I went here on a Tuesday evening and there were people inside but it wasn't crazy busy or anything. The service could be better, but the food makes up for it. They offer a wide variety of options on the menu. The rolls are especially impressive as they offer huge portions at a great price compared to other places. Overall, it's a solid spot, and I'd definitely come back.

WHAT WE GOT: 12 piece sashimi and Island roll, The sashimi was fine, cuts were all over the place and the salmon was a little too fishy tasting for my liking. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. It was fine but not the best. Island roll was sweet, i could hardly taste the lemon on it. Rolls are very thick so it was harder to eat. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: Service was nice, kind servers. Nothing to note. 3/5 stars, We know we're coming in for lower end sushi so can't complain!

Even ordering to go their rolls are super loaded, fresh, and affordable! Probably one of my all time favorite places in the Sacramento area. The island roll has been my all time favorite along with the golden dragon. Highly recommend coming here.

Back at our favorite sushi place!!! This place never disappoints. The service is always friendly. The price are reasonable and you get your food quickly. The restaurant is clean . They have all you can eat sushi Monday thru Friday 11-3pm. Ray ( our favorite employee) surprised us with two sushi taco samples. It's something new they are doing. And let me tell you, it was AMAZING. The taco shell is made out of seaweed and is super crunchy ( 10/10) Definitely recommend sushi hook

I appreciate SH so much! Super bang for your buck. And beer special M-F, $2.99/4.99. Awesome. I love the spicy avacado roll and miso soup. This pic is of the $17.99 combo which is huge!!! I got Cali roll as roll option and teriyaki chicken dish. So much food for such a great price. Also, the best part is...the wait staff is so kind and friendly. I love this place. Just beware, Sac State students frequent here, so go at a good time or prepare for a wait. I'm off work at 5 and take advantage of going in asap M-F for beer special and either a roll/miso soup r the combo $17.99 which is a steal.

Im sad to say that my recent visit wasn't as pleasant as it usually is. The service was still great. The host was kind and helpful. But, I ordered the "seared" tuna.. and I got fully cooked, cold, definitely pre made tuna.. not freshly seared. And I ordered the cucumber split, which honestly did taste fresh and wonderful. But I just can't get past that tuna.. see pics please..

Came here for to go order and here for the first time. Lunch menu is limited and the front desk server was rude and unaccommodating when asked if there was a gluten free menu. She immediately said "no everything in here has gluten". Very UNACCOMODATING and UNWELCOMING. Ordered the standard chicken teriyaki bento box (no sauce) which I was told would take 20 minutes. Another staff (possibly the chef himself) but not the front desk lady, came out to drop off my order. The chicken was ok; nothing to rave about. Sadly, I could not try the glutinous items like California roll, egg roll and potstickers. So this makes for an experience lunch! The dark ambiance in this place adds to an unwelcoming vibe. Will not be returning...

Solid vegetarian rolls, but you'll want to place online and phone in orders at least 45 minutes ahead of time. I placed an order 15 minutes before leaving to pick it up, and it wasn't ready even though there were only three tables seated with only two people at each table. The deep friend vegetarian rolls are really good. They also have an all you can eat option, but I can't vouch for it cause I haven't had a chance to enjoy it yet.

Most mid sushi. Similar to Arigato down the street. Good intro to sushi. Long over due for this review. Their most popular roll is crack cocaine but it's like 2.5 roll in one. 3 bite from one piece. Never had an issue with service here and it's a chill atmosphere.

Sushi Hook is very good you guys! I have only been here a few times and absolutely loved my latest experience in the summer of 2025! There are weekday specials such as Sapporo draft, and Sapporo Black and appetizer dishes. Like most places, specials do not include holidays so please keep that in mind. There's plenty of parking in the lot near the surrounding businesses. The bathrooms are clean. The servers are helpful and kind. I was pleasantly surprised to get the bill to see that it was not terribly priced especially with the amount of food we got. I had to get edamame, miso soup, inari and some rolls. I enjoyed ALL OF IT.

One of my favorite spots in my college years. Delicious food. Very affordable. Nearby. Stopped by since I was craving a dynamite roll. Food - dynamite was good as always. Love the light crunch. Crunch monkey was okay. The -2 is due to the service. When I first arrived it was sorta full. But then as I waited then sat down. And took time to read the menu. The restaurant was only half full. The server completely disappeared after giving me water and asking if I needed time. Was like I was forgotten. Another staff came by and noticed me trying to wave. The staff took my order. Server delivered food and then disappeared again. Never came back to refill water or check in. I did eventually flag down the server and say I was ready for the check. They took my card first. And then brought the check with my card. This was odd. Typically they bring the check. Then collect my card. Food was good. Service was just bizarre.

