Good sushi place for lunch near the hotel. We go here often when we come to DC. Restaurant is spacious, can accommodate large groups. They also serve ramen.

I went with my best friend for dinner last night. They were pretty busy and nearly packed by the time we got there. We ordered 3 different types of sushi and I had a strawberry Japanese soda while she had a sprite. It was delicious. This was my second time getting food from here. But the first time I got my food to go. I will definitely be back in the future.

I work in downtown Silver Spring and I was craving sushi for lunch today. I did a search on Yelp and saw that this place was nearby. I ordered a lava roll. I went in. It was kind of empty, probably because of the rain, but when I tell you, this is one of the best sushi rolls that I've had in a long time, very fresh and packed with flavor. My order was ready when I arrived just like it said it would be. The restaurant itself is very nice and quaint. Every time I crave sushi while I'm at work, I'm definitely coming here. This lava roll is PERFECT!!

No parking around(Or I should say extremely hard to find parking). So not friendly for who drive just for dine in. Sushi(Nigiri) is fresh and is exactly what I expected. The size of nigiri and the taste like Omakase sushi, but only take half price of other omakase restaurants, so I'm really satisfied with this part. I love Seared Salmon the best, and then the Fatty Salmon, Medium Fatty Tuna. The Mackerel nigiri really surprised me, it's fresh and little fatty, only little sour, which I really love it!! Total $98 includes tax for 2 people but my husband says it's small portion for him and it's not enough. This is just a reference for everyone else. Overall, this is valuable and recommendable. Uber Eats might have some discounts so you can order in Uber Eats and pick it up.

Nice location with friendly service. I tried just one roll, so I cannot give a comprehensive review. I sat outside and thought the music was turned up too loud there. It's probably to attract customers?

Very great food and the sushi tasted very fresh! The service was pretty good and the ambiance was very chill and not too crowded.

In town for a work trip and I came looking for some chicken katsu curry! Found this place while looking on google, and came before I went to a concert. It was a cute little place with seating for small to large gatherings as well as a bar area if people would like to sit alone or prefer that type of dining experience. Service was good, the young lady at the front desk helped me out as it was my first time there, and was very friendly and sweet, as well as very on top of making sure I was okay. I did eat the chicken katsu curry and it was delicious!! Large portion and very delicious. Being a spicy person, I'd only love if it had more spice to it but that's okay! The potatoes and carrots in the curry were delicious, chicken breaded and seasoned nicely, and the rice is delicious as is. I'll have to come back before I leave!

This place has a pretty good happy hour deal in silver spring but it does end early so more convenient who work in dtss or work from home and live in the area as well. The sushi is consistently good! The service is quick and it has a casual ambiance.

I was in downtown Silver Spring to see a movie, and took the opportunity to che K out the Kusshi Sushi around the corner to the Regal Majestic theater. I go to the Kusshi location at Pike and Rose in North Bethesda frecuently, but I had not tried this other site of the Kusshi empire. Kusshi Sushi Silver Spring is tucked away in a recessed store front, so you have to look for it carefully, otherwise you may miss it. There are some tables outside to dine Al fresco, but the main seating in inside. You have to go to the main register to "check in" and then seat at a table for service. I found this a little bit odd since the decor gives more of a take-out/casual fast service vibe; it is sparse and practical, with many two seater tables, but every seat has already a set up (glass, chopstick and napkin). Kusshi serves popular Japanese dishes, like sushi, sashimi, rolls, katsu (chicken, pork cutlets),various noodle dishes, etc. I decided to splurge and ordered the "deluxe" sushi/sashimi combination, which included more expensive fish like toro tuna, fatty salmon, Japanese mackerel. I also added an order of uni (sea urchin roe) because I just love it. The order came in a traditional, old-fashion giant sushi boat, which was fun. There was a great variety of both sushi and sashimi(fish only), including ebi(raw shrimp), fatty tuna belly (toro), and various salmon. There was a higher sashimi ratio, which it typically makes a sushi serving more expensive. I got the sea urchin order (2 pieces) at the end and they were small but super fresh and delicious. The freshness of the fish was a characteristic of all the fish included! The rice was soft and not overly seasoned with vinegar, which is a trick used by restaurants when they are serving not-so-fresh fish. I also ordered a Sapporo Black Japanese beer, which was served in a frosty tall glass, and it was much appreciated! The service was incredibly attentive and friendly, which was algo greatly appreciated. The only negative issue that I noted was that their air conditioning was making a horrible noise and there was a drip from the ceiling being catch by a bucket at the very entrance, which I hope is a transitory situation in an otherwise perfectitly acceptable restaurant offering fresh fish at a good value. Recommended!

Good sushi and service! Indoor and outdoor seating. Food was delicious. Loved the presentation too. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. They do offer wine, it's just not shown on the menu. You can just ask for it. Nice spot!

Great sushi spot, I've been to the Arlington location before but this was my first at this one. Nothing to complain, highly recommended if you want some fresh sushi in the area.

The sashimi snob is at it again! Cozy space in downtown Silver Spring, with outdoor tables as eager for warm weather as I am. The tempura appetizer was excellent, just enough batter for a satisfying crunch without overwhelming the perfectly cooked interior. And not a hint of greasyness! I ordered the sashimi bento. Big bowl of hearty miso soup. Gyoza, shumai, and Spring rolls were good, but not exciting. The California roll was totally minimal, about the diameter of a quarter and made with [barf] surimi. The pork bun had an intriguing interplay of tastes and textures. And last but not least [drum roll] the sashimi. Two generous cuts each of salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. Good, but didn't evoke salt spray and gull calls as the best fish can. Service was cordial, but the pace was a bit off. I wound up with soup, appetizer, and main all on the table at the same time. So I'll give it a good, not great. Fine place to stop in during shopping or before a movie. And don't forget the check-in offer.

The pork broth is standout, but I absolutely dream about the spider ramen. Named for the fried softshell on the top (which you can ask to swap for more shrimp), has a tom yum-like flavor. Creamy, spicy and slightly acidic, the broth could be poured on cardboard and I would eat it. Noodles are always perfect and the seafood is present, but not a huge portion - so you can focus on the broth. My only complaint? The lobster broth in the spider ramen dish is not listed as an option for the "make your own" bowl...which would allow me to perfectly customize it. I will regularly order the spider bowl in the meantime with no softshell, extra shrimp, and if I'm feeling down additional noodles and broth (allowing me to indulge for multiple meals) . Bubble tea is tasty - especially the rose milk tea. This place has a counter with a handful of seats and two tables for 4-6. After waiting for a table, we decided to mostly do takeout. We can order online. Would be great if they had a spot out front for takeout pickup as parking around the restaurant can be hard at times.

The bowls were entrée size and beautifully prepared. The ramens didn't seem fresh cut noodles, like you may find elsewhere, but the delicious full-bodied soups more than made up for that. Some might find the prices high for considering what you get, especially for me compared to NYC similar hole-in-the-walls, yet when in the area I'd recommend Ren's Ramen. The Rockville location here is perhaps not the most beautifully decorated, with some rather odd ornamentation (like an actual, possibly functional, payphone? ), but it's still a nicer spot than a typical lunch counter. Okay, confession. I have no idea what the different ramens are. I always just kind of pick one randomly, and I've never met a ramen I didn't like. This time, I got the tantanmem. Of course, picking randomly, I picked one that used ivory soap as a topping -- or as you fancy people call it, "cilantro."
