Chicken came out fast and was very good! The outside was very crunchy and the sauce on the chicken itself was flavorful. The spicy yangeom packs a punch for sure. The pickles were sweet and crunchy as well! Service was pleasant and interior was clean. Would come back again and try their other flavors.
We ordered take out. The food packaging is very thoughtful. Fried chicken is shielded but not fully closed so it's hot but not soggy. Also service is fast and efficient. We have Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken which is fresh, crispy and deliciously spicy! The batter is a little thick on some pieces but overall tasty! I personally love the spiciness. My husband said it's is too spicy but I found it just right. If you like a little kick this is a great choice! We also got a bibimbap, which is something I don't recommend ordering. The chicken in there has a weird reheated taste, like when you cook it and let it sit out for too long and then reheated it. It also quite dry and under seasoned. The veggies are also quite under seasoned. The gochujang can't event fix it.. over all not a lot of flavors like other bibimbaps I've had. However, this is a fried chicken place. So I shouldn't judge the bibimbap too harshly. But I would recommend stick with the fried chicken and avoid this haha. Again, service is super efficient. The order was completed in around 30mins. And the fried chicken is good!!
Tiny lil wing shop serving tasty ramen and Korean fried chicken. We tried garlic Parmesan, honey butter and yang nyum wings. The garlic Parmesan was the best. The honey butter was sort of strange and the mild yang nyum were not spicy at all. Our server recommended the traditional crispy wings so I think we will get those next time. Not much charm here but pretty tasty food.

Juicy too but also a tad too greasy for my liking. Not a fan of the yangnyum sauce used here; rather gloopy and tastes very ketchup-y. Laver rolls are nice little appetizers if you need even more crispiness in your feast. The honey butter French fries are the ultimate drink snack lol super generous portion of honey butter seasoning that tastes very similar to the seasoning used in bagged honey butter chips seen at Asian grocery stores. Friendly server. Overall a pretty decent spot if you have a hankering for some Korean fried chicken in the area.
Another hard to find, tucked in the corner and not enough signage yummy food spot. Vons is located next to Sushi Hook on Howe. This location shares operation with a Ramen and More. My fiancé and I tried two orders of their chicken and Bulgogi Ramen. The prices of the chicken seem a bit steep compared to other chicken locations but in this day and age small restaurants like this are just trying to survive. We order a half order Crispy Yangnyum, half order crispy garlic chicken tenders and Bulgogi Ramen. The Yangnyum has a bit of a kick. The half order of legs are huge and have tons of meat. The flavor is all the way down to the bone. Next time I will try the legs extra well done for a better crunch which I heard is the way to go. I also added the butter powder seasoning to a few of my legs as suggested by a friend. A must try!!! The crispy garlic chicken tenders were delicious! They are crunchy and flavorful. They use chicken thighs to make their tenders. The tenders are a nice size and covered in their garlic sauced. I also added the butter powder seasoning to a few of my tenders just to see! It's really good with their butter powder seasoning as well. The Bulgogi Raman bowl was pretty yummy. The meat was well seasoned and tender! I am not a fan but my fiancé enjoyed the bowl. Besides, the price and location the food is really good. The service is great! The restaurant is small in the inside with Limited seating. For those who like Sake, they have a few selections on their menu.
You need to run & give this restaurant a try, it's so delicious! As soon as you walk in, you're hit with yummy aromas of what's being cooked. It's a small spot, kept clean, service is fast, & food comes out piping hot. Also, the servers are very attentive & accommodating. 10/10 - Crispy Fried Chicken (all bone-in wings/mild): the outside is very crispy, meat is juicy & tender, & the garlic soy flavor is dynamite. 10/10 - Garlic Edamame: these are finger licking good! The garlic chili mixture looks spicy, but it's not spicy at all. It packs such a great flavor & makes the edamame addicting. 10/10 - Kimchi: if you like kimchi, this one is a must order. The fermentation has a good balance of sourness & tanginess. 9/10 - Cheddar Fries: these are solid fries, they're crispy & yummy; since the cheddar powder is packed right on top, it did get a bit messy. 7/10 - Laver Roll: the seaweed wrapper is crunchy & the noodles inside have a great chew, but the flavor is meh as it lacks seasoning.
I did a DoorDash pickup for some Curry Chicken and I was pleasantly surprised. The curry was herbaceously robust with flavor and creaminess. The broth had mild aftertaste, which I did prefer. The chef served my to-go order in earlier than expected and my entire meal was piping hot! There was some seating for both indoor and outdoor guests for a combined 10-12 people. The restaurant was rather small. I'd definitely order their curry again and toss some fried wings in there!
Bawmmmbbb I ordered 5 honey butter drumsticks. They honey butter flavor is powder, which I don't mind at all but would be cool if they had a sauce version. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the batter was crunchy and flakey. Though deep fried, it tasted surprisingly light and clean - not greasy! We really loved the honey butter chicken, and staff is great as well. 100% better than Bonchon!
My girlfriend and I grabbed dinner the other night and it was her first time trying Von's and my first time to this location. It's much smaller than the folsom location, there's about 8 tables down a narrow space. The size and atmosphere reminded me of the chicken restaurants in kdramas. Lol Service was quick and everything was delicious. We started with edamame, gyoza and a side of pickled radish. I tried the crispy fried chicken with honey butter for the first time and it was unique. The flavor reminded me of kettle corn. Hahaha, I know it sounds weird but it was actually very tasty! The Yangnyum will always be my favorite though - crunchy crust and nice and spicy sauce. I will say, this location has more on their menu than the folsom location but they do not offer happy hour like the folsom location. They also got pretty busy during dinner time on a Wednesday, which isn't super ideal for a small restaurant. I loved the homey vide and the chicken was bomb!

