This place has a huge parking area and as you walk inside you have to enter on the way left nor right hand door . Inside you see the Hostess desk and the Barista area where they sell all assorted drinks to sodas exotic drinks and more . Plus they habe a huge Sushi Bar where they teach abd show how they make their famous sushi. Its incredible how they use their knives and more to do it . This place has incredible menus to choose from. I would love to work here someday but I have to find out how to apply here . We've come to the end of an era. Repeat visit Sunday, 9/6 sadly made us declare it was our last visit here. What happened to Peter? There was no bartender (and don't judge me for wanting a Margarita on a Sunday). The older, non-smiling, but efficient hostess has been replaced by a non-smiling, earbud-wearing, nonchalant millennial. I've mentioned their skeptical cleanliness before. This time was even worse. The menu had an odor, the soy sauce on the table was sticky, heck, even the table was sticky! The sushi was still decent and presented well (although now I'm questioning the cleanliness of the lights and other decorative trinkets placed on the sushi platter). The vegetable lo mein was mehhh and the miso soup was not edible. How do you mess up BROTH? *Sigh* Also, CLEAN UP THE EXTERIOR ... all that dead foliage is an eyesore and a turn off. Everything needs to be improved at this restaurant. I used to come here at least twice a week. Today is my last time coming here. The employees are rude and disgusting. I ordered all you can eat sushi. The waiter decided that he should spin around in the dining room instead of coming to check his table. It was an off time so there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. I was able to get his attention when he sat down to play on his phone. There were a few things that I ordered that made me feel sick. He told me that since I didn't eat it, I will be charged extra. I asked to speak to a manager. He went to the other side of the dining room and told her that I wanted to speak to her. I heard him complaining about me. She has yet to come over to the table. The waiter is busy talking and laughing with another customer. He is wandering around. The manager just came over to my table to show someone else to their table. She gave me a look and walked away. My waiter has now sat down to eat. He never checked on my items from the kitchen. If they charge extra, it should be stated to the customer instead of having it on a part of the menu where people do not look. Someone just came over to tell me that the food I ordered was never made because I didn't finish my other food. They told me that I should eat it and get sick. They could have told half an hour ago that they were never making my food. It doesn't say anything on the menu about not getting more food if you don't finish what you have. I asked him if he wanted me to get sick from eating the food and he said ok. They kept pushing me off on someone else. When they gave me my receipt, they didn't give me back my card for a few minutes. I need to monitor everything because I don't trust them! The manager never showed up. People would probably eat more of their food if it was fresh. They also didn't have soap in the bathroom. They only had hand sanitizer. I was in the mood for sushi and my friend recommended this place. We came here for a late lunch. If you're familiar with the Cherry Hill Shopping area, this is where Koi Asian Cuisine used to be. There's plenty of parking around the restaurant, plus there's additional parking in the giant shopping center. Sushi Freedom is marketed as an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) place, but you can also order a la carte. The AYCE price is about $33 per person for dinner/weekends ($23 for weekday lunch). They also have lunch specials, but these are only available on weekdays (similar to the buffet pricing, the weekend is all-day dinner). Sashimi is only available at dinner. Even though it's called "Sushi Freedom," they have other Asian cuisine dishes on the menu. I like that the AYCE also includes apps, soups, salads, and some noodle dishes. I did a la carte this time, but I will definitely come back to try out the AYCE. We were greeted and seated right away. Several customers were finishing up their meals. The tables were already set with menus, napkins, and silverware. Once we were seated, our server immediately got our drinks. Service was excellent! He asked if we had any questions about the menu, checked on us, was knowledgeable about the menu and nuances of the sushi rolls and other dishes, and the sushi was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Our sushi had nice presentation. Each sushi plate even had a pretty flower