent! He asked if we had any questions about the menu, checked on us, was knowledgeable about the menu and nuances of the sushi rolls and other dishes, and the sushi was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Our sushi had nice presentation. Each sushi plate even had a pretty flower garnish. For my rolls, I ordered the Twin Tower specialty roll (shrimp tempura and eel, ~$14) and a fresh yellowtail sushi roll (~$7). Shrimp tempura and eel are two of my favorites, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a roll with both. It also came with imitation crab and avocado. I enjoyed the roll but didn't really taste the eel. The yellowtail roll was good, but fish portions were on the small side. I was tempted to order another roll, but at that point, I was pretty satiated and on principle, I might as well have gone ham and done the AYCE (next time). We ended the meal with fortune cookies. Solid sushi and great service overall - I'm optimistic about the AYCE. Sushi Freedom is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and will surely help you get your sushi fix.