Served chilled with cute little shot glasses! After narrowing down and finally deciding on what chicken to order, we decided on the half combo of Spicy Yangnyeom and half combo of Crispy Honey Butter. The Yangnyeom was very spicy and the perfect amount of sauce! I like that they give you the option of controlling the spice level. The Honey Butter was delicious! If you enjoy salty and sweet fusions, you will love it! So crispy! Overall loved this place! I will definitely be going back! It's the kind of food that leaves you with a craving for it!
Vons Chicken opened a couple of years ago. They didn't do much to the dining room. It looks almost the same as before when this is Ramen and More. The dining room looks dated but comfortable and clean. They're famous for chicken. But my mood wanted the Bulgogi beef. So, I ordered the Bulgogi Rice Plate. It is ready in five minutes. It is delicious. The meat tastes excellent and juicy. I love it! I'll try their chicken one of the day. But I love their bulgogi beef very much now.
This was my second time eating at this Von's location and first time dining outside. The patio doesn't seem to get used often, and everything was a bit dusty/dirty. For dinner between 3 adults, we ordered squid legs, laver rolls, and 2 half orders of chicken. We also got 2 sides of rice and a side of pickled radish. Laver rolls were good, squid legs good but portion quite small, chicken was OK, a bit bland. Sadly, after finishing all our food, the 2 guys left still hungry, but I felt just right since I had a bowl of rice with my chicken. Service was OK. We got most of everything we needed in a timely matter.
When I think about getting fried chicken, this spot is definitely on the list. After eating here a few times, I would definitely recommend the fried chicken as all the flavors are a hit depending on your mood. I usually get wings and drums, but the half or full chicken option is a good choice as well. The garlic soy glaze is light and doesn't overpower the chicken, and it is still crunchy. The yangnyeom is a Korean style sauce, and the chicken is drenched in it. This can be spicy, so choose your level wisely. The ramen here is also popular. Everyone in the place was getting ramen, and the place was packed on a Friday night for dinner. I could do a bowl of ramen as an appetizer and some fried chicken as the main event, so you get the best of both worlds. I would definitely recommend the fried chicken to anyone looking for a new spot.
Finally getting around to doing this review, but I recommend Vons chicken! If you're looking for crispy, crunchy, and well seasoned Korean fried chicken, this is the spot. I've had Bonchon and I can say Vons is better, but it's pretty close. The service was quick and our waitress was nice. The ambiance was cozy and it felt family run. Definitely recommend and I can't wait to try their other flavors! read more

The food was bussing but they got them judgy old Korean customers that be giving you the eye. Idk if they are into me or if they jealous or if they mental but just don't be surprised if you try to dine in. There's a reason 6 pieces of drums costs $15.99... The original crispy chicken in spicy, is legit GOOD! The honey-butter crispy chicken is my second favorite flavor because of its combination of savory and sweet. I would highly recommend Vons Chicken, it's expensive yes - but the chicken here is legit good. Very, very flavorful! read more