garnish. For my rolls, I ordered the Twin Tower specialty roll (shrimp tempura and eel, ~$14) and a fresh yellowtail sushi roll (~$7). Shrimp tempura and eel are two of my favorites, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a roll with both. It also came with imitation crab and avocado. I enjoyed the roll but didn't really taste the eel. The yellowtail roll was good, but fish portions were on the small side. I was tempted to order another roll, but at that point, I was pretty satiated and on principle, I might as well have gone ham and done the AYCE (next time). We ended the meal with fortune cookies. Solid sushi and great service overall - I'm optimistic about the AYCE. Sushi Freedom is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and will surely help you get your sushi fix. read more

While looking for lunch options in the area, I found Sushi Freedom. The customer service could use a little improving starting with acknowledging waiting customers even if your not a host/hostess. Another customer told me the hostess had just gone to the back. Honestly, thats the only reason I waited. I would have left after not being acknowledged for so long. (There's was a waiter who came up to the area I was in and he could have easily said hello, and someone would be with me in a moment. ) They had decent options for lunch specials and everything that others were getting looked good. I settled on the General Tso's chicken. Most places, even though it's listed as spicy, it never is. There's had a nice kick to it, but it wasn't overwhelming. Ok we stumbled upon this place by accident and were so pleasantly surprised! They market themselves as AYCE, but I didn't see anything about that inside, nor did our waitstaff seem to offer it. Maybe it's only specific days/times of the week? We split 4 rolls. Here they are in order of how much I liked them (and I really liked all of them!) Caught in a Bad Romance Shrimp tempura, kani, avocado & cucumber inside, tobiko outside, crunch, spicy mayo and eel sauce on the top Super Salmon Roll Salmon tempura & avocado inside, salmon, crunchy and chef's spicy sauce Kamikaze Roll Spicy salmon, crunch, cream cheese, and avocado topped with jalapeno, special sauce, sriracha Mango Roll Shrimp tempura and avocado inside, topped with lobster and fresh mango, wrapped in pink soy crepe, and drizzled with eel sauce and mango sauce. My Wife (and BFF!) and I noticed Sushi Freedom took over the old Dairy Queen spot, and since we saw it had pretty good ratings, we decided to check it out. Honestly, it didn't really meet the standards of those high ratings for us. When we got in, we only had to wait about 5 to 7 minutes to be seated. The waiter was nice, friendly, and quick with the food. However, the menus are completely overwhelming. There is so much to choose from, and honestly, when I see a restaurant offering that many options, I start to wonder if the food will actually be great. You can't be a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none. We ordered a few things to try. The absolute highlight was the Shrimp Egg Rolls. The shrimp was good, the cabbage inside was good, it wasn't too greasy, and the outer shell was perfectly crispy. I would literally go back just to place a to-go order for those. The Gyoza, on the other hand, was not a great surprise. It just wasn't good, and I wouldn't order it again. For my main, we got the Combination Fried Rice. They give you an absolute mountain of it, so much that we ate there and still took a huge container home for two more meals. They don't skimp on the meat; there was plenty of chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. The problem? It was completely flavorless. When I took it home, I heated it up in a pan with some garlic butter, and it was phenomenal. It tasted so much better that My Wife literally asked, "Is that the same rice we had?" For sushi, we did the three-roll lunch deal. My Wife got the California Roll, and I got the Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were good, but nothing to write home about. I also added the Chicken Tempura Roll just to try something different from my usual shrimp. That was my own fault--I should have known better because it's chicken, not real sushi. It wasn't bad, it was just weird, and I definitely wouldn't do it again. Overall, we have a couple of other sushi spots we go to all the time that are consistently fresh with much better flavor. Plenty of free parking right outside and a good amount of seating, plus a private room for families and small parties. Everything is made-to-order - fresh rolls! The sashimi was fresh and not frozen like some AYCE places. The menu has sashimi, sushi/nigiri, specialty rolls, hand rolls, and also hot items. We