I don't always think of sushi hook when picking a sushi restaurant to visit -- their sushi is good, but it's not my absolute favorite. They have this one massive roll there though, it's called the "crack cocaine" (I know, crazy), but it's there and it's huge and my husband is a fan of that sushi roll because it's very unique. I do appreciate that their space is larger now (in comparison to years back when it was a smaller restaurant). I usually go when it's not very busy and the wait time is reasonable.

Do they have any rolls made with-/or/ the option to replace white rice with- BROWN RICE?

I'm not sure if they offer brown rice. Never seen any sushi made with brown rice before though. But you can try requesting it via special instructions to see if it'll get approved.

What's in the crack cocaine roll, is there anything on top?

Are you guys currently offering dine in?

    No just take out

Does this place still do buy one, get one free rolls?

Not when I was there during lunch.

What's the best sushi place by lincoln?

Nope! Pay per roll, but it's 50% off.

Do they offer rice free sushi rolls? Maybe with cucumber or soy paper wrap?

They only have a few. But one is my absolute favorite roll there, the Johnny Roll. 12/10 would recommend, it's delish!

Does anyone know if they are opening soon?

    Tomorrow!!! 04/30/2018

Any updates on a grand reopening?

    Open now

When are they gonna reopen?? one of my favorite sushi places

    Tomorrow! 04/30/2018!

Any word on when they'll open back up?

No. Fire clean up takes a long time. Hopefully by summer time. I miss them, and there arent many sushi places in town with their " specials"

We sat at the bar area so, we didn't see how it was being made. My husband and I thought they probably forgot about our order and was sitting out for awhile. This time they sat us where all the chefs were making the dishes, so I finally saw how they make ngiri. There is 1 guy who makes it and I didn't like how he would make the ngiris but was not served asap. He would make about 3 sets at a time or some thing like that. The time from when it's made and time where it's served is too long. That is why the fish is warm by the time it got to us. Also, we didn't see a fridge where he was making it but it could be underneath around his leg area. I'm a little disappointed. From all the sushi documentary's I've watched, this is not how it's suppose to be. I regret ordering the Ngiri Mix again cause the fish was warm. Same like last time! I read other reviews where people have said the quality is going down. Even though, I am not a regular here, I can kinda tell that it is. My favorite are ngiri's and it doesn't beat Kura's ngiri's right now. Kru just give's bigger portions but the quality of Kura's is superb! Kru's ambiance is dark, chill environment with lights shining down on where it matters like the food and selfie pics lol. It can get loud when it get's busy. Mos def chiq and aesthically pleasing. Every little detail from the ceiling to the floor, table setting, mural, bathroom, and even menus were all BEAUTIFUL! SPECIAL SHOUT OUT: To all the resto staff that helped us for both nights. Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. There was barely any curry and it was not flavorful at all. The dish tasted like mash potato udon with a hint of curry. YUCK! The menu indicates "shrimp tempura/chicken", however there was only the thick battered shrimp. When I asked the waitress about the shrimp she said it only comes with chicken OR shrimp. Since they never asked me which one I wanted when I ordered they chose for me. The menu indicates both shrimp and chicken and the fact they chose only one for me made me feel ripped off. The steak was perfectly grilled but most of the sauce was under a huge amount of unnecessary lettuce. - Broadway Roll: 5/5. So good. (The rolls come in 10 pieces but the cuts are smaller in size and easier to eat. We all finished our rolls. ) -Sunshine Roll: 4/5. This wasn't marked as "hot" but it was very spicy and I had to wipe some of the siracha sauce off to eat it. The lemon slices on top were delicious. - Messi Roll: 5/5. Hubby would get it again. - Firecracker Roll: 5/5. Son in law ate every bit!

I do think you could get better sushi for the price at other places. i think my palate has also just gotten more expensive with sushi haha. We also got the Sake fin, cuts of fish were nice! Again, nothing that stood out to me. AMBIANCE/SERVICE: Service was nice & quick we sat at the bar. Quite a small restaurant so on a weekend i'm sure there may be a wait.