Friends have been telling me about Vons chicken for a while. I've heard that the fried chicken is outstanding, and that I definitely need to try it. You know how they say that things come together for a reason? I found the Sacramento location located near my dental office, so I figured it was a must try! They are located in a small strip mall, and the actual restaurant size is on the smaller side. It's fairly unassuming, but don't let that deter you. The interior of the restaurant is pretty bland, but let me tell you, the food is not! They have magic going on in the Kitchen! We ordered two different iterations of the crispy Yangnyum chicken. One was mild and wings, the other was medium heat and boneless. Damn delicious! The medium heat definitely brings the heat! Portion size was incredibly generous, and they graciously added the perfect amount of sauce. It absolutely is a shareable portion, especially if you're ordering other things. The mild wing version was my favorite hands-down. Again, super generous sized portion, plenty of sauce to cover and bring flavor to each bite, and did I mention that it was damn delicious?! I rarely if ever finish what I order. I am infamous for my to go boxes :-) yes, I did get a to go box, but I can assure you that I finished my meal later in the evening. My mouth is watering just thinking about how tasty the chicken was. It was perfectly seasoned, each bite was tender and tasty, the exterior of the wing was perfectly fried and not overdone. Seriously just so tasty! Service was spot on, and the woman that took our order not only was super sweet, but she was very attentive as well. They are a little skimpy with the napkins, so you may need to ask for a few more. Trust me, with the wings, you'll need the napkins. The family that was sitting next to us had all ordered Ramen bowls. They had remarked that they are regular customers, and the Ramen bowls not only are a huge portion, but that they are really good. Admittedly, I wish that we had ordered a Ramen bowl, because when theirs arrived at their table, they looked amazing. They smelled amazing. I'm excited to go back and try one of them. Vons is like that bad boy you can't shake in your teenage years. I think about Vons all the time and find myself helplessly wanting to come back no matter how bad it is for me. I'm counting down the days on when I can be satisfied by Vons again. I've got it bad! I've always loved Korean fried chicken, especially the garlic soy, with its sweet and savory sauces enveloping the juicy chicken's blanket of crispiness. It blows my mind how their chicken stays so crispy despite all that sauce! Vons upped the notch by adding other flavors. Not to mention, they are the CRISPIEST! Kia Shine would be proud. CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN W/ CHEDDAR 5/5* Trust me, this sounded funky to me at first too and I was disappointed that it was a mound of powdered cheese on top of the fried chicken instead of real cheese. But I definitely gravitate towards this every single time I'm at Vons now. It's an interesting flavor - sweet, slightly cheesy, powdery, but not the same as the cheese powder you'd sprinkle on popcorn. It's milder and has a subtle sweetness that enhances the savory chicken.. it's umami! CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN W/ HONEY BUTTER 4/5* Again, I was disappointed that this wasn't actually real honey and real butter, but the flavors are still just as delicious! It reminds me of the sweetness of corn. This does get overwhelming sweet after a while, so switch off with the other flavored chicken to cut the taste. CRISPY GARLIC CHICKEN 3.5/5* This only had a slight garlic flavor. There wasn't the typical pungent, spicy flavor of fresh garlic since it was more of sweet garlic chutney. If you love garlic, you might not like this. The crispy batter did start getting a bit soft where the sauce was touching, so eat them fast! CRISPY "YANGNYUM" CHICKEN 4/5* What the heck is Yangnuym? I had to Google it.. wished they had a description on the menu. Anyway, this looks red and spicy, but wasn't at all spicy (at Medium level). It was super sticky and saucy, but still retained the crunch of the batter beneath it. The flavors were also sweet and savory, reminiscent of a sweeter BBQ sauce but with hints of ginger. It would be better to get light sauce or sauce on the side. Vons is located inside a predecessor restaurant, Ramen & More, next to Sushi Hook. It's easy to find in the small, empty plaza with plenty of parking. Perfect for quickly breezing in and out to get your fix like those times you spent with those bad boys back in the day read more

First time and highly recommended!!! Hungry and looking for places to eat husband mentioned Vons so search for the nearest location along our way to San Francisco. . Howe Ave in Sacramento is the closest so stop by here. First vibes was positive since servers are Korean. We ordered the original crispy chicken, crispy calamari and bibimbap dolsot. All dishes are good it's like we're in Korea service was excellent.. read more