ordered multiple rounds of rolls and sashimi and were impressed how fresh everything tasted, especially for AYCE. They bring them out on a sushi boat when you order a lot, nice touch! I love that didn't skimp on the presentation just because it's AYCE! They just added beef and chicken teriyaki - both were solid! They even had sweet shrimp sashimi and fried whole soft shell crab for dinner service - unique eats for AYCE! Service was also efficient and friendly, keeping plates coming without rushing us. For the variety, quality, and value, Sushi Freedom is a great option when you're craving AYCE but still want more than just basic rolls like some buffets. This is our go to sushi place after work. Conveniently located. I took my kiddo there for lunch - it's an AYCE spot. Got seated right away. The staff are very attentive, lots of food options and clean. We started with crab Rangoon, minced chicken with lettuce wrap, and egg drop soup. Then for entrees, tuna lover, butterfly, sushi freedom, volcano, and Godzilla rolls. Enjoyed them, fast service and it only cost us about $50 - not bad at all for Sushi. And honestly, the garlic was so strong that I couldn't find any flavor of curry at all. The egg roll was way too hard and crunchy. On Monday late afternoon, I had an early dinner at this restaurant with a colleague of mine. I ordered an eel roll, a salmon roll, a volcano, and tea. My bill was $41.63 plus the waitress herself added $8.33 as tips. So total is $49.96. The eel roll was terrible. There was no eel fish in the roll but the skin. The expensive volcano roll was fried, which I had never expected. So that means the sushi chef is clueless about what a volcano roll is. The salmon roll was okay. And my stomach has been upset since Tuesday morning. So many uncountable trips to the bathroom ever since Tuesday morning. The waitress' behavior was bad also, no matter how many times I tried to be nice to her. I will never go to this place again. I don't recommend this place. The ambience looks the same as the old place and I did notice they have a large private dining area in the corner. They have an extensive menu featuring sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and Asian fusion dishes. The food is made to order and comes out rather quickly. I would recommend ordering as much as you can when you first get there because I read that some diners said wait times can be long. The quality of the fish was high. They feature yellow tail, soft shell crab, salmon tartar, scallops, sweet shrimp and variety of fun rolls. I love the variety here and I saw some dinners coming in for the typical Chinese and Japanese dishes. I am giving this place 5 stars because of the value and service that you receive here. This used to be called Koi and it wasn't all you can eat before. It's the same exact restaurant. I like the ambiance- reminds me of those Chinese restaurants my parents used to take me as a kid. The menu items are all pretty much the same with the option to do all you can eat. We got the chicken yakisoba but the taste wasn't quite what I was looking for- it tasted a bit bland, lacking that kick of flavor but still tasty for those who want a simple chicken noodle dish. The salmon roll up is always a favorite! Our salmon lover and spider rolls and nigiri were standard to the restaurant and didn't disappoint. We also ordered the sesame balls and edamame but didn't get a picture of those. We're happy one of our go to spots is now all you can eat! We will be going again to they their other non sushi options. What sucked is we went close to closing time and the staff started mopping the floor and the smell of the cleaning agent was so powerful that it kind of ruined part of the meal. Because we of that, we rushed to eat and asked to get the rest to go- maybe they were being coy to have us hurry up which did work although we weren't planning to linger. Amazing new All You Can Eat Sushi place off Colesville Road in Silver Spring. I heard about it on Facebook late last week and decided to come with my wife since we had a couple hours to kill yesterday and were hungry. So glad to have a place closer to us but it is a bit of a bus ride or drive up from downtown. We took Uber there and then one to Glenmont to head downtown for an event. This is one of the better AYCE sushi places and they have al a carte if you do not want the AYCE menu or want other Asian food options. The service is fast and friendly and there is ample seating across the restaurant. Luckily they were quite busy on a Sunday afternoon but not full. We tried various appetizers which had huge portions and then had eight rolls to share which we all loved. One of our sushi platters came with color changing decoratings which was a very nice touch.