I usually go to the one on Folsom Blvd and I really like the chicken, the chicken at this location is not nearly as good. They have significantly smaller chicken pieces, the drumsticks and wings here are half as big as the ones the other location uses. (The wing drums were barley larger than a quarter. Seriously...) The chicken is cooked differently too, the chicken I received was super dry and tasted burned. I asked for the soy glaze and they put almost none, if any onto the chicken. If it was there I couldn't taste it. To top it off it had a greasy burned chicken flavor, the frier oil they used tasted old and burned and it really permeated the breading and the chicken and since the glaze was non existent, it was basically inedible. It had a chewy dry flavor like I had gone to a fast food establishment, almost like it was left under a warmer instead of freshly made. Nothing like the chicken served at the Vons on Folsom Blvd. It was on par with the fried chicken that SaveMart serves out of their deli. I ended up returning the chicken because it's nothing like their other locations, they did give a refund but they had the entire staff waiting at the register to inspect the chicken, they all rejected their mistake and denied responsibility like children, acting like it was made perfectly, flat out lying because I've eaten a lot of Vons chicken and it doesn't taste like this. Like I said, I have eaten at other locations of Vons chicken and they have superb chicken, just not here. Likely never returning here to this specific location. Not gonna lie, I've once tried a ramen spot and was very disappointed so ever since I've been hesitant trying another ramen spot. I actually pulled up to this parking lot with intentions of going to falafel corner. I've had FC hella times so i wanted to try this spot here. I'm glad I did!! Walking in it seemed cozy but its ok. The customer service was friendly, fast, overall great. I honestly dont remember what I ordered but i do know that it had a miso base. I also ordered half of the garlic chicken BECAUSE I'M OBSESSED WITH GARLIC. My wife got the curry ramen lol pendeja, I laugh because I knew it was gonna be hella thick and when she got her bowl she was like "aww man it's really thick" hahahaha she tasted it and loved it. So it wasn't a complete fail. It actually had a great flavor. My ramen was sooo good and had a rich tasty flavor and you could tell the noodles were fresh and had a nice el dente texture. My daughter doesn't really like any of this stuff she put in work on some fries tho. The chicken was great! VERY JUICY AND CRISPY! Next time i'm a try the honey butter chicken. Stopped by on a rainy saturday afternoon. Needless to say they were busy. The staff managed to tend to everyone, check up on us, and remain in a good spirits. The place is clean. Although a bit small they do their best to turn the tables around quickly to accommodate people waiting. On this visit I had the Bulgogi Ramen, Medium Spicy and added tofu. First opening in Korea and now expanded to all over the world, Vons is known for delicious roast and fried chicken. I seen several new locations open up and thought I would give this place a try finally. Got to try their crispy fried chicken, cheddar chicken wings and their honey butter French fries. The crispy fried chicken wasn't that crispy and it tasted very bland to me. I was hoping for some a nice, crunchy bite. I did enjoy the cheddar seasoning on the wings and the honey butter was actually surprisingly good. I probably would need condiments like ketchup or ranch to enjoy the chicken next time. read more

Came here on a saturday. Enough seating, but a constant flow of people. Also they have outdoor seating. We ordered a large order of chicken wings combo with the soy garlic I think. The wings are 5/5. super crispy, juicy, great. We got mild but def could've gotten medium. Mild was not spicy at all. Flavor was good though. Got tonkatsu ramen too. Not super authentic.. 3/5. Wouldn't come here for the ramen. Got the bulgogi rice plate too. It was ok. Nothing really complain about but nothing mind blowing. Parking was plentiful and service was good. Basically, I'd just stick to the fried chicken. read more

This was my first time ever trying Vons Chicken, and it was yummy! My friends and I ended up sharing a half combo Honey Butter chicken, half combo Yangnyeom chicken, and a side of fries. Honey Butter Chicken - 4/5 I LOVE Honey Butter chips, so this was so amazing. They are so crispy and crunchy on the outside. The chicken is super moist too! I loved the Honey Butter powder they dusted all over it. It's pretty sweet though, and I got kind of tired of it after finishing it. But dang, it's still really good. I would get it again (but maybe after a small break from it). Yangnyeom Chicken - 3.75/5 We got the medium spicy level, and my friends found it to be too spicy. I thought it was alright, but my nose was running. I really liked the sauce. It was spicy, sticky, and delicious. I found that the sauce coated each chicken perfectly. I just wish that the chicken was a little crispier. Maybe the sauce made the outside a little soggy... But still pretty good! Fries - 3/5 They tasted like regular fries with a side of ketchup. It was not crispy at all and very soft in the middle. It was decent fries. I found that the drumsticks were HUGE! We got two half combos and that was plenty to feed three people. We were so full and satisfied after our meal. I also really liked the side of pickled radish. I would definitely come back to try their other chicken flavors! I loved the crisp from the Honey Butter chicken and hope to get that same experience with the other chicken flavors on their menu. read more

from all the korean fried chicken I've seen, thats what I usually see them offering. thats one way it differs from typical american fried chicken i guess
